This center is great! Every time I have gone in to donate (which has been quite a few) the staff has always been super friendly and helpful. I’m very fond of all Hoxworth’s employees and volunteers, but especially so for the Anderson center. If you’re debating on donating anywhere, this is a top-​notch place for it!

Best service I have had to date at a Hoxworth Blood Center. Ben took my blood and he was super nice and made sure I was comfortable. The rest of the staff from the check-​in to the initial screening were fantastic, too.

All Hoxworth centers are awesome, but I go to the one in Anderson to donate platelets and plasma on the machines, and the people there are awesome! It takes about an 1.5 hours so they make sure to keep you warm and comfy during your time. I know it seems like a long time but it is worth it… many cancer patients going through chemo have their entire immune systems wiped out so they need more that just red cells, they need a big doses of platelets too!
And not only do you help someone but your often get freebies like reds tickets or $ 5 gift cards or movie tickets or t-​shirts for volunteering so that’s a nice incentive too ;)
