Game Time Sports Bar is A-OK. They offer a ton of games which include: air hockey, basketball, shuffleboard, darts, and even sand volleyball. The space is gigantic so even if there are a lot of people here you still feel like you have some breathing room. Right away, I couldn’t believe how many taps they had. They had a great local beer selection but one thing that was weird was that they were served in small plastic cups which no one was a fan of. The prices were fair, and the staff was friendly. The place could use a good scrub down, and it is not fancy by any means, but a solid neighborhood spot and a great place for groups to stay entertained. Can’t wait to come back in the summer to check out the patio and volleyball courts!

Here to grab for the Cincinnati cyclones trivia night. Got a Coke with grenadine and rum at the bar from 2 nice girls, 3.50 each… Also got a tv switched to watch the ny rangers game. There’s a lot of people here tonight, and people outside playing volleyball at night. Seems like a pretty chill place for locals to watch Monday night football. Not sure if I would return purposely if ever in town again, but again didn’t have any problems with this place!

Went here for the first time for a volleyball tournament and had an awesome time! Husband and I split an order of the cheese fries and they were great! Great prices for drinks, and a nice selection of local beers to try.

This place has been open for a few years now and I had not walked in to check out the bar before last night. I went to watch a buddy play volley ball and found things both surprising and unappealing about Game Time. The bars(there are 3 inside and 1 outside) are plentiful, and had a really good selection of brews that I was pleasantly surprised by. The night I went, the bar closest to the doors outside was the one open. It was a really large, nice bar and there were tons of TV’s and games(shuffleboard, air hockey) you could play if you didn’t want to be outside or watch tv. The selection of beers on draft was impressive — I want to say there were at least a dozen taps — and there was a really good mix of the«big brewers» as well as local brewers/microbrewers. I got a Rhinegeist and was elated that the bar manager at Game Time realized that folks want something other than Bud Light(not my scene.) Another nice thing is they offer a «tall or short» pour, which was great since I was only going to be there for a short bit. My short pour was $ 4, which is another reason I love drinking on the westside — its so cost effective! My friends were sharing a bucket of 5 Bud Lights and from what I heard, it was 10 $, normally its $ 7.50 during happy hour. SO, if you want to drink on a budget, this place is ideal. The volleyball courts were nice — having walked by this joint for years, I can attest to the fact that the leagues here are pretty popular as they have games nearly every night and pretty far into the fall. Its definitely something different from the boring bar scene. I haven’t eaten here, but a friend of mine has and said that the wings there are very good. All that aside — the bathrooms here were ridiculously bad. They appeared clean-ish and had soap/papertowels/TP, but it was almost comically bad in terms of walking in and seeing that it had obviously never had work done on them in the 2 years this place has been open. Aside from patches on the wall and some haphazard painting over writing on the wall, these bathrooms have not been touched, likely since this joint’s previous iteration as the Cheviot Sports Tavern. The one stall i was in had the hot/cold water shut off lines exposed(which I am guessing is NOT up to code) and the floor tiles were cracked/broken in places and extremely dingy. For them having been open a few years, there’s really no reason they can’t spend a few bucks and make the bathroom look a bit nicer — even if its just by slapping a coat of dark paint on the walls I can’t even imagine how bad the men’s room must have been. So, overall its a good bar to go and get a cheap drink at. Just maybe go to the bathroom at home.

Great Bar and Restaurant! The atmosphere is fun and there are plenty of TVs for game day. The bar is fully stocked and the food is also very good. The tap selection is pretty good too. Great place for fun, drinks, and food! Highly Recommend it!

This place used to be good. They’ve always had terrible food but they used to have the best beer selection at good prices and karaōke. Now it’s just a big sports bar with an annoying jukebox and volleyball courts

I feel like I have to give a more positive spin on this place than the previous reviews considering I have become a regular at this place since it opened back in March. Yes, it is your standard West Side sports bar, so if you are looking for hip and trendy this isn’t going to be it for you… Also expect that there will be games on, but it seems like the sound issue mentioned before has resolved itself. As with all Cheviot bars, drink prices are decent– maybe not as strong as some of the smaller bars in the area though. Service(bartenders and waitresses) is always good, which may be because I generally come here during the off times. Their back patio is a great place to hang, whether there are games going on or not. The inside feels way, way, way to big for the crowd. The middle and right hand sections are often empty and makes the bar feel like a ghost town when you go in. But, make a left and find the crowd, inside and out. The bar is bright and clean, which is a huge improvement over what it used to be like! The food is surprisingly good and incredibly cheap!!! As regulars, we have found that our favorite thing on the menu is something that isn’t on the menu at all. They have a Cajun Burger that comes with seasoning, jalapenos, and Swiss cheese. We always ask them to substitute out the burger for a chicken breast and add honey mustard and they are always happy to do it with no additional charge. Their sweet potato waffle fries are some of the best around! I have tried their regular fries and have found them pretty soggy. So, if you are in the are and want to catch a quick bite and the game definitely try this place out!

This is your typical Cheviot bar with a fresh coat of paint. The staff is new but the owners of the bar are the same. For those of you that don’t know, this used to be the Cheviot Sports Bar, which was basically a rundown sports bar slash trashy night club. Those days are now over and the newly updated bar is clean and focused on the sports bar scene only. They added a new sand volleyball court in the back with a grass area to hangout. Monday-Friday and Sundays they offer $ 1 beers from 4 to 7. The beer selection could use some work but it’s the West-side and the beer of choice for most is Bud Light and Miller Light so don’t expect to get your favorite local beers. The food is typical bar food but the chicken quesadilla I had was quite tasty. I would recommend it to other who are hunger and have had a few beers. This is a great bar for groups but I don’t recommend it for those looking to meet other single people in the area.

Oh, Game Time. Oh, west side establishments. Oh, bars. I struggle with all of you. I’m exposing my biases up front so read this with that in mind. I really, really hated this place when it was the Cheviot Sports Tavern. It was crowded, rowdy, unruly, hillbilly, and just ‘not my scene’. If you liked it, you probably had good memories here. Me… not so much. Now that it’s Game Time, I think there is some potential for it to take on a new vibe, though I recently learned it’s the same owner, just a different name? If this is true, that’s concerning, but not damning. I don’t think it was the ownership I ever had a problem with, but the clientele that I wasn’t digging, and it’s yet to see how that might change. Anyhow… I was here on the inaugural sand volleyball Sunday a week ago. The bar was dead. The floors looked new and there may have been a new coat of paint or two, but generally, I stayed outside, and things looked as they always had– cornhole, pool, and maybe some game stations to keep patrons busy. There are three sections, not sure if they’re different, but that’s largely the same too. Onto the outside… the court looks nice, if a bit lacking in foresight without nets all around and some concrete pavers that are begging to crack and head or split a leg or arm over. I didn’t play, mind you, just watched… but as bar leagues go it was a mixed bag of skill and talent. The ball flying every which way and staff members chasing it, corresponded with skill… but that’s largely the case. The refs said nothing, which isn’t a great sign, but it was the first week. If they want this to work, it’s got to be a LITTLE more involved, right? I sure hope so. While watching I had a chicken quesadilla which was pleasantly tasty. The staff seemed nice, if a bit bored, by low numbers. The menu is less snacky and more meal oriented, which is probably fine, but left me a little disappointed as I really didn’t want to ‘eat’ there… just needed a bite. Quesadilla worked but at $ 7 felt a little pricey. I’ll be back every Sunday for a while and keep my eye on the place-update as necessary. Good riddance to the nasty Sports Tavern, let’s see if this version is any more charming. Here’s to hoping!

Large bar with lots of TV’s to catch the action, the sand court would be fun, but I’m from the east side of town where there are lots of better courts to play on. Average beer selection(all macro drafts) Nice enough staff, not crowded for March Madness, hopefully it catches on, it’s a nice place to catch a game.

Ugh, the name! I can’t stand the name! I had a friend meet me up at «Game Time»(I’m using air quotes for the name until it gets changed) this past weekend and I was embarrassed to tell her the name of the place I was at. The name makes me think that this is more of an arcade than a bar(see Gameworks). So for those of you looking to play Resident Evil 9 and shoot some skeeballs, I’m sorry, you’ll be sadly disappointed. Name aside, this is a large sports bar — about twice as large as it needs to be. Half of this place was filled with chirping crickets last Friday, when there was NCAA tournament basketball all over the television, of which«Game Time» seemed to have covered. I was pleased to find a sand volleyball court outback. That’s going to be a nice asset in the summertime. Beer selection was kind of hit-or-miss and if you wanted a light draft beer it was going to be green, no choice on that one(not that I cared). I’m not sure that this was my kind of place, but if you want to catch a game and you live in the area, perhaps this is your cup of tea. I’d definitely check it out again when it’s no longer called«Game Time».

A sports bar in Cheviot? Yeah big surprise, but this one seems to be a little more than just a bar with TV’s and some greasy food. I had been to the previous business(Cheviot Sports Tavern) in this location, and on a weekend night, whoa, this place was fairly ghetto. So, walking in I noticed a lot of new stuff, floors, decorations, and paint. The place is setup with 3 distinct rooms, two of which are bars and the third has tables and is less bar like, and good for groups or those wanting to eat at a table. There are a few games to play and even a dartboard I believe. I had the Chicken Quesadilla($ 6) and it was pretty good, nothing spectacular, but had lots of cheese and an appropriate amount of salsa. I also had a green beer as it was St. Patricks Day. yeah… I know… cliché. Okay, so outside there is a great patio area which has a bar but was not serving In front of this area is a sand volleyball court that is a surprise to see in this part of town. Okay, some negatives. The bartenders are a little green and didn’t seem to know how to make some of the more standard drinks. This will change as they become more experienced. Kids… I know that this place is a «Sports Bar» and is technically kid friendly, but I just feel weird having kids walking around and exposed to all the adults drinking and frankly, just being adults. Anyways, there was even a server that seemed to have her kid there and yes, it was late in the morning, but I really don’t want to be around children at a bar. I assume that kids are not allowed after a certain time, but I don’t know. You might feel different about kids and bars, and I respect that. LOUD. Sorry to have back to back rants, but I can’t help it. The TV/Music audio is way too loud. I realize that when the place is packed that the volume needs to be increased, but when I was there, it was not crowded and the volume was so loud that we had to shout our order to the bartender. To escape the noise we sat in the middle room with tables. I feel sorry for the workers because at the end of the night, their ears must ring like they were at a rock concert. Alright, in closing, a great addition to the Cheviot bar scene. I dig the outdoor area and could see myself chilling with friends but hope that the place is not overrun with children. Bars are not daycare centers. I’ll be back for a weekend or night visit soon. Welcome to the neighborhood, best of luck to you.
