We went there today for my goddaughter birthday. We had a great time. The hibachi chef was fun. The waiter was attentive and polite. Very clean establishment. Go with a group cause there is a lot of food to share.

Been coming here for a couple of years since Kotos closed. Sushi is decent. Service is slow most times but lunch seems better. Quality of Hibachi is just average. It’s a good alternative to the other local food services but that is not saying much.

We went there a few days ago and it was great. My husband had the hibachi filet and it was amazing. I had the salmon and tuna sashimi and it was great. The atmosphere was so cool, they had a Koi pond in the restaurant. Service was also great. We will definitely go there again.

BeniWHO… I can honestly say this place deserves 5 stars for my dining experience… Our bartender/waitress was very polite and helpful, every sushi roll we got with delicious… They don’t have to smother it with spicy mayonnaise to hide the bad quality grade sushi like not to mention names.ahem. cloud 9. Last but not least the miso soup and house salad which may I add came with the meal. Was a winner. A very underrated restaurant I recommend to any.

Terrible food, terrible service! Food overcooked, forgot the eggs in the fried rice, this place has gone completely downhill. They lost a customer who used to frequent the restaurant often.

First of all, we only come here for the sushi. and so far it’s always been delicious. We also always go when it’s half priced which is great. Service varies. We usually get fairly good service, however, one waiter completely neglected us one night, so I can’t quite say it’s always good.

Worst service I have ever had in a restaurant to date. Manager gave us «incorrect» menus at door for lunch(they gave us lunch menus, it was around 1:30pm) and gave us dinner prices when we received our bill. When we questioned the bill, we were rudely confronted by the same woman who said«why would you expect lunch prices in the afternoon? It’s after noon.» Ended up getting a slight reduction in cost. Never will go back, ever. Sushi was terrible. Go to Dancing Roll in West Chester for sushi if you want it delicious and cheap. Should have known Eastgate would have been a joke for a sushi joint. Truly 0 stars.

I give Fugi 3 stars because I will say that I still enjoyed my meal. Here was my problem. This restaurant has had ½ price sushi and appetizers for as long as I have been going there. We went to dinner last night with friends and our bill was high. We noticed nothing we ordered was ½ off. When we asked, the already terrible server who rushed our order, forgot to order part of it so we never got it and was slow to bring drinks, never told us that the half price sushi was no longer on weekends. Were there signs? Yes, after he told us we looked for them. One on the door you don’t enter and one and the hostess station below her so when she greets you, your eyes never go down. I politely told him that he may want to mention the change when people are ordering so they are aware of the change if they had been regulars and didn’t know. He didn’t apologize. His response was to get and attitude and say«Well there was a sign». Dude, you already sucked and that’s what you have for me? FYI, our friends have had him a server before and said this is just how he was, he was not just having an off night and they knew our order was going to get messed up before they even sat down. For the first time ever, I did not tip. This was painful for us. To go from a 25% minimum tipper to nothing is not our nature. But he was that awful. So the moral of the story Fugi… please let your servers know that they should ask people«Have you been with us before?» And when they say«Yes», please make your guest aware of your pricing change. If not, then you just seem shady and people won’t return.

Went for appetizers and early dinner on a Friday. Had a a couple of drinks at the bar/sushi. Noticed they only have bottle beer… no draft. Full bar. drinks were fine. Appetizers were as well fine. The lobster roll was keeping me looking for lobster but taste was good. The dinner combo was also good to great. Well worth a trip and your money

The food here is pretty standard hibachi… Tasty if nothing else! It was a little on the expensive side though for what it was. A major word of warning: Do NOT eat hibachi here if you have an allergy to one of their usual ingredients! The concept of cross-contamination means nothing to them!!!

I’m a big fan of Fuji Steak House in Florence, particularly their sushi. It was refreshing to see a Japanese restaurant open for Eastsiders too. The outside of the restaurant does not do it justice. This building has been various BBQ joints in the past, and the exterior depicts that. Inside, however, is beautifully decorated with oriental themes and is very clean. Then the experience gets… interesting. As my family and I entered the restaurant, we were greeted by 1999 Britney Spears music but with Japanese vocals. Then the Hibachi chef arrived. He did the expected entertainment: playing with fire, juggling the kitchen tools, etc. Then he made an onion volcano, with flames rocketing into the air. Suddenly, he pulls out a little plastic man and presses on his head. The toy pulls down it’s pants and pees water on the onion volcano. The chef says, «Wee, wee, wee!» as he squirts both the fire and the customers. While the food is good, the restaurant is clearly marketed to a rural clientele who are likely experiencing their first Japanese restaurant. Urban folks and sushi aficionados will likely find Eastgate Fuji to be tacky. Price per person: $ 20.00

Great sushi, especially with the half-price. They have hibachi grills at many of the tables. Huge bar area for those who like to drink and watch sushi production. Will definitely return!

Best Feature: Love the interior! Good sushi! Worst Feature: Not as delicious as other Japanese steak houses. This business recently opened in the past year or so, and it wasn’t long after it opened that a friend and I headed out to check out this new restaurant. The interior is absolutely amazing — they have enclosed booths you can sit at, which make you feel like you’re sitting in your own mini room. They also have the hibachi grills where you can sit and watch your food prepared. I really enjoy how they decorated the place, and it is definitely inviting to anyone walking in. They have a great selection on their menu — the usual assortment of sushi, sashimi, hibachi, and more! Their prices are pretty average for a Japanese restaurant, and I believe they even have lunch specials! The few times I’ve been there, the service is almost always decent. I believe I’ve only had maybe two experiences where the service was less than desirable; otherwise it’s good! I did knock them down a star for that, though, as I know of several Japanese restaurants where the service is flawless — friendly, helpful, and attentive! They are always sure to greet you on your way in and thank you for the visit upon departure. I really love that extra effort to acknowledge customers! The food itself is good quality — the only complaint I have is I’m not a big fan of all of their sushi rolls, and it’s hard to go wrong with sushi for me. They give you a decent portion for the price, but it’s not always as appetizing. I knocked them down a star for that, which might seem extreme except I’ve been to several restaurants where every single dish is prepared wonderfully and tastes fantastic! If you’re in the area and want to check out a new hibachi restaurant, I’d definitely stop in! It’s worth a visit for sure.
