I won a gift card at a company party and place is closed. I’ve been there a few times before. The food wasn’t that great. Worse than Subway. They steam their sandwich.

Eh, it was okay, nothing extraordinary or special, just okay. I wouldn’t refuse to go again if someone wanted to, but its not first on my list if I felt the need for a sub.

Subway with fewer topping options and a butt load of hot sauces. Personally I don’t feel the need to add hot sauce to everything I eat so I’ll probably never be back. If your thing is going to a Subway with a butt load of hot sauce options but only a third of the sandwich toppings head here.

I don’t eat here often, but I always enjoy it when I do. I have tried most everything on the menu and it’s all good. I tried one of the lower calorie options this time. The turkey with cranberry sauce sandwich. Overall, it was good, although not as good as their normal offerings. And of course the Coke machine is great, being one of those 1 million possible choices touchscreen machines.

I’ve been to one Firehouse Sub location before and I enjoyed it. The kitchy firehouse motif plays well with the silly names for subs and make the experience kind of fun. This trip I went with the New York Steamer which has corned beef and cheese. On the way out I snagged some of Captain Sorensen’s sauce, a house brand hot BBQ sauce from the assortment of sauces on the counter. The sandwich was good. Expected quality really. The sauce took it up a notch, leading me to this three star rating. This is a place I can see myself visiting again with some coworkers for lunch, but I’m unlikely to go by myself.

Subs were not bad but the place was in serious need of cleaning. Tables needed to be wiped down, floor needed to be swept(badly) and there was part of someone’s sammich that only made it part way into the trash can. Plenty of employees around, but none of them seemed interested in cleaning the dining area.

I was pleasantly surprised with Firehouse Subs. The sandwiches are really, really good. Quality lunchmeat and cheese and fresh bread. Generously loaded and heated. My very, very picky husband was even impressed. Plus, it’s a really fun casual place to eat. Rows of hot sauce bottles, and the firehouse décor uses local firehouses which is nice. My kids also like the computer fountain drink machine which allows you to customize your own flavor with hundreds of possibilities. Good, quick food with a fun, unique experience.

I was out shopping with my mom and we wanted to try something a little different for lunch. So, we tried out Firehouse Subs. The have a vegetarian sub, but it seems to come with things I don’t like, plus a lot of cheese. I did find out that it is easily changed up to include what I like. I thought it was a little pricey for what it was, but at least it was different from Subway. The best thing about it was the cool Coke fountain, which has multiple options of flavorings. Since the first time, I’ve eaten here several times and each time my sandwich is a little different, but good. Definitely get the combo, as it is a decent value. The drink that comes with it would be a large any where else, but is a medium here.

This is my favorite sub chain, without question. What makes them so special? Is it the toasted quality of the sandwich? Sure, that’s terrific but not terribly different from Quiznos? Is it the ingredients? I have to admit, I like being able to choose from over 50 different hot sauces to raise the alarm on my fire! No, what makes Firehouse stand out among the crowd of sandwich shops is the presence of the Coca-Cola Freestyle soda fountain. If you haven’t been exposed to Freestyle, then you are missing a treat! You can design your own soda from over 100 different choices. As a diabetic, I’m always disappointed with the lack of sugar-free beverage choices at most quick-serve restaurants. There are 6 Fanta-Zero flavors alone! I like mixing Fanta-Zero raspberry with the lime flavor. Other times, I’ll try some Coke Zero and Fanta Zero Fruit Punch. I NEVER get tired of this innovative approach to beverage design! Add to this some tasty subs(I always opt for a whole wheat roll) and you have a winning combination!

I honestly came to the firehouse sub shop to try out the freestyle coke machine, however I was surprised to find that subs were pretty good. I had the cheddar beef brisket sub and tried some of the Italian sub. The only odd thing about this place is they try to put mayo on both subs. Kinda weird… spicy Italian with mayo and a BBQ sub with mayo just sound weird.

I first found Firehouse Subs in Boulder, CO and loved it there. Now that I live and work in Cincinnati, I was happy to see a Firehouse right next to my office. Before I go into why I like the sandwiches, I’d like to say that the manager here is a very nice guy. «Welcome to Firehouse» is something you’ll hear from at least one team member when you enter the restaurant. I’ve tried at least 5 of the different subs offered here and just love every one. The Club on a Sub is great if you want some bacon on your sandwich. The Hook & Ladder is another favorite. The steaming of meats and cheeses is a unique taste and keeps me coming back to Firehouse. There’s always a lot of parking at this location and the restaurant is clean with plenty of tables. The soda machine here is one of those big red Coke machines that has 120+ drink options. Try the Grape Sprite!

My first Firehouse sub was in Florida, so I was excited to see the franchise is finally opening up locations in Ohio. The experience at this location was the same as Florida, a really good sandwich. The nice thing about Firehouse is the 8-inch sub is perfect for lunch. It is not a heavy sandwich, and you don’t feel like you have to run a couple of miles to feel normal again. The Firehouse sandwich is very good, and the service has been good every time. Only disappointment is that they have the same chips as every other sub shop, so nothing really unique about the combo meal. For local sub shops, it’s easily in the top 5.

Finally, A favoritve from other cities. Good Subs. Delivery on the other hand. Slow. Staff seems disorganized. Could be opening kinks.
