First time to this Dewey’s and first time dining in at any Dewey’s. Saturday afternoon and not busy. Of course you’re always much more likely to get good service during times when a place is not busy, and that’s what we got. I liked the pizza as well — half cheese and half another vegetarian option. Walked in, and despite the«seat yourself» sign, a cordial employee(I think he may be the manager) greeted us and told us we could grab a seat anywhere. He could have easily not acknowledged us and I would not have faulted the place too much given the sign; but he did and it made us feel quite welcome. The same guy saw me taking a close look at the beer tap handles as I walked by the bar and as we chose a table he asked me if I had any questions. I asked about their cleverly named house beer. I asked who brewed it. The answer: Mt. Carmel Brewing. He asked if I’d like a sample which of course I did. I then saw that sitting on our neat, clean table was a menu describing all the beers they carry. If I suspected I’d find that, I wouldn’t have bothered him with the question. Every employee with whom we interacted on this visit was top notch. They have their act together as far as I can tell. They cheerfully agreed to include a side of red sauce and a side of the«white» sauce upon our request. My wife has learned to ask for side sauce because I hate pizza that’s skimpy on the sauce(or cheese for that matter). I never claimed to be a sophisticated food guy. I was in food paradise as I took to dipping each bite of pizza in the sauce which consisted of olive oil and lots of chunks of garlic(and maybe some butter product, though I hope not for my arteries’ sake). I always like to include in my reviews whether or not the drinking water is filtered. As far as we could tell it is — no chlorine smell or taste. We really enjoyed our experience at this Dewey’s and I will seek to give them another try next time we get the chance.

THE best pizza in town. But, I’m also from California so maybe I haven’t been to all the pizza joints around here lol The dough is so yummy! Something about it and I wish I knew what it was so I can make it at home. I really like the green lantern, the Yukon(baked potato — seasonal item), and the good ol’ pepperoni pizza. I’ve tried the Edgar Allen Poe and although I’m a fan of his work, I can’t say I’m a fan of his pizza. But who knows, maybe you’ll like it! I’ve also had their peppercorn ranch salad(good, but I personally like a lot of salad dressing. I’ve ordered it a few times now, and each time I crave more dressing on the side). The seasonal strawberry/balsamic salad is also delicious! This is more of a fruity taste(hence the strawberries). Definitely check it out! There is street parking and two lots available. Sometimes it’s a long wait, but you can sit at the bar. Nice workers that are super friendly and attentive! Ooooo ahhh.

Literally the best service I have ever had! The staff was very bright, and lovely. The restaurant was spotless, music was great. The pizza was the perfect sauce to topping ratio and also, the craft beer and cake to top the experience off made it perfect. Fabulous environment, delicious food, excellent service. I will return, even from 5 hours away!

I already reviewed Dewey but there is one thing that happened that I want to tell. Once I went to deweys in Ludlow and my pizza was a bit burned, i wouldn’t complain because it was nothing to evident just a little bit. When the waiter came with the pizza she told me «i know it’s a bit burned but start eating because I have another one making already» and they gave me a whole new pizza! Best customer service ever! I was starving by the way do bringing the first pizza was a master idea.

Long story short: Dewey’s is our favorite casual pizza, and the Clifton location is our favorite Dewey’s. Just FYI, «half» size salads are actually large enough to split between 2 people, and all the salads are delicious. Our fave pizzas are Meatball, X-Pepperoni(not always on the menu but still available), Southwest BBQ Chicken, Bronx Bomber(without mushrooms), Ryan’s Inferno(celery on the side because only my husband will eat that devil food), Tito Santana(summer seasonal), Dr. Dre(jalapeños on the side because I’m a spice wuss), and Bleu Ribbon(seasonal take on cordon bleu). Also, they recently bought the parking lot across the way, so parking should be easy now!

Do you like goat cheese? Then you’ll love Dewey’s. Whoever this Dewey person was, he must have been a huge fan of goat cheese, because it’s featured on maybe 50% of the menu! The salads are an awesome balance of flavors and textures. I would def come here just for the house salad! But why do that when the pizza is so great? Favorites are the green lantern and the Edgar Allen poe. Such interesting and delicious flavor combos!(Of course they both contain goat cheese) If you’re a more traditional pizza type of person, the Bronx bomber and the southwest BBQ chicken are always winners. The décor/ambiance is somewhat generic and there is only one TV at this location. Service is always good. Great place to bring a large group for lunch or dinner. Everyone will get to try something they like! Don’t like goat cheese? No worries, that just means more for me.

Dewey’s, my beloved Dewey’s, I can never get enough or your deliciousness. From your salads to desserts, everything you do is magical. I normally visit the Oakley location, but this one in the Gaslight is also top notch. After a busy day in Eden Park, I went in for an early dinner. Thankfully, Dewey’s has a parking lot just across the road and I snagged a spot. Unusual for a Sat night, I also was seated immediately. This visit was off to a spectacular start! I ordered the small(side), harvest salad which is an amazing, seasonal offering. A luscious pile of greens with pumpkin seeds, figs, Boursin cheese, and bacon(but not for this vegetarian) dressed with apple cider vinaigrette. I washed it down with a Warped Wing, cream ale from Dayton, OH. The beer and wine menu is small, but well chosen. Many local offerings makes the list even more interesting. I’ve never ventured from my favorite pizzas, so I decided to be adventurous and go for a calzone. The large crescent comes stuffed with mozzarella and ricotta. You then get to select three other ingredients(including any of the gourmet options). I went with mixed mushrooms, whole garlic(roasted), and artichokes. Sides of white sauce, which is olive oil with crushed garlic, and marinara make the calzone saucy. Desserts from Bonbonnerie were tempting, but I was as stuffed as my calzone after that meal. You’ll never be disappointed with Dewey’s — fun atmosphere, delicious pizza, good prices, and great service make it a winner every time!

Soooo happy I came here for dinner! I was craving pizza and this was one of the restaurants I hadn’t tried yet. A short 3 minute drive from where my bf and I live is a plus. We were greeted by a really nice waitress who explained the menu to us and a few of her favorites. Everything sounded delish! But we decided to get custom calzones… sooo good! The dough was fluffy yet crispy in the outside and it wasnt bland. You get to choose up to 3 toppings which is perfect. The calzone is so flavorful that I even forgot I had the marinara sauce. However the highlight of my experience here was the Harvest Salad(Field Greens with fresh Figs, Applewood Bacon, Pumpkin Seeds, and Boursin Cheese tossed with Apple Cider Honey Vinaigrette.) I dont know what Boursin cheese is since I’ve never had it but ohh boyyy! I want it in all my salads… So soft and creamy! It was such a great mix of ingredients! The crispy, salty bacon, the sweet figs, the sweet dressing and the pumpkin seeds complemented eachother so well, I was truly impressed. I am happy I opted for a different salad, so sad that its seasonal lol. Overall, awesome experience at Deweys! I will be back for some more and maybe next time I’ll try the pizza :)

Yummy! Dewey’s has fantastic cuisine and drinks. I enjoy their calzone and house salad. One cool thing: they team serve. It really ensures that you’re always taken care of and your drinks are never empty.

Even with the overload of pizza restaurants in the Clifton area, this tucked away Dewey’s has been able to weather the economic storms over the year as one of the best/nicest options in the area. Their location hides between a Skyline Chili and J. Gumbo’s in the Ludlow area, but provides a private lot and a few off street spots(metered locations). Forewarning, the lot they offer is narrow, with many cars making awkward turns to pull in and out and avoid hitting other cars. If you can find something on the street and pay the meter, get it. Sometimes it is just not worth trying to jigsaw your way into that parking lot puzzle. Their pizza, in all honesty, is phenomenal. They have a variety of specialty house pizzas(like buffalo chicken, Hawaiian, vegetable, and BBQ), but also allow customization and provide a build-your-own option. Dewey’s also has a seasonal salad and pizza available for their customers as well. During my first Dewey’s experience(a couple of years ago), they had the Don Corleone pizza and I fell in love! It was the perfect layering of mozzarella, capicola, salami, pepperoni, and oregano. Part of their mantra, as well, is to allow customers to do half-and-half’s of any of their pizzas. This makes ordering much easier when you have a group or two people with different pizza preferences. At my lunch today, I split a medium pizza with one half Ryan’s Inferno(buffalo chicken pizza with a white sauce) and the other half Hawaiian(pepperoni and pineapple with a red sauce). My most favorite part of Dewey’s, however, is the salads. Their Caesar and Candied Walnut Grape salads are probably my favorite within the city. The lettuce is always fresh and crispy, the salad«accessories»(cheese, croutons, walnuts, grapes) have the perfect proportion to each other and the lettuce itself, and the dressing is just right. Not too much or not enough. Just right. I have to imagine they are tossed freshly for each order and that this(and other Dewey’s) invest a good amount of time in training a salad chef. For the money, I definitely think it is worth stopping by and trying the Dewey’s experience. Splitting a 13-inch pizza(medium) and a regular salad will run a total bill of about $ 26 and is easily enough for two people to share. They also have local beer and wine options for $ 4 – 6, perfect compliments to any pizza or salad you decide on!

Modest on the outside but amazing inside! Great location! Who knew such goodness was hiding in this small street. Very very very good harvest salad, the pumpkin seeds, boursin and crunchy greens go incredibly well together! So cool you can do half/half pizza there, makes it easy when you are a party of 2! The pie itself is delicious, crunchy and thin, really good. We were very happy with the toppings, there was nothing left to take home, so delicious! Also, extremely good service. Fast, helpful, attentive and very patient when you try to make up your mind! Impressive! Great place!

On birthday day many choose something fancy but i really was craving Dewey’s awesome salad & calzone. House salad was deliciously fresh & calzone was full of ingredients with extra cheese. They offered their unique Bonbonerie cheesecake & top off my quick lunch with a Free Dewey’s glass as a birthday gift. It was a great quick birthday lunch. Thank you!

This place has some pretty awesome pizza. You can go with something fancy and unusual like Socrates Revenge, or something simple like pepperoni — either way you’re gonna be impressed. They also feature a seasonal pizza that’s usually worth trying. And, of course, there’s also create your own, which gives you a million different toppings and even choice of sauce. They also have out-of-this-world salads! About eight years ago, I hated salads. They were bland and sometimes even yucky. But then I tried Dewey’s Grape and Candied Walnut and my life was changed. You also have the option of adding chicken to any salad. Also, I can’t remember the name of the seasonal salad that’s on the menu in the fall, but it’s pretty fantastic — bacon, figs and Boursin cheese. It’s usually worth asking what they have for dessert because each location has something different based on what sweet places are nearby. On my most recent visit, they had carrot cake from The Bonbonnerie. On my most recent trip home I visited this location twice in the same week. Both times we had very solid service.

Always a solid choice be it here on Hosea or the Newport Levee. Never had a bad pie there yet, particularly like the Don Corleone seasonal. Very extensive white pizza selection as well. Typically, a 17″ is plenty for 2 reasonable ppl, but a go-box later, and presto chango, you’re happy once more. Excellent staff, prompt, courteous, professional. More or less what the gold standard of a pizzeria should be.

Dewey’s makes a mighty fine pie! Came in with a group of 7 on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised to be seated within 5 minutes. We started with some salads, which were really tasty. The Greek had a roasted red pepper vinaigrette, which was to die for. The large salads are definitely enough for 2 – 3 to share. As for the pizzas, we got 2 large pizzas and split them in half. I don’t remember the official names of the kind that we got but I know one was buffalo chicken, one was meatball, one was artichoke pesto, and one was bbq. The buffalo was my favorite as it was quite spicy and had ranch and celery on it. Others at the table really enjoyed the pesto artichoke, but I did not try a slice of that. The service was very good and they have a lot of local beers on tap. My only complaint was the atmosphere. For such a good quality meal, the atmosphere was a bit cold. Don’t get me wrong, that won’t keep me from trying Dewey’s on a future trip to Cincy. Pizza paradise!

I’ve come here a few times since I was an itty bitty freshman at UC, but today I discovered their Wild Mushroom pizza! Mushroom lovers — this is your calling, you need to try this at least once before you die. There are 3(4?) types of mushrooms COVERED on a garlic-moz-fontina bedding, with some extra sprinkles of red pepper. Man, do they go well together! That’s the great thing about Dewey’s, the flavors complement each other so well, so you really can’t go wrong with any of their specialty pizzas. My other favorites include Green Lantern, because I can’t say«no» to artichokes, and Ryan’s Inferno + ranch. The only thing that sort of bothers me is that there’s a really thick crust — don’t get me wrong, it’s well baked, but I’d prefer more toppings over two inches of dough. For reference, the 17″ can probably feed 3 grown adults comfortably(but I personally love cold pizza leftovers!). Another plus: Dewey’s truly prides itself on being Cincinnati-born, even carrying desserts from local bakeries, like BonBonerie! Definitely feels great to support another local business that has lately been expanding across state lines!

Great service. I love the ample vegetarian options like the Edgar Allan Poe and Socrates’ Revenge. Sitting at the bar is a nice option, although the awkward shape makes for some funky corners and unusable spaces. Dewey’s tends to under cook their pizza. I pretty much always ask for it well done nowadays.

The Skyline Chili of pizza. Dewey’s must be just a local thing — pizza you enjoy when you’re young, and you maintain this nostalgic link with it as you grow older. As a person not from the area who lacks this nostalgic link, I can honestly say that the pizza was unremarkable. I’ve had Dewey’s pizza on three different occasions and was unimpressed, each time. There are quite a few better spots locally to go for pizza; so, I will probably never eat here again. Nice servers though.

This is a great location with some awesome local beers on tap. This is one of the staples of Gaslight Clifton and really holds up the Dewey’s Pizza name. One thing unique to this location is the awesome side street its located on and the great area you can walk around before or after your trip. This location also has a private lot NEXT to the Skyline lot(do not park int eh skyline lot!). The servers are also SO incredible and nice the entire experience. When you walk in you see the glass walls looking into the kitchen. Its so fun and cute to watch the kids run up to the window where the pizza chefs usually throw flour at the window or make funny faces that just make the kids so excited. I am trying to say this is one example of how the staff goes out of their way for their costumers. This continues to when you leave when literally EVERY staff member you pass genuinely wishes you a good night and thanks you. Fun Tip: Check out their specialty pizza of the month, its always interesting and normally delicious! This month the specialty pizza has blue cheese, jam, bacon, caramelized onions, need I say more?! Come visit Clifton and get a bite at Dewey’s.
