This is my first stop before I go to Lowe’s. They almost always have what I need, are mostly helpful, and I like the coupons I get in the mail. Most of all I like the excellent fastener selection. They actually have stainless steel, metric nuts and bolts INSTOCK! And the small, but compete tool selection means I can usually find that odd tool I need at odd hours without having to drive to HF or NT. They can be a bit more expensive, however I don’t have to waste time driving all around town.

I’ll be the first to admit I generally go to the bigger box hardware store with orange everywhere, the other I boycott for political reasons but that’s another story. Ace is the place when I need some bizarre fastener, a single machine screw or a key made. They tend to be a little pricey on some things that the bigger shops sell a billion of, but they are small, easy to navigate and the people are the same ones that helped me when I went there 17 months ago when I needed one of those doohickeys to fix that thing.
