I’ve been going to Pancho’s for the last 1.5 years and they are sincerely the nicest people. They have a great selection, but when they don’t carry something I want, they’ve routinely offered to order it for me and given me a discount on what I ended up getting. All the people are helpful and knowledgable and always nice about it. Thursday is ladies day which is awesome — never known a liquor store to have a ladies day. Last but certainly not least — I have a weird habit of trying to convince my friends that it’s actually pronounced«pan-cho’s» and the people play along now and call it that. It’s just a fun, laid back place to get your booze — check it out.

Stopped in the other night for some(shameless plug) COOPF5. Large beer and wine selection. Not exactly an intuitive layout, but not a big deal for this one time visit. Friendly checker, wearing a(shameless plug) COOPF5 T-Shirt. Brief, pleasant small talk ensued. Overall, no negatives and they had what I wanted. Good enough for me.

After much careful thought, I’ve decided to drop my review by a full two stars. The only people who are friendly here are the guys doing the stocking. The people working the register(who seem to be owners, managers, etc), almost never even speak to me. Since we’ve moved nearby, this is my on-the-way-home stopover, but apparently there’s no such thing as becoming a regular. I was in line the other day when a cashier talked to the couple in front of me the whole time. I almost jumped in, it seemed like such a casual and fun conversation. They were talking about a popular local restaurant(something I know a thing or two about). But the opportunity didn’t present, so I patiently waited my turn. When they were all paid up and I set my things down, the cashier’s entire demeanor changed. She didn’t speak to me, could barely muster a response to my, «How’s your evening going?» I’m not sure what I did to deserve that, since my main role here involves grinning at everyone while I spend money. I’ve been in several times when I’ve bought a lot — a trunk load of booze for a party or for our perpetual stockpile. I can count on two fingers the times someone has helped me out to my car. They package it up without speaking to you, without offering to help, and most egregiously, without thanking you. I’ll probably shop at Sean’s since it’s just up the road and they seem to enjoy their customers.

The beer selection was okay. The whiskey/bourbon choices were decent. Prices were comparable to other stores.

This gets 5 stars because as a liquor beer/liquor derp, it satisfied me enough. It’s a fairly large store and has your regular wine, beer, mixes, liquor, etc. I am very, very pleased that they have Strongbow and Angry Orchard. I don’t think those ciders are particularly rare or anything, but they’re my jam so hurrah! The staff is most decidedly… well, you know the name of the joint and it is not that. It sort of made me giggle. Two rocker dudes were at one counter, and then what looked to be the owner or manager checked my boyfriend and I out.

I love this place. Went back to pick up a few odds and ends this week, I just love the service. The staff is nice, helpful, and usually has very good recommendations. And I still can’t get over the great prices!

What, nobody has reviewed Pancho’s yet? The booze here is cheap and there are(usually) not very many scary menacing alcoholics roaming the place. Selection is good, but not great… but good enough for your usual drinking needs. I’d give it five stars if they had a wider variety of beers.
