I can only attest the the amazing pork tacos but if the drinks and rest of the menu is half as good, then it’s worth stopping in for absolutely any reason. The 3 tacos are stuffed with the most delicious juicy pulled pork I’ve ever had and I don’t say that lightly. 2 will leave you satisfied but they serve up 3 to leave you 100% satisfied but somehow before too long you’ll be wanting more. I recommend sharing the well and sharing one so that everyone can experience the greatness. I will definitely be back for more soon.

Great beer selection. Loved the ability to try before you buy. Will be back every time I am in town.

If you like craft beer, you’re sure to like this place. A large number of beers on tap with employees happy to help you figure out what you might like and get you a couple samples before you commit to a beer. The atmosphere was very good inside, but we chose to sit outside and eat pizza from Empire(just a couple doors down) as the kitchen had closed at 8pm for everything except apps. The seating outside consists of a few picnic tables which were fine except one was horribly warped on top, good luck eating or keeping your beer from tipping over. The only real issue was a group of nasty looking bugs infesting the concrete/stone planter next to the table we sat at. I went to sit on the edge of it and realized that it wasn’t just dirt, but rather large bugs all grouped together. The planter is probably city property, but with it only being 15 feet or so from the front door, Oak & Ore might want to see what they can to do to get rid of them before they do make their way inside.

Finally got to check out this place on a Friday evening. This review is a 4 star, because I feel differently about the food and beer. I was highly unimpressed with the food. I ordered a cubano sandwich with succotash. The succotash was hot, I was seriously surprised! I’m not familiar with this side dish, but it would be 1000x better cold. The sandwich was decent but not special or stood out. I should have ordered a pizza from empire slice two doors down and ate that. The beer did impress, fortunately. 36 rotating taps is great. I had the Anderson valley basil IPA, a hibiscus gose from boulevard(not always easy to find), and tasted the ruby. Obviously on a Friday this place will be packed. It was LOUD. But we sat outside and that was perfect! I’m not a fan of places where you can hardly hear your neighbor speaking, but I will absolutely be back for the selection of beer. I love that I can bring my dog to a patio where you’ll probably find other dogs walking. Lastly, the customer service. Didn’t stand out but didn’t particularly stink. For being as busy as they were I believe they got to me as fast as possible.

Really amazing – incredible selection of beer, cool aesthetic and atmosphere, really friendly staff, always has people and energy. This place has a great vibe. They let you taste for free, too, before you order(beer). Also, one time I had an appetizer – chips and white bean dip, and it was really astounding. I highly recommend this place.

Great spot with a whopping 36 beers on tap(on regular rotation). I suggest ordering small sipping glasses(a third of the price), three to a person to sample a wider selection. Any given evening, the menu will be full of delicious IPAs(go Double IPA for extra hops), refreshing light beer(blonde ales, wheats, hefeweisens), a perfect amber or two all the way to more obscure fare(take, for example, the Gose, sour things that taste like a mistake). Thanks to this strategy, my knowledge of beer has improved massively. Also, the food has improved massively since they opened so don’t shy away from eating here(though you almost never see anybody ordering food, perhaps because of their kitchen’s rocky start).

Tried this place after brother in law recomended. Great restaurant, I enjoyed the simple small menu with reinvented classics. The décor of the place was great also. We will definitely be back. This place is a keeper!

WHATISTHISPLACE!!! I screamed as I entered Oak & Ore, disrupting their awesomely cool ambiance of ‘beer connoisseur’. Excitement aside, I was very surprised that I had not yet checked this place out. The Plaza District is home to some GREAT eats and I was happy to put this on my list of ‘foodie’s paradise.‘ Who decorated this place??? Because I couldn’t stop staring. Every bit of design had been thought out and it looks like it can hold quite a few people. There are definitely more seats in Oak & Ore than parking spaces in the Plaza, and that makes me happy. Spoiler Alert: BEERWALL. I wasn’t going to tell you and just let you stumble into this beauty, but there is a BEERWALL here. YES, a beer wall. Thirty-six beautiful beers are on tap from you to choose from. THIRTY-SIX. That’s more than you can taste in one day! Unless you’re really determined. Being the 5 foot human that I am, I just had one beer and boy did I choose the right one.(Actually, my husband picked it for me… I don’t know anything about beer.) But I can tell you the La Chouffe was amazing! For those of you that don’t frequently drink beer, go with this! It’s a lovely golden ale that is so perfect, I thought about replacing my morning coffee with it. THAT’s how delightful and smooth it is. Delicate, can we use delicate to describe a beer? It was delicate but not diluted, don’t expect any bud lights here. This place has the real deal. Annnnd just when you thought I was done… we ate food too! Yep. And thanks to the recommendation by Julie S. of the chicken and biscuits, we got to experience heaven. Buttery flakey biscuit holding precious delicious fried chicken meat drizzled in honey. If that didn’t make your mouth water, I don’t know what will. What was so perfect about this, is the simplicity. No extra sauces, no artisan this or that, just great amazing simple(but really really good) food that pairs so well with your beer. Go here. Your heart needs it. Be free my little beer enthusiast for this is your Mecca. XoXo, B.

Where was this place when I lived in Oklahoma six years ago?! This place would fit right in, in a place like Portland, OR… In fact, the whole Plaza District looks like it’s straight-outta-Portland. When I liked in OKC, there was NOTHING going on here. I take back the Portland comment, the service here is way better than any place I’ve ever been in PDX! Seriously, the service was incredible. Fantastic beer on tap. Lots of taps, and not a tap wasted to Bud/Miller/Coors swill. Ambiance is great and the food is pretty solid as well. I mainly drank«Bikinis» when I was here. Mega hoppy 2.7% abv session IPA’s.

I am new to Oak & Ore, not being a current resident of OKC(but I am a native) and I can tell you that the servers are first-class when it comes to service, manners and knowledge of their product. When they can keep a smiley face after being asked«What do you have that’s similar to a Coors Light?» from a new customer who has no knowledge of craft beer and respond with a polite menu of options, meanwhile I am «ahem”-ing all over the place, then you know these guys have got a super professional attitude. The variety of beers are incredible, globe-spanning and beautifully served. A great place to meet friends at the beginning of the evening or before you hit another Plaza District joint nearby. Well done!

Visited a few months ago and just realized I forgot to review! 5 stars for the beer selection 4 stars for the food 3 stars for service on the night we visited My husband and I both had sandwiches. I believe his was a french dip and I had the cuban. Both good. Not mind blowing, but solid nonetheless. The hot fries with beer cheese are a must have. They taste just like the chip version in a bag, but so much better!

Been here many times, as beer makes me really happy — and Oak & Ore has an excellent varying rotation of 36 draft beers with plenty of local options in addition to great beers from parts not near. Been putting off the review because I really want it to be awesome. It’s just not though. It definitely has the beer part down, great choices and knowledgeable(if not super friendly) staff. Food is solid. Valiant attempt at pushing the boundaries of bar food a little past the OKC trendy bar norm. What kind of sucks: the vibe & décor. When it is slammed it’s fine because the energy of all the people bring it up, but come in by yourself and you’re a little let down. It’s a little too empty & cafeteria like. They missed the minimalistic, trendy aim point… Also, the service is average at best — when the beer and neighborhood deserve more.

The atmosphere and location are great! I finally got to visit Oak & Ore this past Friday after having dinner at The Mule. Walked right in and didn’t have any trouble finding some seats for our party of three. I was very surprised at how many draft beers they had — so many options! I got a glass of pinot noir and it was delicious… can’t remember the name but it was I think $ 9? A little pricey for a glass of wine at a place like this, but I didn’t mind! The atmosphere was great — not too loud, not too quite, very comfortable. We sat at a big high bar top table in the middle of the restaurant. And the service was great. We ordered drinks and waited at our table for them and between the time we ordered and received or drinks we were asked twice, by two different people, if we had been helped!

Came on a Tuesday evening for drinks. Sat at the bar and had excellent service. I wish I could remember who helped us but they were great. I love to get suggestions from staff so I told them no IPA, but open to anything else! I started with the Bikini sour and my friend got a flight. You can order 4 oz. sizes in any quantity. We got to try quite a few on the board. Ordered the cheese plate too which is just a given. The display is so pretty too! Excellent evening and service. Always reminded how much I love his place each time I go!

I love everything about this place! The atmosphere is casual and comfortable and the beer selection is impressive! I’m more of a wine girl and they even have a few options for me. They also know how to make flavorful and unusual cocktails so there’s truly something for everyone. Now on to the food. I ordered the chicken biscuit and it was to die for! The chicken was seasoned well and was fried to perfection! At our table, we had someone order the artisanal cheese board, the salted pretzel, and the white bean dip. All were outstanding! The cheese board had interesting array of cheeses and all were served on a bed of pesto along with some toasted bread and dried fruits. Yum! I liked the pretzel, but it was your standard pretzel served with beer cheese; it was good, but nothing special. The white bean dip was the real surprise. It was topped with chili oil, but which gave it a little bit of heat and a really nice flavor. Love that it was served with seasoned tortilla chips(which looked homemade, but maybe they weren’t)! I will be back and will try other things on the menu as I’ve not been disappointed by anything yet!

Finally, a visit to a state that rivals Kansas in dumb liquor laws. Apparently in Oklahoma – I’m not local, but my friend and I drove as fast as we could to get here – you can operate a brewery but you can’t sell your own products on tap. Stoopid. Enter Oak and Ore, the kind of place that *is* allowed to sell said liquid product which is, oh, 99% water. OK, OK, I Unilocaled them ahead of time but mostly got some darn fine advice from the locals, and you know what? You folks know what the hell what you’re talking about. I like this place. I could be a regular here. Forget counseling and medication. Beer makes everything better! And oh my gawd, the people working here can’t be nicer. Regular folks that clearly have a passion for their jobs. «Here, try this.» Why sure! «If you like that you might like this!» Heck yea! «You might not like that one if unless you like … «OK! But, more than that. The place has a great vibe, the beers are wide and varied(though on our visit mostly on the big, bold, heavy side) and the food we sampled? Sublime. Myself I started with the Rarh and sons iron thistle strong scotch ale, followed that with a Stillwater classique saison and finished with a Founders backwoods bastard barrel aged scotch ale(say that three times after three pints? dare you). I lied. I had to have a small draw of Duvel Belgian ale on tap before departing. Food: we both felt like salads to follow with a spectacular cheese board. I had the spinach salad with salmon, my friend the kale salad. Man, perfect. Not everyone does a salad that well. A long and friendly conversation ensued with the manager and one of the serving staff, another reason why this is the kind of place I want to experience every time I go out, but rarely do. Why can’t I find a place like this in all of New York City or Queens where I travel to often? So, Oklahoma, when I return, Oak and Ore is at top of my list. Save me a table.

After coming here since it opened more than a year ago, I feel as though I’ve finally gotten a good enough grasp on what Oak & Ore has to offer that I can now review it! Firstly, their beer selection is top notch. 36 taps of beer that is not easily found elsewhere. They get a lot of one off kegs also. Each time you visit, there will undoubtedly be a new beer on the list that you haven’t tried. I appreciate that their beer menu lists the name, company, style of beer, alcohol content and price, basically everything you need to know before deciding which one you want. They also let you sample before buying if you’re curious whether you’ll like something. I have gotten to try a variety of their menu since it’s been revamped. Their fried chicken is great along with the biscuits. The chicken mole is very good too. They have a smaller brunch menu, but the smothered clucker doesn’t disappoint. I most recently had the pork fried pie from the brunch menu and it was pretty good but I can’t say I’d order it again. I will say their fries and soft pretzels go nicely with the beer. The beer cheese is delicious. And they do have more than only beer. Plenty of brunch cocktails to choose from including mimosas of course. Oak & Ore is a great place to find new beers and has fun release parties!

Drinks: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Cleanliness: 5⁄5 Décor & Style: 5⁄5 There are very few true craft beer pubs in OKC so it makes this place an easy 5⁄5 overall! HUGE selection and very roomy. In addition they give you as many samples as you need! Great location as well so you can grab something to eat just about anywhere in the Plaza. I haven’t tried the food here yet but I will definitely be back!

I had been wanting to try this place for a while but assumed children were not allow due to the concept. I only found out last month that kids are absolutely allowed and they have a kids menu for them(unfortunately not shown on their website, but there is a pic of it on their instagram). First, the concept is awesome — 36 live taps of craft beer. If you’re unsure of what you want, you can get samples to help make your decision. Obviously it should go without saying but I will say it anyway… don’t be that jerk who just goes for free samples. Since I prefer stout, I tried a couple different ones and ultimately chose Left Hand’s Fade to Black, which I loved. The food left something to be desired in some areas. The fries were great. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I also loved the pretzel with the beer cheese. I got the hickory smoked chicken biscuit. The flavors worked all really well together and I loved that it came drizzled with honey. The problem was the the chicken was chewy… as in that«not quite fully cooked» chewy. So I brought it home as leftovers and put it in the oven for a bit which helped a lot. My husband had the street tacos. Whatever it was cooked in pretty much poured out of each taco and onto the plate, leaving the plate almost looking like a soup bowl. It drenched the tortillas and the overwhelming amount of it left a kind of off taste to the meat. Had there been less of it, I bet it would have been fantastic. Service was very friendly, and I think if not for those couple of food issues, I would have given it five stars. And for this mama in me that wants to try new places without always having to get a babysitter to do so, I love that this place is kid friendly!

Located in the Plaza District, an up and coming hipster area, this place is a great joint to grab a good Craft beer. Wth 36 on tap, you will find something you like! I can’t comment on the food since we came here post dinner, but we did see some folks eating and the food looked good. We sat at the bar and each tried a beer we had not had before. The place is hip and fun. Definitely worth stopping in.
