One of my favorite places to dine. Attire is causal to formal and the atmosphere is quite intimate although close. Wait staff are the best… knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive… fun! Excellent wine and beer menu… wonderfully menu and I highly recommend everyone try the baked Brie at least once in their lifetime. One of the very best values in the entire mid-west.

The food was great! The only issue I had was that I made a reservation ahead of time, however we were sat right by the kitchen and the front entrance.

Great drinks and food, super friendly and hospital staff. Bathroom is kinda funky, but oh well. A bit pricey, but the atmosphere was just what we needed.

We went there for a set menu, food was terrible. The appetizer had obviously been sitting out cooking too long and was hard as a rock. The steak was sent back to be cooked more and came out charred and crispy. And served practically raw russet potatoes. Overall a terrible over priced dinner. It’s upsetting because the atmosphere there is awesome, just wish the kitchen was better. They did refund my meal after I spoke with the manager, but the food was so poorly done coming out of the kitchen I probably won’t be back.

Average place. But I suppose for okc it was decent. I would go back. Had the crab cakes which was mushy. But the duck was good.

Seems like a good place for a quiet dinner. I had the curry beef soup and spinach salad. The soup was way too salty and I couldn’t finish it. It was also a little lukewarm when I got it. The spinach salad was fine. Service at the bar was friendly. They had a decent selection of wines by the glass. I had a cab for $ 11 and it was pretty good. I’m giving it 4 stars because it looked like other people were enjoying their food more than I did.

Generous and stupendous steak and salmon. Attentive service. After that, Mantel has lost much charm. Things that should not be served cool: risotto, bisque and bread dipping sauce(straight out of refrigerator). That’s 3 frigid strikes in one meal. Bread was better suited for Balkan refugee camp. 3 oz wine service, fans on so high my hair is blowing across my face. Never agree to be seated at front — too much traffic and waitstaff milling about. I miss old Mantel.

Great evening for the patio. The live entertainment was great, included a great man from across the street at Jjs– did a little sexy song and brought a few more in to see what was going on. I had a Moscow mule, which is my fave drink and so hard to find a good one in the area. The bartender made one to perfection, so I will be back. We did not enjoy any food items, just the atmosphere and the hubs had a glass of wine. The staff was way friendly and helpful and very aware of the drunken ladies being sort of a buzzkill. We will be back to give it another go, perhaps not on a weekend evening. The food menu looked fabulous, but we had already partaken at another establishment, so we just wanted the liquid goods.

I was visiting OKC for work and a few locals recommended Mantels Wine Bar and Bistro, so we decided to try it on our last nite in town. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess who seemed very frazzled and overwhelmed, we asked for a table for 2, she seemed a lil irritated that we did not have a reservation– I let her know that we were from out of town and this restaurant came highly recommended so we wanted to stop in and try it… so she asked if we were okay to wait 15 – 20 mins, which we were fine with. She suggested that there were 2 seats at the bar if we wanted to wait there. We then headed to the bar to order a cocktail and an appetizer– and after getting settled at the bar we decided to stay and dine in that area. We ordered the Fried Calamari(Lightly Spiced Calamari with Fresh Herbs and Zest of Lemon. Served with Red Sauce) to share, I then ordered a cup of the Lobster Bisque(this is one of my favorites and always a must have when available!) For my entrée I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and substituted the chicken for shrimp– this was a great choice!

Unfortunately it’s not as good as it used to be. They had delicious mozzarella /bursts salads but they aren’t on the menu anymore. The service is good but the foodie definitely overpriced.

Came in for an early dinner at 5 pm and restaurant was empty, very nice since I go to pick my own table. I started off with the spinach salad, it was ok. Flavors were good but presentation was pretty basic. Would love to have seen the pears cut lengthwise and boiled. Had the seared salmon and was impressed at the quality in OKC. Very savory and the tomato basil risotto was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I highly recommend the seared salmon. For dessert I had the cheesecake. As a cheesecake lover I’d have to say it was average. The plus side to it is that it’s made in house so thag was refreshing. All in all the main course was excellent and salad and dessert more to be desired, especially for what I spent.

There are so many good steakhouses in Oklahoma City. Skip this one. All of our table’s food was bad. Overcooked duck, burned steaks, wilty salads and old bread. No thanks!

Excellent restaurant for those who are looking for a special hideaway. The atmosphere was cozy. I would recommend this as a perfect date place but its also excellent for an important business meeting locale. Try the smooth Lobster Basque, the famous Lumpia and fun Brie plate as an appetizer. Though you are in OKC and you are thinking steak dont shy away from the awesome fish and ocean specials. Enjoy.

Sub par valentines dinner. I ordered my duck medium rare, came out 100% well done. Tasted like chewy over cooked pork. My husband had the New York strip and it was very grizzley, not impressed at all. First course was two pieces of shrimp… Second was watered down lobster bisque. Not impressed by anything for a $ 230 bill. My mom makes a better cheesecake in her kitchen. Everything just seemed cheap. Would not recommend to anyone if you know what good food is!

Bad crab cakes nothing more than crab salad nearly a crust on the patty. I told the waiter the white sauce under the crab over powered the patty. The mayonnaise he called crème fraîche. Not crème fraîche it was nothing more than mayonnaise. The waiter did not acknowledge I was disappointed in the appetizer. Then the lobster bisque tasted like tomato soup. My wife ordered the New York strip and I ordered the center cut rib eye. It was cooked to order but there was lots of grizzle in in both steaks. Potatoes lumpy and there was way to much butter melted on steak and mashed potatoes. Three asparagus spears two of them had the lower end on and was really tough. Manager was drinking at the bar. This maybe why she didn’t ask how our food was. Over all not recommended. Check was $ 116.00. Atmosphere was fine dining and the waiter knows service.

I had our company dinner there last night. Reservations for 8. I arrived early to ensure there would not be any problems. The staff was excellent and the table was ready for us. There was also a party of 16 there at the same time. I could not have asked for better service from John and Amber! The food was excellent! We had 3 appetizers — the Wellington Trio, Chicken Brochette, and the Brie platter. All were wonderful. The salad is not a traditional iceberg and the house dressing was very good.(I was skeptical of a champagne dressing) The only thing I personally did not care for was the sauce dipping the bread, but others at the table enjoyed it. It seemed like a balsamic vinaigrette gravy. The main courses were also excellent. We had New York Strip, Filet Mignon, Duck breast, The 10 Oz Mantel, and the chicken breast. Everyone loved it. Desserts were amazing.

My husband and I went here for the first time last night for his birthday. Very nice place, excellent food. I will say the food was absolutely incredible!!! Amazing price for the amount of food you get! I ended up getting the 8 oz. filet with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus — my husband got the dinner special which was a 14 oz. center cut of meat, with grilled asparagus and a mash between butternut squash and sweet potato. He absolutely loved it and my filet was to die for. I can’t say that enough. The service was incredible. I worked as a waitress for about 4 years in a high end restaurant — so I know what good service is and our waiter definitely nailed it. My only few complaints — we were the 3rd table in there and we got the worst table possible. I should of said something but didn’t. We got the table that was right next to the kitchen — so we could hear every single word being said by the entire staff including the manager. If they were out of an item, we were the first people to know before the staff. I was facing the kitchen — got to see a bunch of tattoos, a bunch of food being prepared, the awesome collection of pans. What a nice view for the evening! 2nd complaint — it was a friday night at 6 pm. They were out of the lobster bisque which was one of the main reasons my husband wanted to eat here. They said it would be ready in about an 30 minutes — and then that turned into about an hour and a half. He never got to try it unfortunately. 3rd complaint — They were stocking their entire bar at this time. I saw boxes of wine and liquor go by for at least a full hour. This should of been done before dinner. Every time they would walk by — lucky us — we got to hear a whole other conversation going on every 3 minutes. I feel like for such a special occasion and the first time trying out the place — my focus was on so much more other than my husband. Yes we enjoyed the food, but I did not enjoy the atmosphere. Beautiful place — just a little outdated in some areas — just a shame I got to enjoy the evening looking at the kitchen staff and pans and hearing what items were out of stock for the night. I am giving them 3 stars mainly for the lack of full presentation of the atmosphere. Food was definitely 5+ stars.

The food was amazing! I ate here with a group of seven. The service was quick, polite and detailed. The environment is cozy which is good for small groups or a romantic date. I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon, Crab and Spinach Risotto, Broccoli Almandine, Orange Honey Horseradish Glaze. I ate every bite. I wish I had the ability to recreate the Crab and Spinach Risotto at my house, I would eat this all the time. If I lived in the area I could see frequenting this place often.

Mantel wine bar & bistro should be separated. We went two nights in a row. The first night we hung out at the bar with Aron, the bartender, who is a complete doll & a terrific mixologist. Hubby & I had a blast. We had excellent service all night as we were there quite a while. Aron kept us entertained, the drinks flowing & he recommended the cheese platter, Market price, which was simple but delicious. Our bill the first night was $ 100 We made reservations for 9pm corner table the following evening. The following evening we arrived right at 9pm. The place was packed & our table occupied. They explained to us that the people had been there two & a half hours already ordering several courses & was about to be served their entrees. Aron was at the bar & we were to wait at the bar until we could be seated. We waited, waited & waited some more till 10:30pm till our table was finally ready. A full hour & a half when we had a reservation. We were seated at our table, we ordered the crab cakes for our appetizer. When they came they were really dark in color, not burnt, but pan fried in oil that was too hot as the inside was mushy room temp, while the outside was very dark & crispy. A minor error but they tasted ok. I ordered the Cesar salad with anchovy. It was perfect. The greens were fresh, the dressing spot on & the Parma crisps were a very nice touch. I loved it. We ordered the salmon & the bone in filet med. The salmon was completely overcooked & the steak came med well. The carrots & the potatoes that came with the steak were both undercooked. The crab salad that came on top of the salmon was excellent & the mashed potatoes that came with it were tasty, loaded with flavor, but the overcooked salmon sealed it’s doom. We ordered two espressos which were perfect & called it a night. The bill was $ 320. I feel like I’m echoing Ben C’s review. It was just all over the map. I think if I was hanging at the wine bar having drinks & a cheese platter this would be a five star review. However, dining in the bistro, the reservation screw up, the overcooked food, the undercooked food & the 90’s era presentation is not worth the New York City Prices.

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary dinner and everything was delicious. It is Sunday night so the restaurant was only half full. The atmosphere was old school relaxed. We shared a Caesar salad which they split into 2 plates for us. It was delicious. The only think I didn’t care for was the baked Parmesan they used instead of croutons. That didn’t really take away from the dish. The bread was served with a delicious olive oil/balsamic vinegar/pepperocini reduction. We got the special for the night which was a king klop(flaky fish). Never heard of it before, but it was delicious. Served with this amazing seasoned rice and ginger soy broccoli. The pork chop was so juicy and tender. I don’t know how they did it with such a thick cut. We did not have room for dessert, but left completely satisfied!
