I went downtown to take some pictures and stopped at Kolanders Concession at the Truck Garden on Tenth street. I ordered a cowboy cheesesteak on a very quite if warm Sunday afternoon The meat was surprisingly moist and pleasantly beefy if mild in flavor The pallid cheese whiz Sauce did it no favors. The meat was on a good quality white roll but it struggled to stay intact under the juice being given off by the meat. The grilled peppers and onions threaded through the meat gave a subtle seasoning to the sandwich that added good flavor to the small sandwich. At 7 bucks sans sides this offering is no bargain. That said I would place this little sandwich at the top tier of such sandwiches offered in this metropolis. The creativity of the cowboy cheese-steak is well conceived overlooking the cheese whiz. The combination of steak and brisket speaks well of this region with cow-town a scant 3 miles away. The guiltless size gives the weight conscious a reason to indulge in a quick food truck meal. At fair food cost it is an option for a quick if small bite. They are not a regular so you might want to call them to find out where they are.
