This is my first time to the beloved OK staple known as Johnnies(thank you Christmas gift cards haha). Easy enough, walk in, order at the counter. When your food is ready you go grab it and pay. I got the classic Theta cheeseburger because I have a friend who says Johnnies is the best, and onion rings. Fiancé got chicken fried steak with a loaded baked potato. Theta was good, with thick crunchy pickles instead of soggy ones you would find on a typical hamburger. Shredded American, BBQ sauce and mayo finished it off. It wasn’t the best burger I’ve ever eaten but it wasn’t the worst. The patty had a great charcoal flavor, but the cold toppings kind of ruined it and made the overall burger cold. I would’ve liked my cheese melty! And my bun tasted like a plastic bag. Onion rings were bomb. Huge. Hand breaded. Delish. Chicken fried steak was the same, not the best and not the worst. It didn’t look homemade or hand breaded, but just previously frozen. Baked potato was good he said, he liked the addition of onions when you get it loaded. GETPIE. Probably the best part. Next time i would just get pie and onion rings! Huge slices. Chocolate cream as big as your head.

You can taste the difference between and charcoal burger and one slapped on a grill. And I really like that they use the grated American cheese. I was starving and devoured my chili cheese burger. It was good. I couldn’t really taste the chili. They do good to just buy some Wolf canned chili and put that on the burgers. And it also needed onions. Who makes a chili cheese burger and doesn’t think to add some chopped onions? The fries were greasy. And the apple dumpling was barely heated. I would eat here again for sure, but I’d be a little more particular. I didn’t have the onion rings but they looked amazing. And the Ceasar burger looked good. Nice clean place. Service was non-existent. I had one too many apple dumplings – hazard of ordering when I’m super hungry – and I asked them to put it in a box for me. Yeah right.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce is like a taste of Thanksgiving anytime. My absolute favorite thing at Johnnie’s is their onion rings. The portions are large so you shouldn’t leave hungry. My friend got the chef salad and it was huge. She couldn’t finish it. The staff is friendly and it is clean, even the bathrooms. I eat here at least once a month.

Just greasy. Nothing special or flavourful air this place. Have tried it a couple times, opinion hasn’t changed. I do have to say, had a really good chocolate shake.

A very clean enjoyable eatery. Salads are good, burgers can’t be beat, and the chicken fried chicken is out of this world! Ask for the chipotle mayo with it and it’s even better!

We had a hankering for a burger… So we stopped in at this location for a quick bite! Besides the fact that this Johnnies looks like any other… It was very clean and the noise level was not to bad for the time a day we went.(Thursday after noon around 1:30ish). The guy who took our order looked and sounded like he would rather be doing something greater than taking our order. However when all was said and done our order was correct. I do have one complaint about Johnnies… I wonder what it will take to keep my burger a little hotter, because of all the cold cheese they put on the burger. Which I do like the cold cheese but not the fact that it makes my burger cold… Faster.

Good burger, but small. Went there once and enjoyed a light dinner. Tried to go a second time, for take out, and was ignored by the girl texting. Another employee saw and didn’t say anything. I went across the street to Five Guys and had a good burger with excellent service. I will not be back to johnnies

Johnnie’s is one of those places that everyone in OKC misses when they move away. When we lived in Tennessee, I always dreamed about their onion rings, and I have seen Chef Rick Bayless post about dining there with his family when he is in town. It has evolved since I started eating there with my family years ago– the menu that used to just be the same hamburgers with different sauces and trimmings now has salads, sandwiches, and more to choose from. I’m a big fan of their turkey cranberry sandwich with homemade fries, I usually split this and a salad with my mom when we pick up takeout. I’ve also been known to order a kid’s meal on the go: The drive-thru allows you to get a small size of their chicken strips, fries or onion rings, and a drink or a shake for about the same as what you would pay at the golden arches for something much less delicious. Added bonus? You get a tiny bag of Teddy Grahams which I always forget how awesome they are. Even with a shake, the portion is so perfect you don’t feel guilty. I’m not a beefeater, but my husband loves bacon cheeseburgers more than most things in this world and this is one of his favorite places to get one. Add their perfectly soft, not too salty fries and he is in love. That order doesn’t have the less guilty feel of the aforementioned kid’s meal, but it is so good you conveniently forget about your calorie count that day. Overall, Johnnie’s is a great place that OKC is lucky to have. You can pick up, drive through, or meet a crowd here and they will always take good care of you– whether or not you’re Rick Bayless!

I used to love Johnnie’s in the 90’s. But two recent trips have convinced me they don’t seem to care about quality any more. Just had a #19(Bacon cheeseburger) with onion rings; overall not bad but the burger was dry and obviously not made to order. The bacon was cooked nicely but cold. Onion rings were nice and hot. I used to be a rabid fan but their consistency has gone downhill and they need to quit taking shortcuts to win me back. I’m sticking to Little Mike’s across the street — too bad they were closed today.

Overrated, small, unimpressive burgers. The fries are pretty dry and disappointing(not to mention expensive, much like everything else on the menu), and the onion rings are by far the worst onion rings that I have had the displeasure of eating. Ever. Johnnie’s(all locations) thinks more highly of itself than it should. Roughly $ 5.00 for a burger that looks and tastes like it should be no more than $ 2.00. I could say more but it seems unnecessary. It’s not an awful burger, but I question the taste buds of anyone who considers this place to have the best burgers.

Been here twice. Had a burger once & chili once. Burger was pretty good. I’ve had better. Chili was an all meat chili… don’t eat it by itself. :-/had fries with mine, but the fries were overdone. Shame cuz they were my favorite kind.

Best burgers around. A little pricey compared to other options for feeding our family of 5 and we’d visit more often if that weren’t the case, but we stil go fairly regularly because I crave the Theta Burger! The onion rings are great too.

These are great hamburgers. I love chili burgers and Jonnie’s makes a great chili burger. The chili is put on havey and the cheese is real. Not all locations are the same. This location is the corporate offices for this chain. If don’t like the burgers here don’t go to the other locations. Jonnie’s also has hotdogs and some nice currly fries.
