Best. Pasta. Ever. Are you looking for an amazing traditional dinner? Look no further. Flip’s is a central oklahoma staple for a dinner, happy hour, or lunch. You can bring the family or dine in for a romantic date night. The customer service is aways on point. With an ever changing wine selection, you can try something new every time you dine. Their pasta isn’t house made, but you cannot find better in the city. Bottom line: dine at Flip’s. You will not be dissapointed.

Flip’s is a landmark for so many people in OKC. My fiancé’s family has been coming here for 30 years. I discovered Flips a few years ago and I mostly went for happy hour. Now I’m a huge fan of their food more than anything else! We usually start with the Flip’s Italian Nachos. These can be a bit dry, so I recommend getting a meat added. They are piled high, plan to share! I’m also a fan of their Fruit & Cheese plate, shocker! #cheeselover I really like that they offer the European Country Style Dinners, too. It’s a 3 course meal where you can choose the pasta and sauce, along with a soup and salad. Their portions aren’t small so I like that I can always plan for leftovers! I think the only dessert I’ve ever had here was the Tiramisu because why would anyone want anything else?

What a disappointment! We have eaten here 3 times and the last time will be just that… my last! Obviously, the food is good on occasion, or else we would have not made 3 trips. When I went in for lunch the other day, I ordered the Italian nachos for my lunch entrée as did my friend. When they came out the cheese was burnt, and it was horrible! I explained to the waitstaff, and he took it back to the kitchen, only to bring out another plate with moderate improvement. After all of that, we never even received an offer to make an adjustment to our ticket for the trouble and terrible experience. The Italian nachos used to be amazing, and I am extremely disappointed!

I’ve been here a few times and have only had great experiences. However I did that to star when I went on my most recent visit, my food was a little overwhelming. Every time I come here I absolutely love the ambience of a small little Italian restaurant. They have a great little bar in the corner with a nice wine selection. I’ve had the pizza as well as a few pastas, and I’ve never been disappointed. Their staff is always friendly and I feel like we always get a table fairly quickly, without the place feeling deserted. My most recent visit, I ended up ordering a garlic Salmon special with the side being almost like mashed potatoes. The salmon was cooked really well and the portions were great, but the garlic was so overwhelming I could barely eat half of it. It might’ve been a pair with the potatoes too, because they were super rich as well. But if it was toned down a little bit it would be absolutely delicious. The other two girls that I was with ordered the same thing and they were very happy with it, so I always take that into consideration. Overall, this place is such a great little Italian restaurant that I would definitely recommend anybody interested in trying it!

Food: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Cleanliness: 5⁄5 Décor & Style: 3⁄5 I love that they are one of the few places in OKC that stay open late on weekdays(11AM-2AM everyday!) My favorite is the lasagna. Portions are huge here so make sure to split plates or be ready for a doggy bag. HUGE selection of craft beer. Style and décor is a little old, not very modern, and slightly cramped depending on where you’re seated. Overall great place and will be back plenty of times.

She had a huge Italian craving, and this was the only place that was open at the time… Figured why not? My salad was great. Nuts, fruit, spinach, and honey mustard… Can’t go wrong. She had the eggplant parm, and hated it. I don’t blame her. I tried it, and the eggplant was under-cooked, and the pasta was flavorless. The Good 1) OMEGA3ANTIOXIDANTPOWERSALAD — Ordered this. It was actually awesome. Totally not Italian, but still awesome 2) The waiter did a good job. Took care of us, and was on his game The Bad 1) EGGPLANTPARMESAN — Wow. Where to start. The eggplant was under-cooked. She couldn’t finish it. The pasta was odd… It was literally flavorless, which makes me wonder if they forgot to put salt in the water? I dunno, but she was upset because she didn’t think she got her craving satisfied. 2) The manager — She was putting menus out for the dinner rush. She was literally tossing the menus on to the tables… It made a ton of noise. I would totally ignore it, but it went on the entire meal… Like seriously? Setting them down takes 0% more effort. The waiter even apologized when he saw how loud she was being. Doubtful we would go back. Just a cruddy experience.

Bartender is a the most unfriendly guy you will ever meet in your life! Don’t go if you just want to have a nice dinner and a drink. This is the most disappointing experience that I have ever had in OKC. Eat in dinning sea only!

I was really really surprised how poor my experience was this weekend at flips. I thought the place was supposed to be top dog status in OKC. Guess it’s gone downhill competing with all the classen curve and other amazing businesses opening up all over. They need to step up their game if they want to stick around. Service was meh… Food was meh as well. Ordered the chicken parm. And what I got was a chicken patty covered in cheese with maybe two tablespoons of marinara. And dried up noodles. Looked like the dish had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while… I know flips has been around for a while. That’s why I surprised about my experience. Not sure if I want to give the place another try there are so many other options out there to choose from for Italian. Like zios, Olive Garden or stouffers frozen dinners even

Huge fan huge fan! I’ve driven by Flips more than 1000 times and never been in. Finally stepped foot into this classic Italian restaurant on a rainy Thursday night. Came here to meet friends for wine and dine. We were easily sold. It’s just one of those cozy, easy, wear whatever you want, come for any reason kind of place. Happy hour, Sunday brunch, first date whatever. I now plan on frequenting Flips much more. Flips just has the atmosphere that instantly puts you in a good mood. It sets the tone for good conversation and leads to a great experience. We had friendly service, got a great wine and food was delicious. Loved the antipasta platter and the Italian nachos are an absolute must. Get with sausage and dunk in marinara. Flips, we will meet again soon.

We used to love this place but haven’t been is several years so we were excited to go back. The atmosphere was still the same, which was good but the food was not the same quality it was. The food was ok but when you are used to getting really good food, ok doesn’t do it for me. Still a fun place to hang out late and get some good food, just not great anymore.

I have always enjoyed the atmosphere at Flip’s and most often the food is fine too. I think they suffer a bit from trying to offer too many dishes but what they get right they do well. Italian nachos, grill cheese, and are pretty much always above par. I like this place more now that oil is cheap because it has lightened the crowd of 20 somethings that«want to fit in.» If I had to recommend one restaurant to someone in OKC this likely wouldn’t be the place but if someone wants to go, I’ll likely not dissuade them either. It’s Flip’s, we live in OKC, we get it, and we love the place. Simple as that. I will applaud the patio, bar staff, and overall ambiance of the joint. And, I’m sure to return. Ciao!

DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEANDMONEY, This is the worst«Italian» food you will ever have. I travel often, eat out most of the time, this is the worst ever. The Frutti De– Mare was tasteless. No spice, no sauce, just cook and server in water. You can Google it ad find great recopies, or at least get an idea how it should look like, and try to add clams, not so much cheap fish. The Calamari appetizer seems to be cheap cheap stuff, I would not be surprised if it was purchased in bulk from some local place. We exchange dishes within the group, everything tasted the same — tasteless. the service was good, and that was about it. Drive down the street to the wine bar, pay a little more and enjoy your dinner, or hop over the mall on the other side and get a good Pizza at upper crust,

Last night was my first time eating at Flips. I had actually heard a few good reviews from friends, and even from my partner who attended this dinner with me who has lived in OKC all his life. After this experience, my partner was embarrassed that he recommended this restaurant to me. The hostess was nice and seated us right away, and the atmosphere was cozy. My partner ordered the seafood pasta(Frutti de Mare) and I ordered a simple Chicken Parmesan. On the menu it says that these entrées are served as three course meals with soup and garden salad. Upon ordering, my partner and I both asked to sub the garden salad for a caesar and the waitress said sure(we just assumed we’d get a surcharge for the substitution.) The salad was good and served promptly. But after our salad we were given our entrées, so we politely asked the server who brought us our food(wasn’t our waitress) where our soup was that was supposed to come with the meal. No big deal, people forget, it wasn’t a problem. She went to tell our waitress, and when our waitress came with the soup, she shoved a metal bowl(like you would find in the kitchen) on our table, with one empty bowl(for two of us?), and walked away. I was completely offended. It turns out that when you substitute the house salad for a caesar, you no longer get the soup, but this was only explained to us after the soup was shoved on our table and we had to call our waitress over again to ask what was going on. Both the waitress’s attitude and the presentation of the soup were unacceptable. The entrées were disappointing. Although the chicken on my Chicken Parmesan was good, the linguini served under it was dry and hard. My partner’s Frutti de Mare was terrible– the seafood in it was adequate, but the«sauce» was like water. It was like eating seafood on a bed of plain noodles. We don’t plan on eating here again. I hope that management can train waitstaff to be more communicative with customers, especially when a substitution changes the meal. A simple explanation when the meal was ordered could have prevented the whole ordeal.

Flips is a casual, cozy, can get loud but not always kind of place. I like the feel of a «neighborhood» place. Flips has that. The bar has a nice selection of beer and wine. The barkeeps know their stuff! There is a nice variety of dishes/apps to choose from. The calamari is always good. The salads are too. I like to dress my own and while the standard is to have it tossed for you, «on the side» is an option. I like how they serve you your soup individually at the table. Nice touch! The pasta works as do the meatballs. I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is always attentive and very nice. You can usually count on Flips!

I have been to Flip’s several times. Depending on what you order, the food is good to adequate. Their Italian Nachos are delicious. The antipasto plate is varied and good. They have a fantastic patio for enjoying with your friends. All of that being said, I could only give them two stars due to the horrible service our group received at my last visit. The service has always been slow. The last time, the waitress wouldn’t acknowledge our table, didn’t serve us all three courses that were supposed to come with our orders. She spilled water on us, and then just threw a folded tablecloth on the table and didn’t actually spread it over the table. I understand everyone has a bad night. However; when the manager came by the table after flagging her down to refill our waters, she admitted to being the manager when we asked then she ran off. I noticed that a dozen of their reviews have been deemed«not recommended», and this one will probably be as well. I just wanted to give an honest assessment. Bottom line– Adequate Italian, Bad Service
