$ 25 for 2 burgers, onion rings and medium drinks. Burgers were mediocre, onion rings were ok and the Dr Pepper was watered down. Won’t go back again. HORRIBLE value for the way overcharged price.

Prices are way too high for the amount of food you get. $ 14 for a combo with a burger not much better than a McDonald’s burger.

I’m gonna start off by saying I’m NOT a cheap eater! I have been in the business for years and years and usually I’m more than willing to pay a higher price first food. However, this place is something else! $ 14 for a combo that includes a small burger! Taste is alright but the price will leave a bitter taste in your mouth! I love the idea of this place and would definitely return if the price was around $ 10.

Food is good but the price keeps me from being a regular. You get very small meals(and that would be OK if the price was lower).

I’ve driven past this place 100’s of times! Today I stopped! I had the Mediterranean Turkey burger. It was fresh and pretty dog on huge! But, a little too dry for my taste. I know turkey burgers aren’t easy to do right. I like that everything is cooked fresh to order and you get a nice size burger. They are pricey and maybe for a regular burger it works. Give them a try! Just order a regular burger!

While traveling for business I passed this local establishment near my hotel and decided to give it a shoot for lunch. I enjoy great grilled or charcoal burgers when they are made right. I ordered the Cowboy Burger with the Suzy Q fries. I also ordered one of the mushroom swiss burgers as well. The prices are extremely high for a burger dive. The cowboy burger is a double patty burger with classic hickory bbq sauce. The burger was cooked very inconsistent. The two patties did not even match temperatures. The two patties had 4 different meat temperatures throughout them from well done, med well, med, and med rare. I have never seen a burger with such inconsistent cooking throughout. The patty was a little dry and salty. The mushroom and swiss burger was cooked better it was a mix of well done and medium well. It was juicer for sure than the cowboy burger and could taste the mushroom well. It was a better burger and pulled the score up from a one star up to a two star. The fries were average spiral fries with a season all style seasoning on them. The large is a good qty of fries for the meal. Looking at this location it would appear on the outside to be a well established community burger joint. You go into the order with expectations of a properly cooked burger with that light charcoal grilled flavor. The end result for me today was a little less than I had hoped for. Still an ok visit and average burger experience. I would not try them again in the future myself but they may just be having a bad day.

This place should get a 4 star but the fact that it’s the best burger in town from a drive-through window earns an easy 5 stars. Prices are high considering the only option is takeaway. But it’s always been the utmost quality and speed of service considering it’s all made to order. I suppose if you want to complain about the price there’s whataburger nearby for a discount or you can take away from johnnies on Britton for the same price. Johnnies might edge out on taste but we’re talking about a different zip code.

My dad used to come here when he was in high school and so he brought me here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. I love the mod look of this place. It still has the original building and awnings. I have been told this place was comparable to Johnnies Charcoal Burgers which I love. Now, this place is on the pricey side but what do you expect when beef is upwards of $ 6-$ 10 per lbs! This places uses REAL beef, not fake mystery meat like McDonalds or Burger King. We pull up to order and we were the only ones in line. We didn’t have to wait long at all for the food. I ordered the Theta with cheese just the burger $ 5.95. Yes pricy but damn well worth it. My dad got the theta with cheese combo with fries and a drink $ 10.95. Both burgers were HOT! Fresh right off the grill and the curly fries were to die for delicious! Doesn’t even compare to Johnnies fries. The beef was a nice, thick patty with lots of cheese and theta sauce and pickles. Yummy! It wasn’t a huge burger but enough to savor and fill you up but not over stuff you. The fries were a good sized portion that two people can split them. All in all this place could rival Johnnies if they could afford to lower their prices a little bit. For two burgers, fries, and a coke the total was $ 18.34. I enjoyed it, especially reliving it with my dad. I will definitely go back.

The prices are ridiculous for average fries and dry burgers. You don’t know what you are getting into until you pull up and then there’s no way to back out! For the prices, its just not worth it. There is nothing special about it.

I was craving a delicious burger… quick. This was not the best place for that. I was the only car in the drive-thru, however my order of a cheeseburger and onion rings took almost 10 minutes. I wasn’t actually in a hurry, so the wait didn’t really bother me… especially considering they were probably making my food fresh. Nonetheless, I was really bothered by how expensive a burger and onion rings cost! I really should have checked the Unilocal reviews before trying… completely overpriced for the quality and size of burger. Also, since this place is apparently known for their onion rings you would think they would have ranch for dipping sauce,(or is ranch not a common dipping sauce for onion rings here… idk) instead I received a package of Hidden Valley Ranch… yuck… I’m picky about my ranch. The burger and onion rings were alright, but nothing to call home about. and really the cost for quality was not justified.

Holy bejesus… this place is expensive. 13.31 for a combo meal from a fast food joint? Since this is a drive thru… backing out after you see the prices is not really an option(10.99 or 11.99 for most combo meals). You are trapped between the people behind you and people paying/receiving the order. There was one car ahead of me and I was probably waiting 3 – 4 minutes before I got to the counter. That would have been quite annoying to wait and not have an order placed. They have raspberry tea, sweet tea and lemonade on their menu… none of which they had on a Thursday at 1pm. I had asked for cherry coke 1st until I saw the other options listed above. They only had unsweetened tea, so I went to cherry coke. Lo and behold, I got charged $ 0.29 more for the cherry in the coke? No I didn’t get an actual cherry either. The burger did have crispy bacon which was a treat. Overall I was expecting more for the cost. Nickel and dimeing your customers may work temporarily, but not sure how well it will sustain in the long run. You should be more accommodating when you are out of multiple menu items.

This is my first time in OKC and I drove by this place thinking it’ll be a good lunch stop for tomorrow. Nope! Unless I’m going to an upscale/gourmet hamburger restaurant, I’m not paying these prices at a drive-through burger stand. By the way, Whataburger is within a mile or so of this place.

The burgers are good. The onion rings are good. The fries are good. The service is good. The price is NOT! 4 combo meals should not cost $ 53.00 at ANY burger joint. Id recommend it but you better expect to pay around 12 – 14 dollars a person, which seems really high to me.

We still love them! They cooked our food perfectly on our last visit and they were so nice. The only problem is that their veggie patties are made with soy and my daughter is allergic to both dairy and soy and she has also switched to vegan. I hope that they find a black bean patty with no soy or can offer a substitute on our next visit so that my daughter can continue to eat their food. It’s wonderful!

I’ve driven past this place a million times but have never eaten here. Since I’m a burger junkie, I thought I should give it a shot even though I hate eating in my car. I found the burgers to have a good charcoal flavor, but the hickory sauce is not my flavor. I ordered a burger that I thought would have all the condiments, but mine came with pickles only. I would rate the burger so-so. Now the onion rings are a different story — crunchy, well battered, hot… I liked them except eating them in the car. I would have taken advantage of their outdoor tables but it was just too windy. The lunch was OK, but there are burgers I like much better.

This place is not bad. They’ve been around forever, so there is a ton of hype. That said, they make a good burger. Nothing to write home about, but if I’m in the area, I usually stop by. The good 1) A decent burger 2) Great onion rings The bad: 1) The drive through can be kind of slow. Give it a try, although nothing to write home about.

I ordered an onion burger, which would seem to be a simple request given that they’re one of the staples of an Oklahoma diet, however it took three repetitions to the speaker for the person on the other end to understand that I wanted a burger… with onions… and mustard… and nothing else. It might not have been so frustrating if the person taking my order hadn’t clearly been upset about something else and quite short with me. Sadly the burger didn’t make up for the poor ordering experience, nor did the fries. The burger tasted prefabricated, and as fast as they got it out to me the onions barely had time to brown and were mostly raw. The fries were unmemorable. Maybe I hit them on a very off day, but I don’t think a return visit will be in my future.

I’ve been going to OKC on business for the past year and end up staying at a hotel down the road from this place. Whenever I drive by, the drive thru always has a line. I finally decided to see what the fuss was about and paid a visit. Yes, it’s pricey. At $ 8-$ 13, it’s what I pay for a meal at a sit-down place. But, I won’t come away with my taste buds satisfied like I do at Charcoal Oven at most sit-down places. Normally, I like my burgers smothered in condiments — mayo, mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce, etc. Charcoal Oven burgers do not need anything. They are that good. At 1⁄3 lb, the basic burger is fairly big. Since they are cooked over an open flame, they have that char flavor. Hickory sauce adds a little tang. I love their onion rings. Most places give you 3 ounces. At Charcoal Oven, you get a separate bag. I believe they bread their own, too. I find the onion rings very flavorful and divine.
