Absolutely my favorite bar/venue in OKC. Whatever changes they made when they reopened were definitely for the better. I love the events they host here; they do karaōke every Thursday night. As a huge karaōke fan, I tried it out, because there are other bars in OKC that do karaōke, but it’s not a very enjoyable experience. The experience doing karaōke here was by far the best in OKC — it’s fun to get up on an actual stage and sing, and everyone is totally supportive and friendly. The shows that I’ve seen here(Tallows, Husbands, a few others I can’t think of right now) have been great — it gets a little crowded in the space around the stage but that’s half the fun. I also definitely recommend checking out the monthly(?) dance party they have here — you will sweat like CRAZY but you’ll have a crazy good time and run into crazy cool people. Also, during the playoffs, they hosted Thunder watch parties with free hotdogs and $ 2 Coors, which was such a fun thing to attend — and a pretty unique take. I love that they are supportive of the community they inhabit, and not in a way that just pays lip service — they really get involved and I like that. The service here, I couldn’t speak more highly of. Perhaps it’s just because I visit here far and away more than any other bar in the metro, but the bartenders are all friendly, and even when it’s incredibly busy you don’t stand there waiting forever for them to pay attention. I’ve been to other bars where it’ll be dead, and I’ll be there trying to get their attention, and they’ll just straight up ignore me and/or act annoyed when they do have to get my drink order. I never get that here; they’re always all in such positive moods and never seem put out. That’s how you get regulars; by being the best. I can’t say much on prices of drinks, because I think they’re reasonable enough, but I don’t drink much so I don’t ever get out of there feeling like I’ve been ripped off. I would recommend this to ANYONE who hasn’t been, and if you’re into karaōke like me, come by on Thursday nights and get your sing on!

I gave this place another shot after a few friends told me they had closed and changes had been made since my last visit. I’m glad to say that those changes were all good ones. They still have 3 or 4 bars, the décor is still keep up the Speakeasy/Prohibition feeling. The atmosphere is great. It’s also a lot less smokey than it used to be which was refreshing.(I still hope that OKC/Oklahoma will have a public smoking ban one day…) Upstairs, we enjoyed playing games like pool and shuffleboard. Overall, it was a great visit and glad that I have it another shot.

I went to this bar… after reading the review on Unilocal, yesterday(a Tuesday), and they are playing trivia! What really upset me immediately when we walk in the host is making racial jokes… and not the funny off color jokes, the offensive jokes. It is 2016, with race being such a hot button for discussion… why are you making offensive jokes… at one point the host had to shut someone down in the audience before it got too out of hand, «there is a lot we can say about race but we wont get into that!» like wtf??? Never again!

This is actually a fun nice little bar. However I will not be returning. One person that works there behaved attriciously. Just asking a simple question caused this bouncer to get into my face and two other girls faces that were simply waiting in line. He then proceded to ask us to stand in the street because no one was allowed to stand on the wood walkway or stairs in front of the entrance… This bouncer was on a power trip and treated me and the other half dozen people waiting outside like animals. We are human beings and to be treated with so much disrespect for absolutely no reason is appalling. I wish this had not have happened because I did enjoy the atmosphere of this bar, but out of principle I will not be returning.

This is a great place to play trivia on Tuesdays and has a lot of open space for other nights. I’m not crazy about the food service that they changed to because the selection is so limited. I also really wish that they would change their name. There’s nothing about this place that is speakeasy-esque, so the name is very misleading. It’s not secretive, small, hidden, hushed or charming.

Good environment. There is definitely more than enough sitting room and the place has a charm to it. Overall I recommend it. However, if you’re trying to have a couple drinks and want some bar food I wouldn’t count on the food part. Last couple times I went the kitchen was closed. The kitchen hours are very random and inconsistent.

The Speakeasy is really great for what it is: a big bar with lots of seating areas that doesn’t pretend to be overly fancy. They bartenders are quick and friendly and Speakeasy has a good beer selection. Speakeasy almost feels like an Austin, Rainey Street kind of place since it’s an oversized house with a patio, porch, and food truck. PROS: Lots of space. They had Horse Thief with no cover! Owner/operators were working their butts off all night. CONS: 500 college kids on the weekends; plan accordingly. Bouncers don’t seem to support ride sharing services like Über and Lyft.

Great place to party! I’ve never had the food, but for late night it’s a blast! There are rooms you can dance, rooms you can smoke, or rooms you can chill and hear your friends talk without smoke. During nice weather the double level patio is fantastic. My friends and I go here often.

Great weekday bar! It can get really packed on the weekends but during the week it’s great. Different things going on like trivia nights, stand up, etc. The food is exceptionally good, and reasonably priced. Good beer selection as well. The benefit of speakeasy is its size, different rooms make for different vibes. Also a really big outdoor patio for nights that it’s nice enough to be outside. Great place to sit and actually have conversations with the people you’re with!

Hidden drinkers gem! Love how they keep a portion separate for smokers so us non-smokers hair still smell clean after a night out. Two story is fun with the mini shuffle board and double decker patio. Great spot for pregame before Energy Soccer games! Weekends bring in some fun bands and you’re guaranteed to see some party bus groups make a stop at this neighborhood bar.

I’m a fan. Speakeasy is a great place to pregame or a weekend destination. It’s in a great location to meet up with people right in the center of OKC, it’s a central place to meet up with friends from the north side to downtown! This is my favorite location for TLO Trivia Night. Something about the speakeasy makes it a great place for vulgar language(a no-no in other TLO trivia locations with kids) and a great selection of drinks! You can get a great beer or mixed drink and it’s fairly priced! And if you get hungry, we’ll just head over to the Franks Wurst counter! From the brats to fries, you can’t go wrong here. They also have a lot of live music, some that I know and enjoy to listen to and others that just provide a nice soundtrack to my night. I liked the shuffle board up stairs and the booths make for a great conversation space if you have a small group. The fact that it’s an old house makes for a creepy/cool environment. My favorite place though is the patio. Fresh air and prime cat watching real estate! You can smoke out there, but also sit up wind of the smokers and be comfortable! It’s great for a big group to just pull up as many chairs as you need. One of my favorite spots in OKC, give it a try and you won’t be disappointed!

I walked into a pretty dead bar on a Friday night. The place was ridiculously cool despite the lack of patrons. The bartenders were great to chat with. The food was great(get curry ketchup on your brat). Beyond delicious! I thought the prices were a tad high because its all al la carte, but the food is high quality. Lots of high quality liquor on the shelf so, for the drinkers, you’ll be happy with their selection. Nutshell: very low key, super friendly staff, and savory food for a decent price.

Speakeasy has some pretty good offerings for the area! It’s more comfortable than the Drunken Fry if you’re not a smoker. The facility is amazing! So many rooms and you truly feel like you’re in a vintage house. They also have a nice beer selection and their Tuesday night TLO trivia is so much fun! They often have great local bands play as well. If you’ve never been, you must give it a try!

I have mixed feelings about this place. First, the place has a pretty good beer selection. Not amazing, but they have a couple interesting ones. And last summer during the World Cup I really enjoyed their watch parties and appreciated their support of the new USL Pro soccer team, the OKC Energy. I also like that they have smoking and non smoking rooms – something for everyone. But the size of the place(it’s huge) can sometimes be a detriment because it’s hard to fill up and can be a bit low energy even on Friday nights. A really bad policy they have is their $ 10 limit on credit cards, which I was not informed of until I tried to tab out at 1 am. I understand they have to pay the credit card companies and it hurts their profits to do low dollar amounts, but for a big bar like this you’d think they could cover it(or at least eat it to not inconvenience their customers.) The $ 10 limit might be fine if you plan to spend some time and buy a few drinks there, but if you only want one drink or are doing a Classen crawl(which this place likes to advertise on social media) and only get one drink at each bar, then you’re screwed. So last night I bought a $ 10 beer. It really makes me not want to go back, despite the good experiences I’ve had in the past. There’s plenty of other bars in the area that won’t rob me.

The place is truly a site to see in okc. Hidden within the barmuda triangle, it’s a popular attraction for bar hoppers. Live music and several rooms with plenty servers that are attentive and speedy. It isn’t always totally populated but if you stay longer than 5 minutes you’ll realize it’s amazing charm. Bunch a yuppies tho.

51st Street Speakeasy puts John’s Big Deck in Kansas City, MO to shame. We met some friends here around 10PM after a day of Caffeine Crawling(6 coffee shops in one day, yee-haw!) We had a great time working off the caffeine by playing foos-ball for hours. Everyone in the bar seemed respectful and nice. 51st Street Speakeasy is a HUGE place. There’s plenty of space to roam, plenty of patios to lounge, and plenty of bartenders to make you a drink. Loved the size and atmosphere of this place!

I love coming here for trivia on Tuesday nights. The room is small so if you want a table, you have to get here about two hours before trivia starts at 8pm. Not kidding. Lots of people end up having to stand around and sometimes patio furniture have to be brought in… if there is still space available. I’d say drink prices are comparable to other bars. You can start a tab but they don’t keep your credit card which I really like. They have a decent food menu if you need something to munch on. IDs are checked at the door, no exception. Speakeasy is not the best place to watch sports games because they don’t have that many TVs and people are always blocking the few that are there.

Oh, Speakeasy, how I love you, even if the majority of the building permits smoking and you can get so noisy. Tasty alcoholic beverages and tasty loaded cheese fries(minus the bacon, natch) always bring me back! My first impression of Speakeasy was so-so, because the bartender sniped at me when i asked what was on tap. «It’s right behind me!» He had said with a roll of his eyes. Sure, it was right behind him, but not everyone has perfect vision that can read the tiny beer names from 10 feet away as I was quick to point out. Surely a more appropriate response would’ve been to direct me to a beer list??? They do have quite the selection, so some assistance in navigating would have been nice. Fortunately, later experiences made up for the initially off-putting bartender. The Lost Ogle hosts trivia every Tuesday night, which is always a blast. The food is pretty decent for bar food — can be hit or miss sometimes, but typically very good. I’ve caught a few live shows here as well. I’ve heard there’s bingo and burlesque on other nights, so there is always something to do when you’re hanging out at the Speakeasy. It can get very loud in here, so it’s not a place I would hang out at for an extended amount of time(unless I’m there for trivia!). But if you have time for a drink or two, or maybe try out trivia on a Tuesday night, be sure to stop by!

This place looks like a house on the outside, but the inside looks like a regular ol’ bar. Tuesday trivia night is a laugh riot, but prepare to commit 2 – 2.5 hours of your time. I’m not very good at playing the game, but when you get a good group together, it’s a load of fun! Arrive early(half our or so before game time) to secure a table. You can park in the back of the building. Just follow the Forward Foods sign! If you’re coming late at night Don’t quote me, but I believe there is a parking lot across the street from the bar that you can park in with no problems. Food wise– I’ve visited the speakeasy a couple times and they always manage to run out of the food things I want to order. Grrr. Thumbs up for Great Divide beer! Loaded nacho/fries are pretty tasty. The burger is your average burger. Service is pretty spot on. Constantly clearing empty things off the table!

The building is rather inconspicuous, I think! It looked like a home at a glance but facing the street there is a door with«Speakeasy» bannered across it so it isn’t impossible to recognize. Most of the parking is around the back where an entrance is as well, but there is also an empty lot across from it that a few people parked in when the back got too crowded. Anywaaay, When we got there it wasn’t busy at all and there were plenty of tables to choose from. Since it wasn’t quite yet the busy night-shift there was one bartender that I think was serving both sides of the bar, because he kept walking back and forth. Poor guy. I am very pleased that they carry Angry Orchard because that cider is the bomb. They also have a large selection of beer, a lot of it local and such. As for food I ordered the fish and chips(catfish in this case) but they didn’t have any catfish. Siiiigh. So I opted for the chicken strips instead. They were alright, nothing exceptional but good for the price. We also got the chips and queso with salsa appetizer and it is not something I’d recommend. The queso was Velvetta, I think and the salsa was… confusing. None of us hated it, but it wasn’t great either. It had a weird mushy texture and very little flavor but something about it made us eat it all. I don’t understand our motivation, and it frightens me. Then later, I ordered a calamari to split with a friend and they were out of that, too. SIIIIGH. Instead, we got the loaded fries. Another thing I wouldn’t really recommend. The fries there are good, no doubt, and the bacon is good as well. I wasn’t a fan of the large jalapeño and tomato pieces in it. That was weird. Service there seemed a little haphazard. I couldn’t tell who was a worker and who just liked to steal glasses and plates, haha. But it also gave a laid back feel which I can get behind. You order at the bar for drinks and food and someone will bring the food to you. Someone. It’s a surprise every time. They were all friendly, though. We were there for trivia with The Lost Ogle. Those dudes are pretty cool. One of them got a wee bit tipsy because people kept buying them shots, hah! It was really fun and entertaining though, and quite enjoyable. They were definitely heckling us, which I found amusing. Trivia night is worth a check-out. Overall: Food is meh, but it’s a bar so whatever right? Go there to drink and hang out and trivia. P. S. The music is super random and loud. Quality of music? Not bad. But I do hate having to strain my voice to talk.
