Parents of special needs children be warned! This is not a review of the dance classes but of their owner and policies, which are at minimum hurtful and potentially even illegal. My son attended a trial run of their«preschool» which we both really loved and were looking forward to enrolling in. I informed the owner via email that my son has epilepsy and, in a very rare and unpredictable circumstance, MAY need the teacher to administer diastat(a life saving medication) should a seizure continue for more than 5 minutes. I assured her this had never happened before but because there was always the risk, my child does not go anywhere without this medication. She let me know that they did not have to accommodate his special need because, despite advertising as a preschool program, they are actually not a licensed preschool, but more of an «enrichment program». Oh. Ok? So she would rather discriminate a 4 year old and deny him an educational and enrichment opportunity than maybe get to be a hero and administer a simple life saving medication. Impressive character. It was beyond sad and heartbreaking to have to tell my child that he didn’t get to participate. As if it doesn’t suck enough to have epilepsy. Now he’s being discriminated against. Incidentally, my son did NOT have any seizures, much less one over 5 minutes, during that time. Not that that’s the point. I certainly hope nobody at her school ever needs CPR or an epi-pen. Which I never got a clear answer on if their policy allows.

My daughter had danced here for almost 8 years and is still dancing. The instructors are well trained and knowledgable and the staff is helpful. The company has a yearly recital that showcases their growth.

My daughter has grown up at NDA been dancing P for 9 yrs & has been on their competitive dance team for 7 yrs she absolutely loves it. The studio is beautiful it’s very clean, safe, & family environment. Teachers are great they love their students and the students are inspired by them. We are at the studio so much it’s my daughters second home. The staff is great alway so kind & helpful. Everyone at NDA is like family to us & we love that. I have & would trust Neisha and any of her staff members with my children & I know they will take great care of them. I would recommend NDA to anyone no other studio can even compare to NDA in the area. Can’t wait until my son is old enough & get him in some hip hop classes NDA has the best hip hop teacher I know!!!

My 2 year old loves to go to dance class. Her teacher Miss Stephanie is so sweet and patient. My daughter has the energy of several children and she makes it a lovely experience. There are about 8 little girls in class and a couple boys that show up from time to time. The place is clean and friendly and sells all kinds of dance items for kids of all ages. It is a bit on the pricey side I must admit and the recital seemed extremely expensive for the costume. $ 144 for a dance outfit that she will grow out of in 3 months does not seem right. Overall the classes are nice and one day we may sign up for piano. The do music as well.

It is a shame to see the negative reviews here on Unilocal — a source I normally trust for recommending me to new places. This is the third review I’m placing here in support of what I consider the best dance studio in the South Bay — BYFAR! The ballet program here is unparalleled in Chula Vista! Nowhere can your children receive this type of training and the abundant opportunities. Both of my children have been dancing here since 2007 and we have loved every moment!

My daughter has been attending Ms. Stephanie’s class… first Creative Dance and now Pre-Primary since she was 2 years-old; she’s now 4 years-old. She absolutely loves it! Ms. Stephanie is very patient which is a must with a bunch of lil kiddos. I can’t write about the other teachers, but we’re extremely satisfied with the program that Neisha’s has to offer and don’t understand the negative reviews on Unilocal.I attended 2 ballet recitals that were held at Eastlake HS and considering the kids that were performing were ages 5 and under, the recital went pretty well. The only cons that I can say is on the yearly registration fee that they charge.

They are nice, clean, well-structured dance academy. They are located deep within Eastlake in an industrial court. I personally like it. The teacher and class my daughter is in(pre-primary and Ms. Stephanie) is really good. Ms. Stephanie is patient with the students and she really takes time to talk to the parents too. Which is very important. Be prepared, they aint cheap!!!

Our daughter used to dance and do piano lessons at Neisha’s, then my husband got military orders overseas. We were away for 2 ½ years, and returned to the Chula Vista area. Upon returning to Neisha’s to register, we were forced to pay another registration fee, although our daughter was still in their system. I felt that they should have said, «thanks for your service, and thank you for returning to Neisha’s» rather than making us pay another registration fee. After several months of lessons, it became very obvious to us that the instructor did not bother to learn any of her students’ names, nor did she really seem to care if the girls were doing the movements correctly. It was almost like she was getting paid to do her own work-out. Another thing we noticed is that the studio seems FILTHY always. We began to wonder if the floors were even cleaned regularly in the dance rooms. The waiting area carpet was absolutely disgusting. Since there is now competition in the Eastlake area, Neisha’s ought to watch out — we left and went somewhere else for better quality and certainly better cleanliness.

Great facility and better staff. Neisha(The Owner) has been nothing but excellent. I have been working with and referring friends and family to her for over 5 years. Each have had a great experience and have continued to refer their friends and family. The facility is state of the art and caters to all. My cousin who has been dancing since age 5 looks forward to her classes and loves her teachers. I recommend you take a visit and try a class.

I would have done this review long time ago. My 4 y. o daughter had a bad experince. to the extent that she gets anxious when she sees the place thinking that i’m taking her back to Neisha. It was her first time attending a ballet class. The teacher didn’t even care to give my girl a warm up or exerting some effort to at least make her comfortable to her class. The teacher just went straight to her routine. I know there’s a time limit but, I guess, being a teacher to kids, u have to understand that they are unique and have different ways of adapting to any transition. This teacher needs to go back to basic. She needs to go over again the developmental stages or milestone of a child since she’s dealing with these awesome kids. This teacher maybe a good ballerina(who knows) but, definitely a lousy teacher. I spent more than $ 100 for nothing. Will never recommend this faclity to friends. Should there only be lower than 1 star, I would pick that.

The WORST ballet recital EVER!!! In a dwindling economy one would expect outstanding customer service and results from a so called prestigious dance academy. I pay good money throughout the entire year + driving + time + registration + costumes + tickets to see a great performance. Today’s recital was HORRIBLE!!! Beginning with the owner and so called MC in there low budget outfits. Every year I get dressed up for this recital to show my daughters that performing arts, especially ballet is a classy art where people come to see graceful talent… not the owner or MC. Instead the MC dressed up as if he was attending a Hawaiian Luau. Everything was rushed! Then…after waiting over an hour to watch my daughter perform, I couldn’t see her because they cramed 50 dancers on a DARK stage wearing dark costumes. The taller girls were in the front and shorter girls in the back. Can someone explain their reasoning behind this??? Cause it makes no sense to me. I was unable to see all the girls perform or have their moment on stage. After today’s debachal, I will definitely be looking for a new studio because I can’t waist my breath voicing my concerns to management. It will only put my daughter and I on their black list. This is what happens when businesses become too commercialized. Owners and management loose interest in their true passion and dedicate their time on $$$$$$!

We’ve been going to this school for nearly 3 years now. It’s not cheap but they have quality teachers. For ballet, they are one of the better if not the best in South Bay. My daughter has had the same teacher for years and I have seen my daughter grow in ballet. They also offer so much more in terms of music and other forms of dance. Let me tell you what sold me on the place though. They have a Kids Night Out for $ 25 for 4 hours. It’s a great slumber type of party every 2nd Saturday of the month. Kid Ventures down the street offers a Kids Night Out for $ 60 for the same hours. Try to find a babysitter for 4 hours that isn’t your 13 yo cousin for $ 25. Aint gonna happen. Is this a big deal? In the scheme of what they offer no, but I like how they make things like this available.

This studio has gone down hill. The owner is only concerned with raking in the dough. There USED to be a vibrant competition team, numbers and interest has dwindled as they seem only focused in raking in the money for classes and costumes but not giving the teams the exposure they crave to compete and gain recognition. They have discontinued private lessons and solo performances. Management is not open to any suggestions or criticism. Money talks at this studio. If you speak up for the well being of your child or in my case sibling, you are put on the black list, treated poorly, and receive dirty looks. The teachers have been great over the years but the management leaves something to be desired.

Neisha’s Dance Academy is the best dance studio around. My daughter has been going there for 3 years now and abolsutely loves it. The teachers are professional and very good with kids of all ages. This is a very nice facility and they offer every type of dance or instrument you can think of. I plan to keep my daughter here for a long time. I have seen her grow into a little ballerina and she loves the performances they get to be in yearly.

Neisha’s used to have 3 locations in Chula Vista… but she closed the small studios and opened this immense one in Eastlake. This dance academy is awesome! I would say that it has at least over 1000 students. The primary focus is Ballet(Point and private coaching too), but there is also… Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Creative Dance, Lyrical Dance, Musical Theater, Acting, Piano, Voice, Pilates and Zumba. Most classes are at the level of the student; depending on their year of experience. This is my daughter’s 4th year at this dance academy and she loves it here! It’s great for teaching your child discipline, stamina, responsibility and accountability. There are also parent/toddler classes, Preschool for the Arts, Kindermusik, Dance-themed Birthday Parties and Kids Night Out. Neisha’s definitely has it all!
