County of San Diego IHSS Public Authority

I have worked for IHSS for 12 years now and have had a few problems with timesheets and paychecks getting to me in a timely manner. However this morning I received an e-​mail claiming I have not turned in my provider sheet, well I have now turned it in three times with this one being the fourth time turning it in to them. I hope they get it this time and I don’t get fined or worse lose my hours that are not that much anyways. But then again this county public authority have their own definition of time. They also do not care if we get paid or not because they get paid regardless of our paychecks. I know that sometimes everyone has problems with this company and the state of California paying us. But otherwise I am o.k. with this company. I get to stay home and care for my husband and still decided to go back to college to get my master’s degree in business and now am working toward that. However, we are moving to another state that does not have this type of program from spouses or parents to care for family members so trying to figure out what to do when I do move to get a regular job with leaving my husband at home by himself which is not an option so I have to figure out how this is going to work. Other than that IHSS is an o.k. program and did not realize that it was available until after my husband was assaulted in 2004 and in the hospital for 6 months. I knew that he needed my help regardless if I wanted to give it to him or not, but now he is totally dependent on me and does not like anyone else caring for him. What a trooper though, still has his sense of humor and is a great guy. Being married to him for over 20 years has had its ups and downs and this is just another stepping stone in our lives.

For those whom had a chance to work for Department of Ihss of san diego and other area’s of California feels the Same! You Bust your But to work for them, told there watching You so they won’t be Cheated out of People Claiming Time For hours they haven’t worked! Surprise home care visits, Background checks, Promised Health care, Dental, get on Board for more Hours, Right? Wrong! People whom. worked for this establishment. For 2yrs or more –Have the same Story It Never Changes! You submit your times sheets, take there four hour class submit to a Background Check everything! Then, you get for one reason or Another! We didn’t get your time sheets, or You have To refill them out, or they haven’t. Gotten here yet (you send them off a week or 10 days ago) Or We Got 3~5 days to look them over before we mail Your Check! However, You’re on time keeping Your part of the bargain, Or they Can’t cover your health care-​for they’re waiting list is 17~18months behind! Dental, you have too fill out this Book, we’ll let you Know! Payroll You call-​Oh we got It we just Ain’t Mailed It Yet! maybe– tomorrow? or the next day! they don’t want too hear that on they’re TIme,!Just your Workers! I thank God every day for me having a job! But Im starving like others waiting for our checks! People’s Utilities, Car, Refrigerator, and Peace of Mind have Suffered Severly Due to the lack of the Concern from this establishment. It’s Very heartbreaking that I had lost my home, utilities, way too get to work (no gas) and have No Food to Eat-Why?We have 3~5 days before we mail your Check! So the workers Suffer for Policy or Lack of Concern about Who’s On The Job? Instead of Who’s Doing the job? I hope this matter can be address for were (the workers) are the ones Losing Out!
