This place was cool! Walked in and got this southern breakfast vibe, looked like grandma’s good olé kitchen! Good portions which I am a huge fan of! Better than ihop or dennys that’s for sure! I love these breakfast joints! Howeverrrrr thanks to the not cooked all the way hash browns that caused me to give this place three stars bye.

This place is the bomb! F*ck The Broken Yolk, Hash House A GoGo can f*ck itself too. It’s never crowded, I’ve never waited for over five minutes to be seated and the customer service is impeccable. I’m not sure why so many customers are denigrating the waitresses at the establishment. All females were polite to me, no complaining about coffee having to be refilled and my All American breakfast with corned beef hash and a ½ waffle was served within 10 minutes. It was a good day. I’ve never consumed lunch here but perhaps, one day I shall. But, breakfast here is always cozy, blueberry pancakes, you gotta have an opinion!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Not sure why this place has good reviews. Aside from the younger women seating people, who were very kind, I don’t know how to put it nicely but this place sucked(and mind you, I never use that word). From the atmosphere, service, and food, nothing was pleasurable in any way. Our waitress was rude when we told her we don’t eat meat and would like to substitute items in the meals. She didn’t want to help personalize the food in any way, she told all of us, «just get the garden omelet» otherwise you pay 0.95 for every substitution… On to the food, we tried various omelets, eggs benedict, tuna melt, hash brown, waffles, fries(there were 8 of us) and everything tasted very average to below average. The fries were frozen, the waffles were blah with loads of one ingredient on top, no balance in the sauce or fruit, etc. The food tasted like it was made by an 8 yr old. Even our eggs benedict had a hair in it. Our waitress never came back to check on us after serving the food. All in all, I was very embarrassed to have chosen this place to bring my family. I will not ever be returning and would have had a better meal at home than to waste my money on this place.

I had the meat lovers omelette, it was really good. It’s a cute little cozy place to have breakfast. The waitresses who helped us, Lora and Ashley, were very polite and took care of us great. Would Definitely recommend this place, this restaurant should have more business, but it’s a little hidden next to the courthouse on 3rd.

My daughter and I often enjoy breakfast here. The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The décor is a bit dated but I believe that’s the idea. None the less, I never have to wait for a table, food is prepared and served quickly and My daughter and I always get treated like royalty. I highly recommend!

Very nice and cozy place to have breakfast, the service is great and the food is very good, but make sure you bring some real butter with you because they don’t have it… can you believe that !!! a breakfast place with no real butter… they use margarine only. I will definitely go back but take my own butter with me.

Just kinda your basic run-of-the-mill diner. It’s in a weird location, don’t know exactly how you happen upon this place– we were just meeting people, so I dont know how they found out about it. Anyway, there was a little bit of a wait, but luckily it was nice outside, so we just stood in the weird courtyard area. Food and service was fine, but not great. Little greasy, but that is to be expected. Eh, whatever.

The waitress said she couldn’t serve us because I had an almost finished cup of coffee in my hand from Starbucks… Ok.

This is a cute little breakfast place hidden on Hst. The breakfast is very traditional. There’s usually little to not wait the mornings I’ve gone. I wouldn’t recommend ordering water though. It has a really weird taste to it. You can definitely tell its sink water. Other than that the prices are decent and the serves are sweet and check up on you regularly.

My hubby and I come here on Sundays right after early church so we never get a long line or wait which is great. I’ve been here usually for breakfast at other times and we’ve never had to wait longer than 5 – 7 minutes. The staff is always super nice, our food comes out quickly and hot and we’ve never had a problem with that! The crepes are awesome and they always have some kind of special on the board when you come in. Parking is easy too. A fav of ours!

The food looks good in the pics but no outside drinks, for you Starbucks lovers. When I arrived, I stood next to the«please wait to be seated» sign, nobody attended to me for a while, but it was long enough to stare at the picture menu at the entrance. Later, they asked my name and how many(just myself) but then left without saying if there would be a wait. I guess there is no bar here. A few minutes later I asked someone if there was a wait and she told me about 10 – 15 minutes. There is a small lobby with seats but all were taken so I waited outside. However, I was seated in just under 10 minutes. At this point, I almost left twice, once because of the sign and twice because they neglected to tell me there was a wait. My waitress was cool. I had the steak omelette. She brought me a «Tapatío» hot sauce with my meal without asking, even though there was already a «Tabasco» on the table. That made me feel special. She didn’t say anything but her smile said, «here ya go Felix, you and I both know this is better» She snuck that hot sauce in like I was her own from home. Good work, Laura. The food is just slightly better than Denny’s for about the same price. But most Denny’s let me bring in my Starbucks. I think the«no out side drinks» sign is getto. I wouldn’t bring a Starbucks to an upscale restaurant, but a classy restaurant doesn’t need such a sign. I respect the fact that they don’t want outside drinks, but I always ask before I do at other places like Denny’s. They have an IQ game at each table, but mine was missing 3 pegs, so I have to down grade my rating a star. The food gets a commendable 3 starts, the waitress, 5. But the host brings down the overall rating to 3 starts. Looks like this is a place for regulars. If you’re in to those kind of things. As I was waiting, an older man with a satisfied grin on his face patted the hostess on her back as she was leaning over to grab some menus and said, «Thanks sweetie» but to me and probably her, in a creepy way. I hope to be that guy when I’m his age.

This is a place you can go for fast service maybe not very friendly but fast. Food was delicious I had the pigs in blanket my bf had ti top omelet . We were seated fast but our waitress(never got a name or smile) was wearing cat ears but didn’t seem like too much fun. But food was delivered on time and was amazing big portions.

Tried this place for the first time today. There is really only two main things to know about this place. 1. SERVICEISNOTGREAT *expect to wait long to be seated *don’t expect a host to take your name upon arrival. I was waiting for a while until I saw others writing their name on a piece of paper on the check out counter, comes to be that the paper was doing the hostess’ job. So whoever arrived after me but wrote their name down was seated first. *the staff is NOT friendly *no hello’s, goodbye’s or smiles from the staff 2. FOODISGOOD * I really enjoyed my waffle, I had the banana pecan with Carmel sauce waffle perfection! * bacon was overcooked & too crispy for my liking *potatoes were a little too overcooked as well, I like my potatoes a little crispy but not burned or blackened Server wasn’t really around. I had to find the server to ask for a refill on our drinks. She did not come around once to check on us. Seemed like a lot of people were annoyed with their service besides myself. Oh well. Food is good but I wouldn’t die if I didn’t come back. I hope the owner puts together a better plan to please the customers & create a better environment . other than that it’s like any

My wife and I wanted to try out a different breakfast spot other than Denny’s and IHOP. We usually go to Original Pancake House because of their huge portions and great prices. We looked up this spot on Unilocal and saw the mixed reviews. I think there will always be mixed reviews with any spot you go to. We tried it for our first time and we were really satisfied with the food. We split two entrees with each other. I had the steak with three eggs, hash browns and two biscuits with gravy. My wife ordered the peanut butter and banana waffles with side of two eggs and two bacon strips. All of it was good. We enjoyed it and recommend it. There was no line and the food came out very quickly.

Country Waffles is one of those old school diners that has the best breakfast. It has a very comforting/homely feel about it. Ive come here dozens of times for breakfast only and the food is never disappointing Im not huge on breakfast but when it comes to country waffles Im all for it. I always get half a waffle do to the portion of it, it gets you full and they are always just right. The staff at this location are always really sweet and are familiar with the menu, but its just so slow and wait time is always long when waiting for your food and that is my only complaint. The food is excellent thought. Check it out.

We really wanted to like this place. We ordered the all American breakfast w/pancakes and the meat lovers omelet(no green onion) w/biscuits and gravy(extra cost for the gravy). When the meals arrived they were… Ehhhhh. My omelet had green onions but veggies were cooked well, so I just went with it. The biscuits tasted boxed, but a brand that I like so I didn’t mind, but the gravy was disgusting. The all American breakfast was bland and had to be showered in ketchup. The pancakes were mushy and bland also. But the absolute worst part was the salsa! It looked like tomato sauce with veggies. Oh yea! We also were never asked if we’d like refills on our water. Don’t think I’d go angels in.

I came here a couple of weeks back with one of my Best Friends after working out. It was early and we needed some food in us. Upon arriving here, we waited a good several minutes amongst a line of confused patrons who were looking for the hostess just so they could pay their bill. It was only AFTER this line of 5 – 6 people paying out, were we then seated. I ordered Chili because I’ve never had chili before that wasn’t Wendy’s or from a spice packet, so I was curious. The food didn’t take long to come out and it was pretty good but not worth bragging about. I was worried the Chili would be too salty, but it wasn’t. So no fears here about getting high blood pressure eating that dish. My meal also came with two separate containers of diced onions and cheddar cheese on the side. I ended up adding these two to my bowl which ended up making my dish better. If the first 10 minutes of waiting amongst that line of confused patrons were to foreshadow my experience at Country Waffles, then I clearly didn’t learn my lesson! After we finished our food, we ended up waiting 10+ minutes for the waitress just to give us our check! Since my friend left his wallet in the car, I paid. I can only imagine how long that could’ve taken just to get that split bill. When the waitress FINALLY came with the bill, we quickly headed to the front where«surprise surprise» the hostess wasn’t there… again. WTF! Does the Hostess just wait for the line to queue up? It wasn’t even that busy so it was confusing to see why she wasn’t in the front in the first place. At least we were first in line. When the Hostess finally came back and checked us out, I noticed that when she was waiting for the card machine to print out my receipt to sign, she got started on another patron’s bill. This made her faster, but I wasn’t positive that that way was entirely efficient. The line was pretty long at this point, and it was like she was just trying to weed through the line as fast as possible. Personally, I feel like that situation could be prone to mistakes. But I shook it off because I just wanted to get out of there. Overall, the food was okay but the service — especially the Hostess — was terrible. I feel like the rating exemplifies it all, «I’ve experienced better.» For my first time at Country Waffle, they left a bad first impression. For food that is just OK, I would suggest to just go to another brunch place for better service.

My Husband and I visited here on the Martin Luther King Holiday. It was a full house. We were sat right away and served pretty quickly. The greeter and waitress were both very nice and friendly. The décor is definitely country with pink floral wallpaper. It reminds me of a restaurant you would visit in Julian, CA. When ordering coffee, I like that they leave the entire pot at your table for you to serve as you wish. We both enjoyed our meals very much. The portions are a very good size. So much so that we brought left overs home. We will be definitely returning for a little bit of country and home style cooking in downtown Chula Vista, CA.

This place was ok. The waffles are presented nicely but they taste like pancakes. Way too fluffy and no crunch. I got eggs and hash browns and they taste very Denys. The place was super unorganized. We didn’t have utensils, they moved us because they wanted to use our table for a party. The server never introduced herself, she just came out of no where and asked what we wanted. As soon as our food came, she gave us our bill. I kinda thought that was rude. Overall, the service and food were very average.
