Great restaurant, great décor, great ambience, great service, and of course great food. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Korma, Aloo Golbi, Rice, Garlic Naan, and Mango Lassi. Everything was cooked well, and flavorful. The meat on each of the entrees were tender, the spices on the Aloo Golbi was great, the rice cooked just right, garlic naan had just enough garlic kick, and the mango lassi had a perfect consistency and perfect sweetness. Don’t let the dish sizes fool you, it’s more food than it looks. What really blew me away was the service. When we got the check, we pretty much cleared all the plates except the Aloo Golbi, not because it wasn’t good, but because then men in my family are stubborn about eating veggies so it was mostly me tackling the dish. Anyway, so one of the men working there whom I presume is either a manager or the owner came over concerned asking us if we didn’t like the Aloo Golbi and insisted that«if you didn’t like it I won’t charge you…» I think it’s outstanding for him to take notice and even offer that. Most other restaurants couldn’t careless! Anyway, of course I explained to him that we loved the food and would love to take the rest to go. All in all this is definitely our go to Indian restaurant from now on!

For several years we’ve only had lunch buffet at the restaurant and like the food. One time my family came to visit and my sister said she wanted to try this restaurant as her husband found it on Unilocal with good reviews. Of course I agreed because it is close to home and we like the food to begin with. However, I had never tried their al la carte which is served on the weekends during dinner. I’m glad my sister picked it because the food was worth my family’s drive all the way to Chino to eat here. I just have one recommendation. The salt can be tuned down a little. All the dishes were very flavorful but also slightly too salty. Without the naan and the rice they would have been too salty to eat. There were five of us in our party so we had a good array of dishes. Aside from being on the salty side, they were all very good.

Good lunch buffet deal and free rounds of garlic naan. The garlic naan was very crisp and had a good amount of garlic so it paired well with all the main dishes. The rice was fluffy and fragrant. All the dishes were pretty good although a little bit on the salty side. The chicken tiki masala is sometimes a hit or miss. Sometimes it can be creamier and other times it’ll be more runny and taste like its watered down. All in all its a good lunch buffet deal to satisfy your impulsive cravings for Indian food.

We love tamarind! We drive twenty minutes to come here when we have decent Indian food around the corner. The Naan is probably the best I’ve ever had. And the chicken tikka masala is what I compare all others to. Tried the ground beef and peas yesterday unbelievably tasty. The tamarind chutney and the salad are so delicious. Definitely try this place.

My favorite dishes from this restaurant are Chicken Tikka Masala and Daal Masala(lentils cooked in onions and variety of spices). Their dishes are well seasoned and it tastes great.

My family and I always go here for the Indian/Pakistani food. THEBEST. Hands down. We have tried other Indian/Pakistani restaurants and they don’t compare to Tamarind. The service is always exceptional. They are always nice, attentive, and friendly. Their lunch buffet is under $ 9.95 + tax. Their food is always delicious. Try everything! My favorite is the chicken tikka masala and the karahi chicken. For dessert, kheer(rice pudding with coconut) is something to always have.

My favorite restaurant in the area. Menu is great and price is reasonable. Nothing on the menu I won’t try. Be careful when you order a spicy hot dish though. It will be freakishly HOT!!!

Good food! Came here for my moms bday and my family tried many things off the menu. Ordered: Lamb korma(delicious) Chicken tikka masala(good) Karahi goscht/beef(good) Shrimp curry(meh) Aloo Gobi(very good) Garlic naan(couldn’t taste the garlic, should have just gotten plain naan) Paratha(good) Plain rice(good) Mango lassi(delicious!) Masala tea(tasted like bagged tea) Overall, good food. I’d love to try the lunch buffet. Would definitely come back again!

Took my mom here for her birthday and have to say I was very pleased. The service was on point and the food was excellent. It was a bit pricey being that it was dinner service and items are purchased separately. Just know that the servings are enough to feed 2 depending on your appetite. Of course we didn’t know that so we had a hefty check at the end. Also, dinner menu does not have dessert and they don’t serve wine or alcoholic beverages . Next time I plan on trying out their buffet. Ill definitely be back for more.

Tamarind is always a good choice. The ambiance is warm, and the interior design is classy. Their staff is always warm and friendly, and very accommodating. They have their weekday lunch buffet selection is superb. You’re basically getting a little taste of everything this place offers. I say just try everything, but definitely get the chicken tikka masala, spinach saag, and(a la carte only) vegetable pakora. They also serve the best mango lassi here. I’ve tried mango lassi elsewhere, and it just tasted artificial mango yogurt, but their lassi here is made from mango + kefir and you can taste the cardamom in it, which makes it authentic. Definitely do not skip this restaurant if you’re in the IE. Pretty much one of the best restaurants I’ve been in Chino Hills.

Came here last night for dinner. I was really craving some curry and naan. We ordered the pakoras as an appetizer and they were the best part of the meal. The jalapenos pakoras were on point and the sweet chutney was very good. We ordered tikka masala as an entrée and the curry tasted like tomato sauce from a jar with some indian spices. Very dissapointed and the worst tikka masala I have ever had. The naan was very good and crispy, though. The service was lacking yesterday as well. The server took very long to get us water and menus. Our food took a very long time to come out and we were completely ignored the whole night by the server. The pakoras and the naan give this place a three star, but we will not be returning.

Food: I usually come here for the lunch buffet. It’s 9 – 10 bucks for all you can eat indian food! The food is super fresh and it’s such basic indian food but I love it! Multiple curries and tandoori chicken it’s Sooo good! There’s also unlimited naan garlic and original! Yummy! They have awesome salad too tried to recreate it but failed. Service: Service here is awesome! They are very attentive without being annoying! Always refilling the naan tray and our waters! Asking us how the food is etc etc the boss also came out and asked us how we were and how the food is! They really care about your opinions and they really care about their food quality. It’s so yummy! Décor: Average but very small!!! But who cares yummy food

Solid AYCE lunch buffet for $ 9.99. Surprisingly the salad is really great here. Never thought I’d be getting multiple rounds of salad at an Indian buffet. The food is decent but I thought flavor was lacking on the tandoori chicken and chicken too dry in the tikki masala. My favorite curry might have been the one with cauliflower. I wish they had korma, but not complaining because the selection is decent. Lunch rush gets really busy and the food does run out quickly. Garlic naan is on point, although you have to ask for it in the beginning. Service is very good; water glasses are filled and empty plates are taken away immediately. Would give this place a 3.5 stars.

When you get good poisoning & vomit all night you know the food is bad. I am vegetarian and had the paneer dish. Everyone else had meat dishes. I got home, stomach grumbling. I could not stop vomiting for 2 days and had to take a day off work. WORSTFOODEVER.

Pretty decent buffet place, especially for lunch at $ 9.99SEVENDAYS A WEEK. That’s pretty hardcore and we saw a lot of families come in for Sunday lunch. We did have to wait a while, but the owner/manager was super nice and let us sit outside and wait and brought us all water. Buffet had a decent selection, but I could see how one would get sick of it after a while. My favorites were the okra(bhindi masala), spinach and potato curry(didn’t have much potatoes but it tasted good), and chicken tikka masala. Garlic Naan was essential and lovely when warm, but it was lacking that certain something. It was soft and crispy on the edges, but it didn’t have quite the garlicky taste you’d get at other places. The timing on this was tricky as we had a little bit during our first round and then during the second, barely any and when we were mostly done, 3 baskets of garlic naan came out and we felt the need to not waste any. Tandoori Chicken was pretty good but I kept getting mostly bone and everything was pretty salty here. From the first bite, it was salty but everything was ok to pretty good. The guys liked it, but I am not fully sold on it, despite the manager being super nice and accommodating to everyone. I’m more of a 3.5 Stars if possible, as I may come back one day because of the guys.

The best garlic naan I’ve ever had in my life! So fresh. So crispy. So garlicky. So. Damn. Delicious. Even though I can’t eat spicy food and I’m not big on vegetables, I love coming here for their 7 days a week lunch special! I mostly come for the naan obviously! But the hubby eats everything they have to offer there. My favorite is the chicken masala, though the hubby raves about their spinach saag — I just want the garlic naan! Place is really small, probably fits about 8 – 10 tables total. Buffet style. Owner/manager is very nice and friendly. Another great thing about this place is that it’s in walking distance from frostbite so I can always have my desserts after the meal, and that’s never a bad thing! :3

There aren’t a lot of Indian spots in the area and when I stepped into Tamarind, I was a bit hesitant. Stepping into an Indian restaurant is pretty much like a Folgers commercial because of all the herbs and spices. Tamarind didn’t have much of a smell so I didn’t know what to expect. Their lunch buffet was extremely impressive. There were a number of options and each item would be refilled when it started running low. Garlic Naan — Thank you Tamarind for overdoing the garlic. Lots of places are so chintzy with the garlic but Tamarind definitely knew what they were doing. The fresh out-of-the-oven naan had just the right amount of oil, cilantro and garlic. Makes for a great dipping tool! Chicken Tikka Masala — One of my favorite Indian dishes. The cuts of dark meat were extremely juicy and the sauce had just a bit of spice. Such a great pairing with the garlic naan! Keema — Minced beef with peas. Incredibly thick and flavorful. The peas were slightly sweet so the masala was the perfect accompaniment. Let’s not even get into the basmati rice. Just get it. Lots of it.
