Had to call the cops because drunk homeless people kept coming in to nap on the couches or look through the trash.

In town to visit my kids in college. They both had laundry so I told them I would do it for them while I was here. This place was clean and machines all worked. People inside were not homeless or scary. I was able to do 6 loads in under 90 minutes and it didn’t cost a small fortune. Only complaint was I purchased a 3 musketeers bar from vending machine for $ 1 and it was so old the chocolate was gray not brown.

The Mat is now our favorite place to wash clothes at. My girlfriend and I walked into a nice and clean laundry mat. We were nicely welcomed by the new owner Jacob. His optimistic attitude gave us a warming welcome. It was nice to see the tremendous transformation. We were expecting to walk into the old rusty and messy laundry mat that was not cared for. We enjoyed the conversation we had with the owner. He’s a super cool veteran. Get your laundry and head to The Mat.

Not the cleanest, not the newest, but they do top load specials for $ 1-​$ 1.25 a load. I’ve been to a few laundry mats in Chico that are of the same quality but charge $ 2.50 or more per load. That’s why I give this place 4 stars. Also, 95% of the machines work here unlike other laundry mats of this quality in Chico.
