Had never tried this place. I don’t eat doughnuts often, but when I do, I like them from a shop. :) I walked in, and asked for a certain type of doughnut to which the rude cashier responded, «Nope.» I asked for another variety to which I got another, «Nope.» I then walked out. I don’t need to spend my money at a place with that type of terrible customer service. I won’t ever go in there again.

I loved this place for donuts until today. I came for a donuts for me and my little boy. My total came up to almost $ 8. They have a $ 10 minimum purchase for card policy. They have obliged me in 2 other occasions when just missing the minimum by a dollar or two. They then offered to charge my card the full ten and right me a gift card. No thanks I traveled from corning to have this donut, I don’t come here enough to have a gift card with $ 2 on it that I will probably lose or forget I have. Now I have a crying 2 yr old. Thanks Donut Nook. Won’t be coming back for a lomg while!

Best donuts in town! –2 stars for service… yes, she was that bad. Clearly irritated that she had to help me and the several folks who came in while we ate. One poor girl asked for a knife and i thought death rays were going to come out of the employees eyes. The donuts are worth it though, just be prepared.

I didn’t actually get to purchase anything from here. I went in to get two separate boxes for two different places I was visiting for work. I asked if I could have six cinnamon rolls and six bear claws in assortments, 6 in each box.(They are huge– so didn’t seam like an unreasonable request) THEGIRLTOLDMENO! She said the only time she does that is if your purchase included a lot of iced donuts. It was crazy to me. She lost an $ 20 sale and opportunity to be gifted to two different businesses in Chico all because she refused to give me a second .50 box. I guess these people don’t really need the business.

I love that this place is open almost all night so dessert donuts can be a regular thing! Once, there was a magical night when they had chocolate donut holes. That needs to happen again. The fritters are great. They make their chocolate cake donuts with Ghirardelli cocoa, which is why they are perfect. I love this place.

What really irks me is the unprofessionalism of the staff. The owner, Joey, doesn’t give state mandated breaks and meal periods for 8 hr shifts. And this morning(8÷13÷15) one employee was yelling in the back. Apparently when the person she was yelling at left, the employee yelled out over the crowd«don’t ever come back here!» while the dining room was full of customers! So ridiculous to display such rude behavior!

Fresh made doughnuts how can you go wrong with that! I work close by and late at night you can smell the tasty doughnuts being made for blocks away. Maple bars, chocolate old fashioned… If a fresh doughnut doesn’t make you happy I don’t know what will. Thank you!!!

Very good donuts. Minus one star for the employee. She didn’t seem too happy to be there. The peanut butter square was yummy. Their donuts are even good a day old. Not stale like other donuts.

Dang you, D-Nook! I just can’t quit you! We use to live right down the street from this fabulous little gem — open practically 24⁄7. Oh how I miss our late-night walks here(yeah, we had to earn those donuts.) We no longer live in the area but always make sure to stop in and get our fix when we are in town. Staff is always nice. I love that little window where you can creepily watch the donut dude with the nice arms pound out dough and work his magic. And who doesn’t love those cute little tables and stools? Fresh ones come out at 10:30pm!

I was a frequent customer until recently, as I like my donuts with a little less sass. Pros: Good donuts Cons: Bad service I saw on here that there’s a $ 15 minimum for the use of debit cards, last I checked it was $ 10(the«policy» is constantly changing). Nonetheless, bring cash until someday the management realizes they should just factor the Credit Card Co.‘s service charge into the overall cost of the donuts.

Was craving donuts and went to this place based off reviews and was very pleased! It was around 11:15 on a Wednesday and the donuts were delicious! My craving was met! You need to have a $ 15 minimum with cards so either plan to by a couple dozen orrrrr come with cash! Must try and will get again!!!

This is literally the best donut you’ll have, ever. I’ve had donuts in many places – potato donuts in Santa Barbara, gourmet donuts in Los Angeles and San Francisco, «authentic» donuts in Washington DC, Krispy Kreme on the other side of town – nothing compares to the deliciousness that is the Donut Nook. It’s great early in the morning before class, late morning after a long night of festivities, or in the dead of night when you’re meeting up with old friends you haven’t seen for years. The staff is warm and the donuts often are, too. The prices have increased lately but not by much – you still get a ridiculous bang for your buck. The interior also looks like it’s straight out of the 70s. Their coffee isn’t bad, either. And the donuts? Whether it’s the maple bar, blueberry old fashioned, or chocolate square, whatever suits you will be the best you’ve ever had. They do everything extremely well. Make sure to ask what’s fresh, because that always adds that extra factor of warmth and gooey-ness. Overall, 5⁄5. I will be returning to the Donut Nook ritually until the day I die. Nothing beats the feeling of meeting up with your friends at midnight and laughing over a delicious donut.

Best doughnuts in Chico. Even better: open 24⁄7. For what more can you ask? It’s also a cool spot to meet young adults in North Chico, and area that generally seems removed from the college-aged crowd. And the later you go, the better the people watching :) Doughnuts are delicious, only problem is they’re cash only or debt/credit with a fee and $ 10 minimum, so leave your plastic at home(or diet before the big order).
