I lived in Lincoln Square for seven years, and this was always my go-to place for beers. Mr. Lee has a great selection and good prices. If you want some random ale brewed in Günter’s sex dungeon buried somewhere deep in the heart of the Prussia, then go to Binny’s or that overpriced hellhole on Lincoln, Gene’s. Last summer, I moved to Honolulu. Believe me, a place like Westwood does not exist here, and I miss it every day. On a personal note, the owner Mr. Lee is a great guy too. Sure, he’s not super talkative, but English is his second language, and he constantly deals with tools like T.C.(see the first review below). Mr. Lee works six days a week, from open until close. If you act like d-bag, he’s going to treat you accordingly. I’ve seen him deal with some insanity, including a lowlife Chad who tried to steal a bottle of Fireball. Jesus Christ. Don’t worry, though: If you’re cool and chat him up, Mr. Lee warm up to you eventually. I have no idea who named this«Westwood Food Shop» here on Unilocal. This is Westwood Liquor, dummy. This ain’t no food shop, unless you want to get some Snickers to go with your booze.

These guys have a very nice selection of liquor! I’d recommend trying one of their Slovenian wines– muskat ruza. Great find! I wouldn’t really call it a food store though. Either way, this is my go to liquor store in the area.

Been coming here for years! Where do I go for my condoms and cigarettes? This place has been here forever, and sometimes you have to give your business to the Mom & Pop Shop as opposed to the 7 – 11’s of the world. This reminds me, I should take a walk down the block tonight!

Corner liquor store with the basics. My last visit; picked up a 6 pack of Hoegaarden for a little less than $ 10 and a bag of frozen mandoo(dumplings). Korean owned store with a few Korean grocery items. Next to the dumplings were a few costly Banquet frozen meals, which is funny to me, just a block away is a dollar store where the same frozen meals are sold for a dollar. Inside near the door is an Atm.

Well, my charm usually works just fine and dandy on the over-50 group… unfortunately, as I have only hit this store up a few times, I am not a regular(probably a good thing as it’s a liquor store), and the man behind the counter here seems to be impervious to my charms… the horror! However, he did remember me one time and kindly reminded me that there are a few cold bottles of bubbly in the cooler… thanks, dude! In any event, it’s exactly what you’d expect in a corner liquor store. Small selection of wines, beers, liquors… but good in a pinch, and definitely convenient if you’re in the area.

The guy who works here on Sunday apparently thinks banning customers over slight receipt disputes is a good business plan. Considering there are four liquor stores within walking distance of this place, it’s really his loss.
