Excellent place. Service is amazing, food is delicious and all at a great price. Excellent vegan options(just ask your server and they’ll give you the inside scoop!).

I was disappointed in my visit this morning. The coffee was weak, my brioche French toast was rather dry, and they only bring you a thimble full of syrup. They suggested an iced mocha to my daughter, and once they saw she wasn’t drinking it they came over and asked if she liked it, when she replied it was bitter and didn’t taste of chocolate, they simply apologized, didn’t offer to make her something else, and proceeded to charge me $ 5 for it on my check. My daughter and I chose this as our«destination» for the morning, and I was really disappointed because it was my suggestion. Additionally, it’s really over priced…$ 25 for French toast, three cake balls, a regular coffee and the iced mocha disaster.

This is the place that got me to love brunch! It we great before they redid the menu, but it is even better now! The chicken & waffles is my favorite thing on the menu, and the dark matter coffee makes everything better in the morning! My fiancé and I love this place so much that we are getting our wedding cake from West Town. The staff is super friendly, and the people watching is not too shabby either!

I used West Town Bakery for my wedding cake and cupcakes for my January 2016 wedding. We selected this bakery as my husband has a dairy allergy. We wanted a wedding cake that was completely dairy-free and West Town was more than willing to help us out. They had a variety of dairy free cakes and frosting for us to try out at our tasting. We settled on the chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. It was delicious at the tasting and again at the wedding. We had another slice(or two) a few days later and it still tasted great. They were able to do a wonderful ivory lace design on the cake and it turned out exactly how I wanted. We did a two-tier cake with an 8 inch base and a 6 inch layer on top. Perfect medium sized cake. They say it will serve 34 people but I could see it serving closer to 50 people. We also did an assortment of mini cupcakes. We went with some dairy free and some with dairy. They have chocolate, vanilla, lemon, carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes with your choices of various frosting(including their cream cheese frosting with is amazing). We did 250 cupcakes for a 180 person wedding. They were so popular that I wish we had done more. I would definitely recommend at least doubling your order for the amount of guests you have as it seemed most people wanted to take a least 2 from the dessert table. The only frustration with the process is that there was a little turnover in the cake sales during our wedding planning process. This made it a little difficult to receive responses when needed. I had to reach out and remind them several times to send over my cake design. It all got done in time and hopefully with some new people in these roles, things will go a little more smoothly. All in all, I definitely recommend this bakery for your wedding, especially if you have food allergies to take into consideration.

The Benedict Fresca is delicious. I can’t not order it even though the menu here has many solid options. The service is always great and the food has yet to disappoint. Happy to have found this gem.

Nothing makes a better place to eat then good service. I recently went in and had one of the best sellers according to my amazing server«Kristin» called The Benedict Fresca. The busboys were absolutely amazing. I even chatted with a busboy who was very humorous, had glasses and very impressed how he treated other customers seated around me. Cupcakes were amazing. My personal favorite, the salted caramel cupcake. I will most definitely be back and encourage others to go in and enjoy amazing food and service. The only thing I can think of that kind of frustrated me was the wait to be seated, but the wait was worth it.

Delicious, cheap breakfast. And ask for the blueberry/lemon filled award-winning donut because it’s delicious. Or don’t ask for it, because they sell out fast, and I want to make sure there are enough for me. Many options for vegetarians. Wait staff is really great, very friendly and personable. I love this place and am proud it is in my neighborhood.

My dine-in experience here wasn’t so great but their donuts are delish so that sort of makes up for the lackluster dining experience and breakfast food. Dining here was an OK experience. The food is pretty standard for hipster diners in the area so you can get chilequiles, spicy stuff, Benedicts, etc. and vegetarian options. This is pretty typical for the neighborhood and, unfortunately, West Town isn’t doing anything incredibly new or super tasty that other places aren’t already doing too. Bloody Mary was blah. Tomato juice felt watered down and there was almost no flavor added(no spices, hot sauce, etc.). Not my cup of tea, especially at over $ 5. Stick with the coffee since it’s Intelligensia. The donuts, though… They are amazing. Get the Beer Pretzel Donut. It’s the first and last donut you need to eat in your life. It’s so savory, sweet, crunchy, salty… Everything you want in a fancy, hipster donut(and I don’t mean that sarcastically). Their pastries are excellent and I think I’ll only come in here to grab those and go in the future. They have sweets, sandwiches, and mini quiches that are all really good. Parking is metered on the street and there’s a patio for lovely outdoor seating in the summer.

I am novice vegan. So, I’ve been searching for a place that offer various options in breakfast, lunch, dinner and pastries. I heard so much about this place, but never had the opportunity to visit. I was impressed with the ambience. Laid back, casual and sociable environment. Only let down there isn’t enough selections of deserts for vegan. White tags are vegan and brown tags are non-vegan. There are more brown tags.

So my review is about the Cake I order last week. I’m gonna start by the ordering process. I spoke with Aimee Johnson, who could not have been more professional and friendly. Everyone I called or emailed her she got back to me right away. Now, the cake! OMG! it was probably the best cake I have ever had. It was a vegan vanilla cake with chocolate filling and frosting, 2 layers and weighted a ton! Lol Everyone loved it, vegan and not vegan :) highly recommend it.

Came here after reading Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. We were seated promptly for a lunch on a Sunday. I wish I had pictures of all the delicious food we ate. Not only was the food great our server was AWESOME! She was prompt, courteous and very accommodating. Two of us ordered the special Bloody Mary. I enjoyed mine throughly! The other person wanted to enjoy the Bloody Mary too but was unable because she had acid reflux. The server then offered to exchange it for their boozy hot chocolate — that was so nice of the server and our friend really enjoyed the hot chocolate! Before we left, we made sure to stock up from the bakery with cake balls and all sorts of goodies to enjoy later. Only regret is that we didn’t get more cake balls :)

They have really awesome vegan cupcakes so I was disappointed that their food wasn’t great. From the menu it seemed like the Smores pancakes would be a good choice… however the pancakes were too flat and crumbly and they also did not taste like anything really. Really disappointing. So my advice is just go for the cupcakes or any other bakery items.

This place is simply cool. The décor is retro with metal chairs, exposed brick walls, and album cover wall art. I wasn’t feeling my best after a long night out on the town, so I only had the parmesan potatoes– that’s honestly all I could consume at the time but they were delicious! Lightly fried and covered in a parmesan sauce– served hot and oh so good! My friend ordered the vegan biscuits and mushroom gravy and she raved about how awesome her meal was. The thing I am most sad about is I never got to try any of the beautiful baked goods. Made in house, Cake balls in every color and tons of pretty pastries are there for the taking. If you are in the area, check this place out!

They made a birthday cake for my sons birthday and to be honest I have had better cake from Marianos. I am very disappointed. The bakery is not even close my house and I drove all the way there to get a jewel kind of cake, just of course paying 4 times more that at jewel :( The cake was dry and frosting taste horrible sweet.

I’m so sad about this place. Why? Because I’m now going to gain 40 pounds knowing it’s right in my neighborhood. I needed a last minute cake for a work birthday celebration. I had my eye on the 3 layer turtle cake but they needed 48 hours notice to make it, instead, they steered me to the salted caramel. This is now referred in the office as the«crack cake.» It has sea salt caramel melted into the multiple layers. I don’t think any other words are necessary for this. It’s literally like a drug. I bought some cake balls in the shop because they looked delicious and my coworker loves food. When I got to work, I put the cake balls on top of the cake. Haven’t tried any oft these yet but have heard they are really good. While waiting in the shop for them to grab my purchase, I browsed the case of donuts, pastries and cupcakes. Luckily, I had my hands full or I would have dropped $ 100 easily on all of this deliciousness.

I could give this place five stars based on the cake balls alone! Everything I’ve ever had here has been great. It’s not usually too crowded for late weekend brunches, unlike just about every other place in the neighborhood. The staff is super friendly and the food usually comes out pretty quickly. I’ve ordered the Benedict Fresca at least 4 times now and absolutely love it! The perfect amount of food, and it’s not so overwhelming that you feel too guilty to splurge on a pastry. If you order lunch, definitely get the parmesan potatoes. They are out of this world amazing! Some of the other people I ate brunch with ordered the Juicy Lucy and the Reuben. The Juicy Lucy got two thumbs up, but the Reuben wasn’t much of a hit. But the cookies and cake balls to go totally made it all good. Now the real reason most people come in the door: the baked goods! Have I mentioned how good the cake balls are?! My favorite is the French toast one. The doughssants are sinfully wonderful, and perfect to split while waiting for your meal to come out. I’m also a big fan of the Dark Matter donut. You can’t go wrong with anything from that glass case filled with goodness!

I go out and eat instead of doing real work. It’s my way of procrastinating. We wound up at West Town Bakery & Diner on an early morning for breakfast and I got the short rib benedict which was fantastic. The pulled short ribs were flavorful and super juicy and the hollandaise sauce, though not like a ‘true’ hollandaise sauce in my opinion, was just utter buttery goodness. What an awesome combo along with the english muffin and poached egg! I didn’t care much for the hash browns on the side. They were kind of whatever in comparison to the excellent benedicts — essentially, they had no flavor. The corned beef hash was also served with potatoes which were too big and not very appetizing. The vegan chocolate s’mores pancakes though… that’s good stuff. These pancakes aren’t fluffy like your typical pancakes and they definitely taste vegan but it was surprisingly very good. Loved the dark chocolate taste of the pancakes. A pretty delicious breakfast but work on those potatoes! I was way too full to try any of their bakery goods but holy smokes, it looks like an awesome selection!

What better way to celebrate Easter than with a carrot cake waffle? I couldn’t think of one, so West Town Bakery & Diner became my breakfast destination this morning before driving back to Wisconsin. The interior was cute and clean and at 8 am was wide open. I grabbed a spot at the counter in front of the kitchen and was immediately greeted by the sweetest server. Working an early-morning holiday shift can be brutal, but she was as bright-eyed and metaphorically bushy-tailed as the Easter bunny himself. The waffle took awhile to come out, but it was well worth the wait. The exterior was crisp and gave way to a tender and flavorful interior that wasn’t too sweet. Underneath the waffle was a pool of caramel sauce, and the top hosted a dollop of cream cheese frosting. Four pineapple tidbits dotted the top and my bites with them were probably my favorite. The waffle was also served with syrup and butter, but I think those would have been overkill on an already rich plate. Despite walking in fairly hungry, I was only able to finish three-quarters of my plate and it kept me full for a good portion of the day. The bakery case looked equally delectable and I considered taking some things to go, but with a box of leftovers in my hand and a full stomach I decided to save exploring the case’s wonders for my next trip.
