Awhile back, I wanted to try a new restaurant one day so I decided to try out a hipster joint. Delish Diner popped up so I ordered the albacore tuna salad and a Delish Burger. Food came faster than I expected and I couldn’t wait to try it. The«Delish» Burger looked good on paper, but paper doesn’t always translate well physically. It tasted alright, nothing special, just your average burger even though it had a few different ingredients on it such as having an sunny side up egg as a topping. The tuna salad was the blandest tuna salad I’ve ever had and the serving size seemed like it was 1 ice cream scoop of tuna. The prices were pretty ridiculous($ 9 for the small amount of tuna and $ 8 for the small burger) which are expected from a hipster joint. I quickly forgot about the food just as fast as I ate it. If you’re looking for«exotic» food with enticing descriptions and super inflated prices then look no further. Typical hipster mess. I’m glad I went for delivery instead of picking it up myself since having to deal with skinny jeans, pretentiousness, «cash only» policies, and wanna-be«gourmet» food would’ve dropped it down to 1-star.

Read all of the praise for the eggs bennie, so we decided to see what all the hype was about. Definitely not hype. Great breakfast/brunch experience! Outstanding service. Happy to have Delish so close by!

I have gotten delivery from here twice and both times it takes about 2 hours to get to my house which is less than a mile away. TWOHOURS! The burgers are mediocre not worth the wait. Maybe will come again just for the desserts

It’s a diner with diner food. Slightly above avergae diner food, but diner food. Prices are decent. The burger is surprisingly good and cheap. It’s a hand patty topped with a fried egg for $ 8. Can’t beat that. They also serve alcohol but I have never drank there. Great for breakfast or lunch.

Place was ok. I went in for lunch with a friend and the food was ok, nothing great. Beer selection is decent. Place was pretty empty so not super fun. Maybe we just went on a dud day, but probably wouldn’t go back. More fun places to go.

I was really looking forward to trying out the«best eggs benedict in the city» which had been declared all over the Unilocal reviews for Delish Diner. While what I had(the eggs o benny’) was good it was nothing really special. I was underwhelmed with the portion for the price and the«fresh fruit» was still frozen. The service was on point and the décor was pretty cool.

I can’t eat Eggs Benedict anywhere else. This place has ruined me for all other Eggs Benedict. They’re too amazing. I walked into Delish by chance and it’s become our staple weekend place. It’s right off Division Street and when I saw their sign for Sunday Bloody Mary’s I knew I must investigate. They have an old classic diner feel with checkered floors and wooden booths– and then a fully stocked bar! The TVs will play Bears Games and so it’s a perfect place to They’re often busy but the line is never too long, and the owner is always there on weekends and always walks by the tables and asks about everyone’s meals. My favorite dishes: Egg’s O’Benny– corned beef hash and English muffin eggs Benedict Eggs Benowitz– nova lox and capers on a bagel eggs Benedict Challah French Toast– need I say more? Key Lime Pie– no fake food coloring required

Delish Diner has a spookingly cheap Halloween special. For $ 10 a person, each can enjoy a 3-course prix fixe menu of soup or salad, meatloaf with mushrooms and mashed potato, and dessert with the choices of key lime pie, apple pie, or cheesecake. The chicken with rice soup and cheesecake was very memorable. It was very warm and hearty, perfect for the rigid cold. The cheesecake was irresistible. The portions were also very generous. Along with the economical price tag, the meal comes with a complimentary movie showing with no cover costs. My friends and I visited on the Tuesday of Halloween week and«Nightmare on Elm Street» was played. Not the best movie to be served with your dinner, but it was still enjoyable. Service was excellent! Upon realizing my friends were over 20 minutes late, the owner/manager gave me a shot of lemon drop on the house. Very sweet gesture!

Great breakfast/lunch place Wicker Park. Most things on the menu aren’t very expensive and they have really good drink specials. It’s a diner, but oddly enough it has a bar so if you’re looking for a quick and cheap drink in the area you can stop by and hang out on the patio. The challa french toast is definitely the way to go for breakfast. If you are getting breakfast make sure you get an order of the breakfast potatoes; they are amazing. The only lunch item I’ve gotten there was the burger with the fried egg on top and it was really good, but I would still recommend breakfast.

Delish is Gorgeous. Great looking diner! This place is old, but immaculately clean. Gorgeous tin ceilings. Beautiful terrazzo floors. Solid wood booths and bar. The exact opposite décor of the other 2 styles that keep popping up in my neighborhood. The glass, steel, stone NEW modern, think Fat Pour. Or the little divey hipster dump, think Sunshine Café. Delish has a great outdoor eating and drinking café. Delish has $ 316 ounce cans of beer. A dirt cheap liquor menu. Delish has really good food. I highly recommend the soup and sandwich combo. Back to clean. Delish is unbelievably clean. Restaurant, open kitchen, bar, bathrooms, everything is CLEAN. Some people may overlook cleanliness, but reviewers should start with 3 stars for Delish Diner based on clean alone. The owner is a nice guy. I often bring a baby and a dog and sit in front and he always says hi and brings my dog a bowl of water. Classy Man. Delish has me. Love this place, especially for a few daytime drinks and a sandwich outside, soaking up some sun and people watching. Division Street has a lot of places to eat and drink. I think for value, cleanliness, quality and of course, CLASS, Delish Diner is number 1.

I want to go here every day! We didn’t get alcohol, because I’m pregnant and the husband was being supportive, but we both drooled over the cheap beer/drinks menus. I got the grilled cheese and fries, which were wonderful(grilled cheese doesn’t seem hard, but it’s not always satisfying, here it was!) He got the patty melt, and polished it off quickly. Service was great; fast and friendly. Some people were eating waffles which looked and smelled AMAZING, so we’ll be making a breakfast trip soon. I love diners, so maybe I’m biased, but it was very comfortable and the food was great!

Clean, attentive service, good food highly recommended.

After a recommendation from my BFF Martha Z., I knew I could count on this place to deliver, and figured this lovely day would be as good as any to check it out. I enjoyed my lunch so much I can even overlook the name that makes me want to punch Rachael Ray right in the babymaker. The retro feel is right up my alley and it’s not overly kitschy. Just right. Everyone in the place was super friendly, and our server, Lisette, was great. The food is nothin’ fancy, but it’s done quite nicely. My grilled corned beef and swiss hit the spot, and the fries were crisp and not greasy. There are things on the menu for my veg. companion, and you can get breakfast all day which is right up HIS alley. The place wasn’t too crowded and I didn’t feel a bit rushed which is a blessing on an unseasonably warm Saturday. St. Patrick’s Day even. And yes, I washed that sandwich down with a Green River. Perhaps a Green River Float next time. And there will be a next time.

Back to Delish for Saturday breakfast, and they earned their fifth star! I got the ‘two x four’ — two eggs + four pancakes. OMG. The pancakes! Huge, fluffy, heavenly, simple and perfectly cooked. I immediately gave two pancakes to a fellow(envious) diner, because I knew there was no way I could eat them all and I knew he wanted some. The eggs were good too — moist, flavorful, simple — I ordered mine with cheddar, which I’d recommend. Coffee kept coming throughout our entire meal, as did water refills and our waiter to check things out — all appreciated. My favorite thing about our breakfast here? [ aside from those lovely pancakes and fair prices ] It wasn’t body-to-body packed like SO many other brunch places. My group of three was able to walk into the quaint, open dining space and be seated immediately and we didn’t feel rushed to finish our meal.(No angry mob waiting to be seated? No dirty looks from impatient line-waiters?) It was almost as if something was missing — like we were in the Twilight Zone — but in a good, take-your-time & eat your pancakes kind of way.

I wish this place was all that it could have been. When I first came here, I think it was for lunch. I love burgers so had to sample the only place nearby that even sells hamburgers. It was only okay… god, burgers shouldn’t be rocket science. Not thrilled with them at all. My roommate got a ruben on special and she was quite disappointed with it as well. Breakfast? It’s okay… but I think Janik’s across the street does a better job(as long as they stay consistent) and the price is a little better. The manager seems super concerned with how things are running smoothly, but maybe he should focus on getting the food standards up a little bit. It just tastes like mass produced frozen stodge reheated and slapped on a plate with no attention to seasoning. If the food was like 33% cheaper, I might come in more.

Delish Diner??? After reading many reviews and seeing all of the great write-ups, I figured that I had to try this place. The visit started out well as the spot is really cute and we didn’t have to wait very long. We were seated quickly… but then no one came to greet us for quite a while. It only went downhill from here. It took forever to order… and since this was my first time at Delish Diner, I figured I should try everything. This wasn’t my best idea… Generally, the food was just ok, nothing special. The pancakes had a flavor that I couldn’t place, and they were basically impossible to eat because they kept disintegrating. To be honest, I don’t remember the other item I ordered… which is rare, as I usually can recall these things. However, this wasn’t the kicker… and here’s what happened. My dining companion ordered some sort of breakfast sandwich thing… unfortunately, there was a hair in it. Now, I know this happens, I know. This wasn’t the major issue. The issue was that we told our server and she said… nothing…not a thing… at all. She didn’t offer a new meal(sans hair), she didn’t offer giving us the sandwich for free, she just walked away. At first I thought our free cinnamon role was due to this… until I read all of the other reviews that indicate that everyone gets free cinnamon rolls(not good by the way). At the end, after giving us our bill, she offered a sandwich to go… but I’m not sure poached eggs travel well — new eggs during the meal would have been a better option. This tainted my entire meal. Not the fact that I couldn’t get my coffee refilled or water refilled(heck, it was relatively new and I know that it’s sometimes tough to get the service on track), not even the hair itself(goodness knows, this has happened to me before at 5-star restaurants, it’s a fluke), but the fact that the staff didn’t seem to care really got to me. So, I do not find Delish delicious and I won’t be returning any time soon.

Very unimpressive diner on Division. Everything here is something you can probably cook better at home. I’m not sure about you, but that’s not why i go out to brunch. If you are a fan of Salt & Pepper in Lincoln Park, then you will think this place is OK. Otherwise, go to Milk & Honey, Forno, Hot Chocolate, Bongo Room, Café Lucca, Toast, etc. All of those places blow this crappy little diner away. What gives Unilocalers? You guys are so off on this place its not even funny. I think the fix is in.

BYOB.(Four favorite letters.)((CASHONLY)) We walked in today around 1:45 for an extremely late breakfast. We were seated right away in beautiful antique booths. the vintage vibe was awesome. I was a little confused with the slow jams playing. When I think themed Diner I think upbeat music. Also music sets a certain mood. I was pleased with the service I received from Lisette. She was personable and sweet. The manage/owner(?) greeted us as well. Happy to see they have a waiting area for when it gets crowded and an ATM for those that do not get the CASH only memo. I had the corned beef hash, she had the Pancakes and eggs… We had to order a side of biscuits and gravy. Biscuits and gravy are phenomenal. They could definitely be a meal all alone. huge portion but there is a note that you can only have them before 2pm… large pieces of sausage in the gravy. Corned beef hash was cooked to perfection. they do not use shredded hash browns. and my eggs were cooked to perfection. Pancakes taste homemade and were really good. Can’t wait to come back for a Reuben or Monte cristo… Oh and a shake! they also have a Pie selection! Excited to see a diner in that area! Great Idea…

They are open now with a full menu and it is full! First meal — the Delish Burger(cheese, bacon, fried egg) with fries. If you are going to put your name on a burger it better be good… and it was. Second meal — Patty Melt… pretty darn good Third meal — Denver Omelet — good enough to perhaps alternate between the skillet down the street. There are so many things on the menu a such great prices I can see this place doing quite well. Looking forward to trying out a few items including most of the breakfast choices. Be sure to check out the weekday breakfast and lunch deals too! Service was great and attentive and as I made this such a big deal in a previous review I have to tell you they are a CASHONLY establishment. They also have a sign out front to let you know so you dont get blindsided. EDIT — No longer Cash Only! Décor is fun 50’s style with a lunch counter in the back.
