Randomly ended up here after the laguinitas brewery closed. The ambiance was amazing-a lot of soul and the drinks were strong. Some of the regular clients were a little less than friendly but overall it’s def a southwest side treat.

I didn’t like the drink I ordered, but their food is really good. Nice place to go after work. They also have slot machines.

My coworkers and I had lunch from Chef Armando, and let me just say it was so delicious! I had the turkey sliders and they are the best I’ve had yet! Beats Bacci’s turkey burger for sure!

Of course it’s not for everyone, hidden on the corner of Western. I can’t say I am a fan of course, but it was fun for what it was. Co workers wanted a «cheap» drink, and let me tell you it was far from it. A hard liquor glass was almost $ 9 and for a place like this that is just, well: A DIVE, that shouldn’t of been the case. I was rather surprised but at the same time I thought maybe its becuase we were dressed rather conservative and this place seems to cater to a less dressed crowd. Water Hole, hmmmm we should’ve really thought of that before entering do rained libations. But on the plus side, they serve a hell of a great fried chicken wing! Of course you have to order the food and really know what southern fried chicken is, yes they don’t play when it comes to the fried chicken. It’s been one of the least known spots to have it made this way. But again, is the bar part of this joint what I would keep coming back to? Nope.

super hospitable, very friendly, the jerk chicken wings and dirty rice, OMG so good. My friends wanted to leave, but Elmore James Jr. was going to play. This is a preliminary review based on one visit, but it was a very good experience. I’ll be back. This is in a crappy location. People probably pass by a lot and think, maybe I should stop and see it, maybe it looks threatening, like a bar in the hood someplace. I wanna visit more and get a better sense, but I think it probably deserves more love than it’s getting. If you’ve been driving by or taking the bus by on Western for years, going ‘hm, what about that place?’ like me, you should swing by sometime. I hear they do amazing sets during Blues Fest.

I visited this place sometime ago with my sisters and I have to say this was one of my memorable evenings. I never been in a place like this before, which made it exciting. The name says it all, «Water Hole Lounge». It has a southern-like feel to it. Older crowd seemed to be in the front and younger crowd in the back, which had a DJ. The drinks were decent and easy on the wallet. I recently found out they serve food. Overall we met new people and had a nice time.

Visited Fri night several times to watch a friend play, and we really enjoy this place. Can’t be beat for being a great dive joint with live blues, warm friendly people that make you feel like family. Very informal and comfortable atmosphere, not too loud, no one’s shushing you if you talk, but why would you? Mary Lane and her band are entertaining, and it’s really fun when she invites guests up(lotta musicians there, and they all know each other.) The regulars are a trip! Mr. Sat. Night DJ, you da bomb. We’ll have to drop by to hear what you’re spinning. It’s split into two rooms, bar in front, and music in the back room with another bar. You can order fried chicken or catfish, comes with fries and a slice of white bread. Cook is very tall — and funny.
