I used to bring film here to get it developed, because they were one of the few places that still processed on site. Now, instead of processing your film onsite quickly, they send it out, and you get it back in a week. Fine, whatever. I mean I could probably do that myself for cheaper. The really great surprise is that the fine print of your ticket tells you that you don’t get your negatives back. Instead you get their crappy«photo cd.» So instead of getting back negatives with more resolution and color gamut than my nice, 24MP digital SLR camera, I get back crappy 1.6MP scans. When I noticed this fine print on my ticket, I called to see if I could get my film back. The very rude woman on the phone told me that my film had already been sent out. I got the very distinct impression that that would have been her answer no matter when I called. When I mentioned that they should probably tell people they aren’t getting their negatives back, she told me that the person who took my film should have told me that. I KNOW. I JUSTSAIDTHATTOYOU. Thanks for ruining my vacation pictures, Walgreens.

I love this location. I love the staff. Everything is always stocked, the pharmacy is always informative and pleasant. There were some hiccups when they put in the totally self checkout bullshit but they have since realized that you can’t replace good people with a scanner. They must be doing something right for their employees because I see the same faces every day and they always make me smile.

I love my corner, local Walgreens. I have been going to this store religiously for 10 years for everything from prescriptions, cleaning, hygiene products and even food. My girlfriends ridicule me mercilessly for being so dependent upon this store. I am especially dependent upon the excellent care and service I receive from the pharmacist and pharmacy assistants I’ve gotten to know, like wonderful, old friends. I guess they did such a great job that they’ve all been promoted and moved to other stores in the last year. Now, there’s only Chris A. left from the old crew, and I can’t speak highly enough about Chris. He’ll see me trying to reach something on the top shelf, and come out from the pharmacy department to help me get what I want down. I’ve called the pharmacy staff here while out-of-state because another Walgreens screwed-up my prescription, and they are always helpful in trying to give me advice on how to correct the problem, if they can’t correct it for me. They even remember who I am on the phone and understand that I am a spaz. They always take care of me, and for that, I am a very loyal customer. I get so teary eyed when I think how my pharmacists at this Walgreens are so progressive that they see my significant other and my cat as my family, and they allowed me to put them on the Walgreens family pharmacy card which has saved us hundreds if not a thousand dollars on all our prescriptions since my SO and I have HSA insurance and our fur baby has none. Thank you for seeing and treating us as a family unit!

Pretty big store. They had everything that I needed to grab which was quite a bit. Couldn’t find the mosquito bite cream and asked for some help and the girl walked me to where the cream was which was very nice of her. The thing I like about Walkgreens is that they have almost everything you need to survive. They’ve got food, drinks, medecine, office supplies, etc.

I never tire of hearing Led Zeppelin’s «Fool in the Rain». Seriously. Bonzo’s drumming is inspired, and Page is totally stretching out, trying things even his fast fingers can’t accomplish. Puts a smile on my face everytime, so this Walgreens had an advantage when I walked in, heard the last strains of Jimmy’s guitar solo, and then heard a young African American employee whistling along to it. Damn, I love this City. This is the closest Chase machine to the Clark and Lake, CTA mega-station. So I frequently stop in, grab some cash, grab a Vitamin Water and snacks, then use the new self checkouts! Not a rude or uncommunicative cashier in sight! Not sure if I really like this new feature, but it’s here!

I go through phases of loving and hating this Walgreens since it’s practically my go-to Walgreens for everything from emergency Imodium to prescriptions to afternoon munchies of popcorn and treats. Before their recent renovation, the checkout lines would bunch horribly with many customers and too few staff. They seriously should have planned for more staff from the hours of 3−6p.m. with the crush of office workers getting snacks to quick trips for milk on the way home. I hated, hated waiting and the judgmental looks from staff as I purchased my goods. No joke, they raised eyebrows quite often here. Well, the miserable line is a thing of the past with their new self checkout kiosks. Dare I say, I love the self checkouts. I thought that I would hate, hate them since they intimidate at the grocery store, high pressure, lots to organize sort of thing. For this Walgreens, the self checkouts are godsend. With a few items in hand, I can quickly scan my goods without judgy wudgy eyes glaring over my choices and be on my way. I have renewed love for this Walgreens with their fancy self checkouts. No more lines, more b.s., just me and stuff on my way for a great day.

This Walgreens bites the big one. The place is a complete cluster****. I don’t understand this newfangled non-line forming business, seemingly copied from CVS, but it HASTOGO. Additionally, if your systems are down, and people are waiting around, maybe you should tell them! They get two stars, however, for carrying every type of Pocky on the market. I no longer have to traipse across town to the Japanese grocery store when I’m craving some Men’s Pocky. They also have those Japanese grape and melon gummy candies.

A very convenient location for people who work in the Loop. I usually come here for for prescriptions, snacks, and greeting cards. Checkout is quick and the staff is helpful. The pharmacy was extremely nice when I had an issue with a prescription — they worked with the pharmaceutical company to get me a replacement for free. Watch out if you fill embarrassing prescriptions, though. I now know what kind of birth control my coworker uses, thanks to them blurting it out by brand name. TMI!

We were thirsty, and alcohol wouldn’t cut it. We reasoned — correctly — that Walgreens carried water bottles, so we went there. Besides the«I LOVECHICAGO» shirts and all the Cubs merchandise, this location looks like any other. Quickly scanning their selection of H2O, we made a beeline for the cheapest stuff.(Top shelf liquor, sure, but water? No thanks.) An employee happened upon us, and took the time to share a special they had, and she even went to the front to get a catalog for us, complete with coupons.(Comically, the water we wanted didn’t roll down easily; I climbed onto the shelf to retrieve them, even getting two bottles for another customer.) Thanks to her, we left Walgreens less poor than we would have been, and with more water than we could possibly drink. Thanks random Walgreens employee!

This Walgreens is nice and clean and conveniently located right outside the subway entrance at Clark and Lake. The only reason I am reviewing this is to mention that the selection of products, like many of the other Loop locations, is not as vast or varied as bigger Walgreens outside of downtown, and is a bit more expensive. The hours are a bit more limited – it’s only open until 9 weekdays and I think the pharmacy closes before that. So if you like to have the 200-ct Walgreens brand naproxen sodium(generic for Aleve) for $ 11.99 instead of getting the expensive Aleve brand itself, you’re not going to be able to find it here, just so you know.
