I went to this bar when I was seventeen… got in with a few friends because they«knew people,» AKA knew a promoter who just so happened to also be underage. I literally the only girl there who was covered past my bum– obviously I overdressed. The bar was filled with people 17 – 20 years old and lots and lots of Italians. Bar service was mediocre, drinks were just okay. I had a friend visit Vain a few weeks before I did. He parked nearby on the street. The first night he went his car was broken into and purses were stolen. The next night he went he also parked nearby. This time, his entire car was stolen. Lincoln Park is a fairly safe neighborhood but I definitely do not recommend driving. In general, the place wasn’t anything special.

$ 10 dollars for a cocktail and it’s served in a plastic cup which is best described as the kind a family with small toddlers would use. Premium alcohol just doesn’t taste as good served in that. You can see glass behind the bar, just unsure when or to whom they serve that in. I’ve heard a ton about Vain and since the time it changed from Big House I never cared to come and check it out. Looks as though it’s interior and walls have become pallid, darker and not mysterious but junky. I arrived with friends coming to see a buddy spin his heart out, DJ Big King spun a pretty good set. My most memorable part of his set was hearing a good transition to Ghosts n’stuff — Deadmau5, great song, while bobbing my head and …. Cover can be free some nights till midnight, there can sometimes be a $ 10 cover. Free for us since we were with the DJ. There are two floors that this cover gives you access to and a supposed VIP3rd floor which carries its own $ 20 charge. I suppose it may contain the hotter of ladies of the club, who knows and who cares. At the door on some weekends you can opt to get a wristband which gives you 2 hours of open bar for $ 40. Factor the $ 10 per drink charge which I mentioned earlier and it makes sense, if Vain is your whole night. Like Moise K. said in his review«The crowd is a fit between trashy and classy which make it look like a zoo.(A zoo? Yes a zoo). I really believe in specialization and classification when it comes to clubs, so everyone knows what they are getting into. Don’t show up in Bebe, Juicy Couture and Prada if it’s suppose to be GAP or TARGET. I know you feel me! « Different nights = different kinds of diversity. They have a taste for everything, house music, latin vibe, Asian night, etc.

Vain Nightclub Fridays & Saturdays This is a simple local night club trying to make a big name. They changed their name, remodel but kept the same owners. There is nothing special about this venue. For what you are paying for… this is a true sh*t-hole trying to make a buck… and I’ll tell you why. If you are going to pay downtown nightclub price on a mix drink, martini or even a $ 5 beer, you better receive the downtown nightclub treatment or at the very lease have a nice décor to make it feel right. They have a washroom problem, always a line and always a pain. Dance by the waterfall and get ready to be splash with some dirty water. Get ready to enjoy long lines when clearly they have room. Parking is a joke. Promoter — Base on your nationality; make sure you go there on the right night. They are known to host niche events that cater only to black, asian, latinos or Indians… pick your night wisely… Music is alright, the promoter would bring their own DJ… This club continues to disappoint me. God, I think WET nightclub is a better venue… and that should say a lot. One star
