I wanted a pizza tonight, I knew there was a chance that it could be busy so when I called this location, so I asked how long it would be. The guy on the other end said 30 – 35 minutes… brilliant. I ordered a pizza and some Topper Stix. An hour later I still had not received my pizza, so I called to check the status. I spoke with a female employee who I later found out was the manager. I asked her what the status of my order was and she put me on hold to check. She came back and said my order was out for delivery, apologized for the delay and said it was caused by a lack of delivery people; not my problem, but I understand things happen so whatever. A half hour after that, now 90 minutes after my initial order, I call again. This time I talk to a guy who says that orders are delayed because of the Cubs game and it would be at least another half hour before I got my order(that would be 2 hours from original order for those of you keeping score at home). Side bar: This location is less than a half a mile from Wrigley Field. The game tonight wasn’t a surprise performance, or a make-up game, or anything like that. The game was also going on the entire time so all of the extra people that would’ve clogged up traffic WEREINTHEBALLPARKTHEWHOLETIME. I hope think that a business in this proximity to Wrigley would be used to dealing with doing business during a Cubs game since they happen oh, I dunno, 81 times a year. I ask to speak to the manager and he gets the female I spoke with before. I ask her why she told me my order was out for delivery when it wasn’t. She said she«looked and didn’t see my pizza so she just figured it was out for delivery.» Quite thorough. Anyway, I ask for a refund and the number to the corporate office, she tells me she«will refund my money but if I want the number to corporate I can find it online.» Then she hangs up on me. I did not yell or use an ounce of foul language during any of my calls to them. This is what I get for ordering from here and not Panino’s. Lesson: DONOTORDERTOPPERS — ORDERPANINO’S

I am very disappointed with this location. I have ordered delivery from toppers from this exact location multiple times without issue. They have a good quality product, usual quick delivery, and normal service. I don’t expect much from a pizza delivery place, but my last experience has me completely turned off. I called into this Toppers location last night and order a pizza to my apartment. The same as I have done times before. Everything went as normal. I paid by card. He said it would be at my apartment within 40 minutes. About 30 minutes later I received a call from the same location. A new employee informs me that they cannot deliver to my location. I am obviously confused. Why can they not deliver now, but it was no problem the plethora of times before? I try to be understanding and ask why this would now be an issue. The answer was«some drivers do not know how far they can actually go?» Hmmm sounds like a communication problem to me. Even in my confusion, I try to be understanding. I then ask, «well my card was not charged then, correct?» The answer is what truly has me fuming. My card was charged. And, the transaction will be in pending until Monday. Even with the refund… I am confused. If my card was charge, why in anyway would I receive a call 30 minutes later to inform me that they cannot follow through with our transaction? The woman I spoke to was very kind, and I understand it was not her fault. But, the lack of communication, and the wishy washy service has me wondering. Did they just not feel like making this delivery? I am utterly confused and disappointed with the service I received. I live exactly 1 mile from this location.

This review is for this location only and in regards to customer service, not food quality. It is based on one recent experience. If I were rating Toppers food, I would give 4 stars. They cancelled my order without contacting me. I later found out they were claiming I was not in the delivery area but I checked their website and I am. Even so, you don’t cancel someone’s order without at least telling them. They also claimed they tried to contact me but that’s just a lie because I double checked and my phone number that I provided was correct.

We got two large thick cut spicy pepperoni pizzas, they were delicious. Took under 30 mins to arrive and the delivery guy apologized for being late! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten delivery in this city that quickly! Overall wonderful customer service, I actually regret not tipping even more!

The pizza and breadsticks remind me of Pizza Hut and the dipping sauces are a rip of of Papa John’s but with more variety and better executed. With those frame works its pretty decent for something generic. So many better pizza options in Chicago, but this isn’t by any means bad. If I was in another town I’d pick toppers over the other national options.

I try not to write negative reviews because not all taste buds are created equal but, I have good taste buds and Toppers was just not good. I ordered 1 hand tossed, 1 thin crust and an order of the new garlic topper stix. The delivery guy was probably the only reason I gave them 1 star, the pizza’s I ordered were with extra cheese and if that was extra I’d hate to see what«normal» is and the toppings were basically nonexistent along with the sauce, and then there’s the crust, the thin I swore I was chewing on the box it came in, the hand tossed was by far the better one of the 2 but, still tasted like the box only easier to chew. Was it the night? This location? Not sure but, I’d have a hard time spending that kind of money(I did the BOGO night and it was over $ 30 for 2 mediums, stix and delivery not horrible but, not exactly cheap) for the experience I had.

This place is awsome. From the pizza to the prices to the employees this is a great pizza location you can’t go wrong. Only my 4th time there. I don’t live in Chicago(best city ever) but worth it everytime. The manager is so nice and sweet. She has awsome customer service skills, does her job right everytime and runs the place like a well oiled machine. I should know. I have over 10 years working in retail, restaurant and pharmacy to know how to work with the public. Rare to see that kind of service from any big chain. One more thing. Go Cubs, Go. This is the year. No really. The world series is ours. The wait is over. Victory is ours. Time to buy world series tickets. You got yours?

My favorite pizza place in Chicago. We usually get a large pizza, half Mac n cheese half load tot and an order of original topper stickers. The parmesan garlic dipping sauce is a most try! We usually get it delivered. They are quick! Today they said an hour & were here in 45 mins. The customer service is awesome!!! I had trouble ordering online so they kindly offered me a discount. That’s the type of customer service that makes me feel appreciated & coming back.

This place is unreal. We live 0.9 miles away and called for delivery. After struggling to take our order, the under the influence of marijuana employee confirmed it. Then 45 minutes later the same guy called(probably after toking up again) to say something incomprehensible and hung up. About 90 minutes after my original order, I called to check status. A new person fielded my call to tell us we are out of their zone. Well, time to use one of the many other pizza places in the Chi.

If you are in the area and looking for quick, tasty pizza, look no further! Toppers has amazing customer service, fast delivery, reasonable prices and good tasting ingredients. Truly, they have amazing customer service– always friendly on the phone & in person. If they are slightly late(which is hardly ever) they always compensate with a free pizza. I’m glad to have found a place that knows the value of treating customers well.

As good as pizza from Papa Johns, the style, craziness and crust are mirrored. If I were in my twenties and into weekend binge boozing, I’d probably be one of their often, 2 am customers. All the pizzazz you expect of fast food pizza. Multiple kinds of dipping sauces. All flavors of wings. Breadsticks with cheesy goodness and other toppings. And all of this packed into brightly colored pizza boxes which grab and inspire your hunger addiction. The pizza was alright. Had I been able to enjoy a hot slice or ask for them to make it «well done», meaning a crispy crust, I think it would have been better. As is in the box, the pizza looks like most«fast food pizza» variety.(I also ordered a ten pack of wings) Which I watched emerge from the same oven which baked the pizza. The meat came off the bone easily and had an ample amount of sauce to them. With the purchase of my pizza, this location offered a special to try their cheesy breadsticks. With each item ordered a sauce was available. I got marinara, bleu and nacho cheese. The marinara tasted like halitosis, the bleu was as any sauce made with ingredients you can’t pronounce and the nacho was alright.(Hey management: How about fresh sauces?) In the realm of fast food pizza, this joint is probably the«Best» of the rest. Their claim to fame includes being in business since the 80’s and their ability to expand locations across the U. S and into Canada. It all started with an a recipe passed down from a great ancestor, then at some point a great grandson started creating pizza recipes and voila! Toppers was created. Part of the flair is in their ingredients which they claim are fresh and placed atop a dough which is handmade daily. Last but not least. Many of these low starred reviews complain about quality. In their shop, a wall placard spoke of their quality guarantee. It’d be wise to read up on it. If a customer feels that their purchase isn’t of the best quality or taste, management would choose to replace or refund the order.

As far as I am concerned, this place owes me a pizza. A fresh pizza. About the only positive thing I can say about them is they tried to get the pizza to me. I placed an order on line and the system told me it would be delivered at 2:19. At about 2:50 they come in telling me they had no delivery person, and the young lady walked. Kudos for the effort. That is were the good ends. Obviously the pizza was cold, crust hard, flavor barely existent, garlic butter coagulated, pieces turned upside down. I feel I would have been better served to walk up to Jewel, buy a Totino’s for $.99 and bake it on the sidewalk with the assistance of a magnifying glass. It is disappointing that there was absolutely no communication from the store to let me know there would be a delay and/or to give me the option to either pick it up or cancel the order. Yes, I went in with reasonably high expectations but this experience pulled the rug out from under me and then covered me up again with the same rug as I lay there writhing in misery. Bottom line, with all the choices for pizza and other foods in the area, you would think a place would go out of the way to make sure the customer was reasonably happy with the product(or at the very least, produce something reasonable). Granted this place is in the same ilk as Pizza Hut, Domino’s or Poppa Johns and at this point, I would be much more inclined to recommend any one of them over this place. Do yourself a favor, find your way to Coal Fire Pizza.

Pretty disappointing for the most part. I’ve attached pictures that show how the pizza and the toppers bread arrived. It is quite obvious they were either thrown into the boxes and thrown into the car for delivery. I’ve never had pizza arrive in such a sloppy state before. Taste: I order the meat topper pizza. Lots of toppings, maybe even too many. The taste, bland and dull. The toppers bacon bread however was very tasty. I might order this again but definitely not the pizza.

It tastes a lot like other chain pizzas not in a bad way but they have good pizza options. What I was really surprised by was how good customer service the delivery man gave. He was very polite and accommodating to a level I really was not used to with deliveries and it made my first experience with toppers a great one. Keep up the awesome customer service it really set you apart so far.

I’m a little skeptical of all pizza chains, especially living in a city like Chicago with world class pizza joints scattered throughout the city. But sometimes I just need a hot pizza delivered right to my door at a reasonable price — not a dining experience. In this regard, Toppers certainly exceeded my expectations within the mass-produced pizza chain category. The quality of their hand tossed crust far exceeds Domino’s, Papa John’s and Little Caesar’s. Their topping options are unique and flavorful. Their dipping sauces are far better than the competition including local favorites like Jet’s. I got the buffalo chicken pizza and it tasted like legit East Coast buffalo sauce. I have a pretty high spice tolerance and I found that the mild is plenty spicy enough. The Topperstix were less impressive than the pizza, so I would recommend upsizing your pie instead. Service-wise, they delivered within a reasonable window, considering there was a Blackhawks game that night and the pizza was still hot when it arrived. I’m glad Toppers is starting to spread through Chicago to provide a solid alternative to the other weak chains. It’s not going to supplant Vito & Nick’s, but you’re going to end up getting Toppers much more often due to convenience.

I went in on a Saturday afternoon with a coupon for a 9-inch pizza and 20 ounce soda. The place was empty, but very clean. My pizza was ready in about ten minutes. I got the one called Three Little Pigs, and the aroma alone was amazing. The hand tossed crust is the soft and chewy kind, and while I usually prefer cracker crust, this was one of the best soft crusts I’ve ever had. The toppings were generous and flavorful, and it was VERY filling. I was decided by three bites in that I’d be back. I can’t speak for delivery, but otherwise I’m guessing the poor reviews are based on this place being new and needing time to get things down and have good employees. They gave me a flawless experience.

I walked in after Cubs game. No one here. Ordered food and after 10 minutes I hear them putting my order in. Though it’s empty here. I over hear one or more staff saying they will quit and won’t take this _______here. And continues to complain about her job while i am feet away. Hope food is ok. Owner should fire loser staff who should either quit or stop complaining publicly about hating there job.

I ordered one of their specials(9 inch pizza and a 20oz soda). I also ordered a ½ pound of parmesan garlic boneless wings. The delivery time was spot on, however the driver forgot the soda. He gave me $ 2.00 to cover the cost of the soda and apologized. The pizza was pretty good despite being barely warm. Again the boneless wings were pretty good despite being barely warm. A ½ pound order consists of about 6 or 7 boneless wings. Missed part of the order and the food temperature was way off. C’mon.these are basics! There are too many delivery options to have to accept marginal quality.
