The Wagyu Wagon is at our hospital occassionally during our cafeteria renovation. They had a limited menu(understandable for such a large location such as ours) consisting of a wagyu cheeseburger, philly burger and a buffalo chicken sandwich(each was $ 10 w/chips). They also had a summer salad option($ 6). I chose the buffalo chicken sandwich with blue cheese slaw. The service was fast and friendly and I was excited to try my first experience with Wagyu Wagon. I was so disappointed! Here are the positives. The chicken was cooked well and was tender and the bun was soft and delicious! I could taste bursts of flavor from the buffalo sauce and the blue cheese slaw but in general there was not much to it. It seemed underdressed — at best — so I felt like I was eating a very expensive cafeteria chicken sandwich. I can tell that this sandwich probably has been served better but they missed the mark today. I want my $ 10 back!

They were one of the food vendors at the recent Dose fashion/food market at East River Art Center. Having no knowledge of Wagyu Wagon before and didn’t think about Unilocaling it either, I ordered the mushroom truffle risotto($ 5) which was created from scratch — good portion, perfectly seasoned, the truffle taste strong; and also the lychee berry compote pound cake — the cake was light and the sweetness was brought on mainly by the berries and not a syrupy sauce. Thoroughly enjoyed their food offerings and would have tried their ahi tuna or salmon poke dishes next time.

I just have to say this is one of the best food trucks around. Aaron’s burgers are AMAZING. My husband and I are addicted to these burgers. The Dirty Sanchez is my husband’s favorite. A wagyu beef burger cooked to perfection with chorizo, avocado spread, roasted poblano peppers, and pepper jack cheese. Really an amazing burger! My favorite is the Longhorn. The same perfect wagyu burger with pulled BBQ pork, American cheese, slivered jalapeños and an onion ring omg sooooo good. Love this truck and Aaron is a really great guy. I highly recommend this truck to anyone who loves a GREAT burger!

Wagyu Wagon was one of the food trucks at a party my company threw. When I walked up there was literally no one in front of me which made me happy to think this would be a quick transaction. I was wrong. I placed an order for a burger with caramelized onions and cheese. Another 20 minutes later I finally had my food. I didn’t know they were making them to order, and if so they should give a head’s up. Also, for that 20 minute wait I thought the burger was just ok. Not going to be checking this one out again.

Just had Aaron cater our wedding reception. The event was outside. You should have seen the look on our guest’s faces’ when this beautiful truck drove into the backyard. Aaron was professional and even tried to help us finish setting up the party. His food was fantastic… FANTASTIC!!! Sanchez, Shrimp Tacos and Buffalo Chicken sandwiches were all great. Thanks WAGYUWAGON!!!

The Longhorn burger was absolutely amazing. Delicious Kobe beef patty for only $ 10?! Oh, yes. The beef was cooked to perfection. Dirty Sanchez was also great, but just couldn’t compare to the Longhorn. The chorizos didn’t really enhance the burger that much. Wish the fries weren’t as soggy. However, it is about the burgers, so. :)

The Longhorn burger was delicious. Reminded me of a true Texas burger, since I just moved to Chicago from there. The Chipotle Chicken taco was ok, the sauce was nice. I would eat there again, just not 2+ times a week since its around $ 10. But great beef.

I’ve tried a number of items from the Wagyu Wagon menu and think the food is delicious. People complain about the prices but the food is coming to you and since you’re not at a sit down restaurant any tip would be nominal. They are serving quality food so be willing to pay a little more people. This isn’t a traveling McDonald’s. Or don’t pay more but don’t complain about it.

I stumbled across the Wagyu Wagon while they were sitting on a little service drive for Grant Park off of Monroe. Tried the burger. The beef was quality, and had that nice buttery flavor you only seem to get from top-notch beef(for another example, check out Bad Apple’s Wagyu Wednesday, or their triple threat sliders). So the beef was great, but at $ 9 for a burger, I was hoping for the rest of the burger to live up to the standard. The bun was plain, the condiments ordinary, and the cole slaw bland. Its a shame, because the condiments for the other dishes(like the tacos, as a previous reviewer mentioned) seemed very inspired. Based on what I had, I can’t really give them high marks. Concept is there, but all the pieces don’t quite fit yet. Maybe next time I’ll get the tacos and re-evaluate.

The Wagyu Wagon is a great food truck with a variety of choices with wagyu beef. Really great juicy beef. Try the delectable wagyu tacos with your choice of red guajillo or tamatillo sauce with onions, cilantro, and avocado crème. Delish! Their bahn mi sandwich is also good that includes wagyu short ribs in a lemongrass aoli. The food by the way is cooked fresh in the truck so you may not see them in your neck of the woods in chicago until the new food truck ordinance is passed. They do however make themselves available at a variety of sanctioned events all over the city so keep a look out for them. Great find.
