Total duchebag hangout. The place was crowded with dudes many of who were well under 21. Females might or might not like the sex ratio at this place. They did not appreciate strangers to their bar and all had their hat on backwards it seemed like. The place was dirty and not real special. They have three old classic arcade games that either are broken or never plugged in the socket. The one bartender was off talking to a friend most of the night and this really seemed like a bad bar. Maybe on other nights it might be a better place but the time I went it was all wrong.

This is a great neighborhood bar! Every time I go in there, I run into someone from the neighborhood. Good for hanging out with a few friends or big groups. Fun place to watch sports. Love this place!

This sports bar is nice to go for a weekday wind down or a weekend wind up. It’s well-lit and has lots of TVs. Groups come here, but also couples can enjoy hanging out at the bar or one of the high tables. There is also a nice outdoor patio area in the summer. The other day we went by and they had a band playing. This place is pretty inexpensive and simple. There is not a bar menu, BUT if you go for a Bears game, they do a free buffet to feed hungry fans. Some neighborhood bars have no or small windows. One thing I like about the Nil is that it has big floor to ceiling windows on the street side which give it a friendly atmosphere. Check it out! Neighborhood bar… no doubt, but I wish that when I lived in the city I had a neighborhood bar like this one! Showed up to meet up with some friends on a Saturday night, KARAOKEBABY! Got there a little after 10 and it was moderately full, but seemed like someone dropped off a busload of locals about 11 or so because the door kept opening and it got packed really quick! Weird though, I’ve been to many packed bars in my time and was surprised that it was SO packed around the bar when there was plenty of room to spread out better, seems the locals only like being a few steps from the actualy bar to belly up faster or something… that was more of an annoyance than anything because the bathrooms are at the back, just passed the bar, and we had to walk around the dense group to get there… whatever. Bartender service… well, because of the fact that the crowd drinks and socializes right in front of the bar itself, it was a bit difficult to get up to the bar to get the drink order and the drinks. Yes, I’ll pop in again… Jonny Fah, my friend and great karaōke host, does a show here and as long as I can karaōke, I’m there!

Great local bar walking distance from my house. Good spot to watch sports and drink cheaply.

Came here with some friends who pretty much demanded we check the place out. Wednesday seems to be the day to go because it’s relatively dead, they open the door windows during the summer, and bud/miller beers are $ 1 each. It’s a pretty awesome deal if you’re into cheap beer. I also had a sip of this one guys cider which turned out to be REALLY tasty even though it was more expensive than a dollar. I think he said it was $ 3 or $ 4. The bartender is a chill guy. Not chill in the way that you’d want to carry on a conversation with the guy. In fact he’s pretty quiet. But pours your beer to the brim. A whiskey sour was in a tall glass, not a lot of whiskey in it though. Four dollars for that. I’ll probably come again to join my buds for the chill atmosphere and cheep beer.

great neighborhood bar — you get a mixture of the oldies and the newly 21’s…but thats ok. Major upgrades gives this place more room, more space to move and sit… the large windows are pretty cool, plus there’s enough fancy flat screens all over to watch just about any and every game you need. the bartenders and the same awesome ladies from years past, including the owner. plus who doesnt love a guy in a hawaiian shirt??? great place to meet out and hang for a night, exceptional drink prices… they dont offer food but you can order food from next door — and they’ll even call you a cab if need be(its your best option, cabs dont come rolling by often). Starting to have The Kingfish there more often(a great local band playing no an «off-night» for them) which only makes the night better. how can you beat a great atmosphere and good cheap drinks???

For a neighborhood joint — this place can’t be beat. Compared to what it used to be the owners have really done a stellar job. Love the big windows that open to the street. Tons of TVs and sports, sports, sports. Only downside is no food — but you can order take out from Pier 5736 next door. And that food is good, or order a pizza. Linda, the bartender/owner is GREAT at hosting parties at the bar. Good prices, cold beer, sports on all TV’s, nice crowd — gotta check it out!
