Breakfast only review. Sooo amazingly delicious. Everything is well made and fesh. The carmel apple crepes tastes just like a carmel apple. So amazing. The French toast is thick, sweet and delicious. The sausage, bacon and eggs were all very fresh to taste and quality.

We have eaten here several times over the last year, and have had nothing but good experiences. The service is efficient and friendly, and the food is solidly good. Up until today, we had only tried the BBQ, but today I was in the mood for a breakfast. I had the Pit Stop Skillet and it was excellent. We highly recommend.

We ordered their breakfast combo that comes with«2 waffles.» What we got equalled half of a whole Belgian waffle, 2 little triangles. Really disappointing. They just lost 2 customers.

Horrible. Worse BBQ ever. The rib tips were half the size of your pinky finger and so thin you could almost see thru them. No smoke, no flavor and the sauce was awful. The links for $ 3.00 gave you 4 small pieces when put together is the size of your middle finger. Waffle fries the only thing one can eat. So much for Mexican BBQ. No pit even on the premises. I bought a groupon and decided to check out a new breakfast spot out in the city. I loved it! Its not a fancy restaurant but it is very cozy. I loved everything about my experience here from beginning to end ! The waitress was very friendly, welcoming, and just plain GREAT! The coffee was different with a touch of cinnamon which gave it it’s unique taste. I ordered the red chilaquiles with steak. I am Mexican and let me tell you these were some of the best chilaquiles I have every had. The salsa was not too spicy and had a great flavor and the tortillas were nice and crispy and not muchy. My boyfriend had the Mexican skillet and that was also a great option! We also had the chance to fit in some french toast and yes, as you can guess, they were great! I look forward to going back!

I stand by my prior comment. That said, I went in last Saturday to try their breakfast. Great skillets, very hefty portions and great ingredients. I would say this place is good for a post-drinking all night breakfast session. Check it out.

Urgh. Its Fat Tuesday and I wanted some gumbo and I also love smoked BBQ so it was a perfect reason to order from them on grubhub. I read up on Unilocal and had reservations about the mixed reviews on the brisket but decided to take a chance to find out myself. Put it this way, it was cut really thin and so rubbery that you need a knife to eat it! It came doused in bbq sauce to try to mask the dryness and the blandness. These are all red flags. I am not convinced that it even spent any amount of time in a smoker. This was not an off day — it is an intentional and procedural way to prepare the lousy food. The gumbo was ok, no complaints considering it isn’t really a cajun restaurant. I am a sucker for real bbq and considering options are limited in Chicago I thought about ordering pulled pork or something in the future based on some of the reviews until I found my cornbread and took a bite. I literally spit it out. They are now on my do not order from list. My advice to them is to remove brisket from the menu and for the chef’s to at least try the cornbread after you cook a batch. Especially if they include it with every entrée. Rub’s Backcountry Smokehouse used to suck too but they finally found a passion for smoked bbq and turned it around. Hopefully this place will get their act together as well someday. Until then, take a pass on The Last Arm Pit Stop!

This is a great place to grab some breakfast! I had walked by this place a couple times before, and I had thought of it as primarily a place to grab BBQ, but today my wife and I went in for breakfast – and it was delicious! My wife ordered the breakfast burrito, and I ordered the garden skillet. Everything was fresh, had a great combination of flavors, and was cooked perfectly. We also had great service! We will definitely be back again soon!

Great breakfast food! Give it a second chance for breakfast. I have been here for breakfast three times in the last few weeks. I’ve had the feta and spinach scrambled eggs, which come with potatoes and toast or pancakes. And the chilaquiles. But were great! Their green sauce on the chilaquiles is extra spicy and out of this world. The Eggs with feta and spinach were tasty and the potatoes were perfectly crispy. The coffee with cinnamon is heavenly. I also tried the tortilla soup which was very flavorful and definitely tastier than I’ve had elsewhere in the neighborhood. As others have commented, their bbq is a bit of a let down, and definitely overpriced compared to some much better(and cheaper) bbq places in the area. I went here a few times for lunch and dinner when they first opened and was sorely disappointed. I saw that they expanded to breakfast, and when Dolce Casa closed and Over Easy went on their extended winter hiatus, this was the only option nearby. So I decided to give it a second go. I was pleasantly surprised. I saw that they are now also offering«Mexican Specialties». Interesting to see how they will do with that, considering Erik’s Tacos is cheap and cheerful across the street. But I am glad they are expanding their menu. I think they didn’t succeed at BBQ, but hopefully are finding their niche in other areas. I just think they might want to change their name.

Upping this rating with another star since, yes, we did come back here for take-out after the initial disappointing experience, and the food has definitely improved. The menu has also been expanded and they now serve brunch as well, which I am looking forward to trying. I’m still not entirely convinced this is a bona fide quality BBQ joint, but it’s good enough for a lazy weeknight take-out.

I’m willing to be on board with just about any place that offers a big-honking BBQ Turkey Leg on the menu. This is no exception. Can’t speak to anything else. Got take-out on a Thursday night, no problems. Sweet Potato fries were oily, but in a good way. Turkey Leg had just the right amount of seasoning and was just greasy enough to be enjoyable without being heavy. Good cornbread too.

Can’t speak to the in-house experience as we ordered delivery, but I’d be down to dine-in sometime! We had the pulled pork with sweet potato fries, a pulled pork sandwich with waffle fries, and the taffy apple French toast. The pulled pork was mediocre in my opinion — the meat just wasn’t falling-apart tender, which is absolutely crucial for BBQ. Both varieties of fries were tasty though(even though I don’t usually like sweet potato fries). The taffy apple French toast was the unexpected winner of the day — it’s incredibly rich with a cream cheese filling, but actually isn’t too sweet or overpowering. We wolfed this down — it was totally delicious and I’d go back just for that. Apple slices on top and I can only imagine how decadent this dish would be if you put a pat of butter on it, the way I usually eat my French toast.

My husband and I just moved to the neighborhood. We come from Roscoe Village where there is a plethora of breakfast places. As such, it is very important to us that we find a solid breakfast establishment. For us, that is Last Pit Stop BBQ. Now I imagine that you’re thinking, what?! A BBQ place as a go-to breakfast place? Oh yes. They have some delicious French toast options. But what is really amazing Is their chilaquiles. For real. Their tortilla chips are amazing– we’re not talking tositos. I think they’re homemade. You have the option for red or green salsa. I would recommend the red. Truly, I think these are the best chilaquiles I have ever had. Their Lunch and dinner options are also delicious. Im vegetarian so I can’t comment first hand, but people I have been with have liked their BBQ and their burgers. I personally have had great success with their salads. In particular, I liked the strawberry chicken salad(I picked off the chicken). All in all, this place has been a great find! I definitely recommend!

Expect bland food at unwarranted prices and terrible service. I’ve been here twice and both times have taken ages to receive our food, no empty drinks being checked up on, and a decade passing before you receive the bill. Amplify wait times by 5x if the restaurant is filled with family members of the staff. You’ll be able to tell by a booth or two being occupied by small children on laptops and iPads and running around hitting your table.

Service was fine. Came in after work and no one else was there. Ordered: — half grilled chicken and half rib tips w/sauce on the side — too much sauce and texture tastes like it has been boiled prior. 1 star. Good call on asking them to put sauce on side for grilled chicken; still, chicken was charred great but inside was very dry(even the dark meat) and needed salting/no taste. 1.5 stars –mashed potatoes – great sauce 4.5 stars –cornbread — very dry. 1 star — mushroom soup — really good creamy soup. 4.5 stars

Well– I had the brisket and it was bomb diggity AWESOME. It was almost melt in your mouth tender and the sauce is yummy(not overly slathered and just right). My boyfriend and I stopped in on a whim(or it was really the scent that pulled us in!). The atmosphere is friendly, lighting is great– family opperated and welcoming. Easy to feel comfortable and relaxed. DO «over order and over eat» get the meal and add the baked beans(you won’t be sorry!) — corn bread is delicious as are the waffle fries. Perfectly paired with my black cherry soda(place is BYOB if you want something harder). We are definitely going back. Also! Ask for dessert! We were stuffed but we ate every last bit of the cappacino cheesecake. Tie all that up with great friendly service — the kind that is helpfully there but not intereupting your meal at all.

If this was the last stop for barbecue, then you need to turn around! I spent somewhere in the neighborhood of forty bucks on a bunch of food and I wasn’t impressed. Had high hopes that were crushed. When I think about barbecue, I often have these vivid tastes and food porn views in mind. But then reality sets in and it doesn’t, quite, live up. If you like Chicago-type-barbecue. you may like it. Chicago barbecue like the stuff often served up at char restaurants and is grossly«over-sauced» like it’s been marinating for weeks in sauce. I don’t think they make their own sauce, I would guess it’s poured out of a vat or drum. If ordering take out or seeing the chef’s plating skills, it’s quite apparent that he’s spent time working in some of the most elite of hotels. When eating at a hotel, how often is it that you’re wowed to the point of wanting to return, merely to visit the restaurant that did the hotels catering? With barbecue I want to see something specific to the talent of the chef. What flavors are they trying to get across. Is it smoked, boiled, grilled or what? Wood chips, gas or what? Wet marinade or is it about the dry rub? Serving pretty food with ample plating skills isn’t going to do it. Side note: Their mac and cheese was decent.

Very disappointed!!! We ordered a brisket sandwich which wasn’t truly brisket. Thin slices of deli meat perhaps. Coleslaw had no flavor. Most upsetting was the flavorless Mac n cheese which tasted like it came from a box. I’m just speechless that everything was so below par for a bbq joint. My husband so disgusted by the brisket he can’t even finish it. Waste of money, seriously. And I notice a lot of people complaining about same thing and don’t understand why the management won’t improve these things.

Boy, this place sure has some early mixed reviews. As much as I love having a barbecue place(finally) within walking distance of home, I have to fall on the thumbs down side of the fence. The food just is not up to par. Plus, there are a few little things that bug me. For example, the menu does not mention that a sandwich comes with fries and cole slaw, so you may find yourself(the first time at least) ordering too much food. Which is a shame, because when barbecue is tasty, there should be no such thing as too much. In their case, I’d say that the rib tips and pulled chicken are decent, the brisket is poor, and the pulled pork is dreadful. Somehow the meats are simultaneously greasy and dry. The fries and slaw are forgettable, which is pretty common but still disappointing. Sweet potato fries are no better. Fried okra is okay. Their worst offense is dousing the meat with sauce that probably comes from a 50-gallon drum. A cardinal rule of barbecue is to allow the meats to speak for themselves and let the customers sauce their own food. I can detect no evidence of smoking, but underneath all that sauce who knows. That offense is pretty unforgivable in my barbecue book. And to boot it makes the sandwiches impossible to pick up and eat with one’s hands. I hope that they succeed but I can’t say that I will be a regular customer despite their proximity and low prices.
