I tried to place an order for the following morning pick up for 20 sandwiches so I didn’t overwhelm them standing in line to order. I spoke with Lizzie and she told me that they were all«booked» up with catering orders. I asked if I go and stand in line and order them wouldn’t that be more difficult for them. The long and short is she turned down my business and wasn’t willing to even offer me a better time to pick up the sandwiches. POOR customer service!!!

Tasty breakfast sandwich. Got the Scratch Biscuit with sausage egg and cheese… so good! Very quick and friendly service. Going to have to come back in the afternoon for a coffee and one of the bacon ginger snap cookies!

I really enjoyed the yogurt parfait and scratch biscuit slider! Love the atmosphere, all the staff was super friendly and the music was fun, good way to energize my morning. Go for the food stay for the music and get some work done.

I pass by The Eastman everyday but this is my first stop in. The guy at the counter was very helpful in answering my questions. I ordered the scratch biscuit — sausage(housemade) egg cheese. The sandwich was delicious, and messy. I ate at the restaurant since I was really early for work. I love their Pomegranate Green tea as well. They use loose tea leaves. Perfection. I gave 4 stars because the sandwich was very hard to eat because the biscuit fell apart. Very tasty breakfast sandwich.

I could care less if it takes less than a week from farm to brown bag, it could take a month for all I care as long as it’s a good value proposition and tasty. Eastman egg offers neither. I’ve tried two sandwiches, the captain and the Eastman. Captain is just plain sausage, egg and jack cheese. Every component sucked. The sausage was flavorless and dry. There were no savory or spicy notes to speak of. The eggs were dry and could have used some salt. The Jack was the most flavorless cheese I ever tasted. Was this low fat? What’s the point of it even being there? Waste of calories. All around the sandwich was dry and could have used something else to kick it up. I shouldn’t want to put jelly on a $ 6 egg sandwich. The Eastman was slightly better but the components still didn’t live up to the $ 8 price tag which I find unacceptable. There were some sandwiches that bordered on $ 10 which I can’t even comprehend. Are people really willing to pay $ 10 – 14 on breakfast every morning on fast food eggs? I’m ashamed at the fact they got 2 meals out of me.

I am a sucker for a good breakfast sandwich so, clearly, I love me some Eastman Egg Company!!! They use quality ingredients and sandwiches are fresh to order. The Scoundrel is hands down my favorite regular sandwich. The Dijon mustard is a nice surprise, the turkey is juicy, and the pretzel roll is so yummy and substantial enough to act as the perfect device to transport morning deliciousness to your mouth hole! The staff is super friendly too! Great stop for commuters too. I have been to both locations and the food truck. Same quality sammies across the board. And I highly recommend paying attention to their specials!

Wow. That is the only word that can explain the amazingness of the Scoundrel I like to think of my self as a breakfast sandwich connoisseur and I must say this was the greatest breakfast sandwich known to man kind. Stella was our cashier and she was great. We’ve never been to Eastman Egg Company and she went over the menu with passion, like she actually loved where she worked. Love the place. Just build one in Downtown Naperville and I will be a regular.

I am updating my previous review. Like I said in my original review, I really want to like Eastman Egg Company. They have done a few things to win my business over. First and foremost, I have tried a few more of their sandwiches and they have really upped their game. Last month they had a special scratch biscuit sandwich which was fantastic. Second, they have worked on their pricing. They now offer a «special» in the morning which gets you out the door with a sandwich and coffee for just under $ 6. That is much more in the acceptable range for breakfast. I’ve updated my review to 4 stars and will keep on coming to EEC.

I really wanted to like this place, but everything is just kinda bland. Coffee was awful, tasted burnt, and threw it out after a couple of sips. Egg sandwiches are pricey and too trendy. What happened to keeping it basic with egg, cheese, and meat on a ciabatta roll. Just never can find anything here to want me to come back.

First the good — the food is delicious. I eat here often. Now the bad: — it is expensive. An egg sandwich and coffee drink set me back over $ 14. That is silly. — service can be spotty, but is generally ok. — lack of flexibility. This morning I asked for a «special» posted at the door, a small egg sandwich and a medium coffee. I asked for the coffee to be iced, which typically does cost more than a regular coffee. The answer was no, and they would not upcharge me the difference in the coffee price because the special was set in stone. Frustrating, especially since I am probably one of the more regular customers. But I said fine I’ll take the regular special … and of course I got rung up for a breakfast sandwich and an iced coffee at regular full prices. So my «special» turned out to be a full-priced expensive breakfast. I should have complained on the spot, my bad, but I just wanted to get my day started without extra drama. I’m not writing this place off yet, just expressing some frustration and hoping they listen to some of these criticisms. Again, the food is good and these are the types of businesses I would like to see succeed.

Damn you, Eastman Egg Company! I now know what I am missing! You lured me in with your $ 5.99 egg slider and coffee sign. While tiny(as sliders typically are), the snack was a delicious tease! Coffee was also good. Yes, you are pricey but the quality was spot on. Also décor is nice and I overheard you giving a free wifi code to a patron. I think I would need to spend twice as much to be full here but if I want to relax, have satisfying food and send a few emails before I get to the office, this is a great spot.

I thought this place was good, I’ve tried two things on two occasions. First, I had the Rookie slider, which was really good and I loved the salsa verde on it. Ciabatta was good and the eggs definitely tasted freshly made. Second, and a little more disappointing, was I had the Turkey Cuban. I love Slagel farms products but there were a few issues. First the bread they use was good and the pickles are great. The problem is the way the sandwich is constructed. I got mine and when I went to eat it the mustard used was coming through the bread, since there wasn’t a cheese or something barrier on that side of the sandwich. By the time I got halfway through the sandwich started to fall apart. Second issue was the pricing, as others have noted. $ 9.75 for just the sandwich is a lot. I understand the high quality products used cost more, but by the time I got a drink and side(from another establishment) it was almost $ 15 for lunch. I might go back for the slider every now and then but I might have to leave it that. They do provide great service.

Tasty food but just an ok value proposition overall. I tried The Captain(egg, pepperjack, sausage, pretzel roll) and a small coffee. I’m not sure if they’ve altered their prices, but this only came to $ 6.62? The board had the sandwich at $ 6 and the coffee at $ 2.79. My lucky day I suppose. Solid sandwich, but definitely on the smaller side. Good coffee, but all in all it wasn’t enough food.

Best egg sandwiches I’ve ever eaten hands-down. Eastman sources all of their meat, cheese, and eggs from local sustainable farms and they put considerable care into their recipes. The namesake sandwich is my favorite. I was surprised to see some negative reviews on here, until I read them. This is not McDonald’s. And you absolutely get what you pay for. I would eat here every day if I could!

Over priced for that size. Small sandwiches with just enough ingredients to fill the bread.

Prime location! Good egg sandwich! Kind of pricey! The Doc, which is your bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with farm-fresh ingredients, was the one thing I wanted to get here. It’s roughly twice as expensive as my standard issue from McDonald’s, but also roughly twice as large(area-wise), so… hey, it nets out to me. This sandwich does not screw around. The bun was tender and flaky, although served lukewarm. With eggs being so freaking expensive right now, I wasn’t surprised to see a single folded, scrambled egg, but it was very well seasoned with salt and pepper. Inside was a thick slice of white cheddar cheese, and on top of that was a whole lot of bacon. I think it’s the bacon that breaks the bank for the sandwich, because it was really, really good. Clean flavor. My only suggestion is that it should be served crispier than it was. In the end it’s an almost-great egg sandwich, which works for me for $ 7, but I’ll probably try something with more ingredients next. But I’m impressed by what I’ve had so far. And one of these days, I’ll just get the $ 4 iced coffee on its own.

Just opened in Ogilvie and I was excited to try… and support a new restaurant. I love the idea of farm-fresh ingredients. That’s probably what drew me there. There was absolutely no wait to order my food. Just some egg and 2 pieces of bacon was over $ 7. I thought it was a lot, but so be it. The problem I had was that with six people working in the kitchen alone(they had soooo much staff there), it still took over 10 minutes to get my food. I would have hoped, with a griddle going, that it would be real scrambled eggs instead of an egg square, with two delicious but soggy pieces of bacon and the entire thing was extremely greasy. I wasn’t impressed and won’t be back anytime soon unfortunately. I really wanted to like it!

Sometimes I think I’m an old grouchy soul living in a mid-20-something’s body. I’m all for the expensive steak houses — will take good friends for their birthdays; the romantic restaurants are best with my hubby; tony seafood restaurants with fresh seafood & fish are fantastic; the eclectic & fusion cafes are the best. However, I don’t want to be ripped off for a silly sandwich or a bit-of-breakfast — on the go and that’s what The Eastman Egg Co. does fantastically well! So, for $ 7 bucks w/o tax, tip or coffee/cappuccino/espresso/juice(or water for that matter), I got a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich. Big whoop! That’s the ingredients of: 1 egg, a small bit of bacon, a small amount of cheddar on ciabatta. Nothing remotely notable and certainly not better than a Starbucks breakfast sandwich for a few dollars less and a good ‘ol bacon egg and cheese at the MickeyD’s, is less than ½ the price of this sandwich, and tastes just as good, if not better. Being ripped off never tastes great anyways! Unless a place is going to do a ho hum breakfast sandwich spectacularly well, and with great style and a lot of extras that no one else does, they ought to stay away from the Chicago market. In Ogilvie alone, l can count 6 places that make a nice breakfast sandwich and none charge as much as this place. The competition is fierce… and I just don’t get it. I normally don’t take Metra to Ogilvie, but have lately. In the last 2 months, I never saw samples from this place, either. When I went in yesterday, the line wasn’t long at 7:22 a.m., and everyone had to pay for their food. Even free, I would have seen the menu clearly and never came back. It’s just not that great and it’s not that good, either.

A new dining option —- in Ogilvie. Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray. This place is a welcomed addition. So much so that I had been eyeing it each time I would pass with a plan to check it out once it opened. Well, September 16th was the highly anticipated opening day. And I made a beeline to join the fray for a taste. Once in line, I was surprised to learn every menu item was being offered free of charge. EVERYTHING. While I could not believe it, I should have presumed the long line was a clear indicator that something was being given away. While waiting to place my order, a gentleman handed me a paper menu to peruse. He also mentioned the board inside the store(the line was curved outside) noted the sold out items. He then offered to field questions about available items. When I expressed an interest in trying the turkey Cuban, he noted there was no French bread today so Ciabatta was being used instead. I initially planned to try the food on a different day but decided to try it anyway and possibly order it in a bowl(no bread) as that was an option too. Once I was in close proximity to the register, I was excited that the wait to order was near over. When it was my turn, I ordered the turkey Cuban and a bag of salt and vinegar chips. While I should have gone bread less, I ordered the sandwich on 7 grain instead. While I believed the worst was behind me, we were told the order would be ready in TWENTYMINUTES. That said I bet you could imagine the excitement when I finally received the order. I enjoyed my sandwich and chips. Both were very tasty and I will without question circle back for a breakfast sandwich or lunch sandwich when in the building. I have no qualms paying $ 8 for the sandwich and found the size to be perfect given the other sandwich options in the vicinity. Given the time investment, I would say this meal was not really free. Especially knowing Eastman Egg has earned a sizable group of devoted patrons solely from allowing us to sample the goods. And I am happy to be included in the number of taste testers turned fans.

So it was preview day at Eastman and I’ll couldn’t resist. They’ll be opening soon. I probably should eat at an egg place since I have an egg intolerance, but they do have a few non-egg options so I checked it out. I had the Turkey Cuban which was tiny for the price. I’m not a huge eater, but my 120 lbs needed an afternoon snack after combining this with a fruit salad for lunch. The fruit salad was super simple just chopped up pineapple, blueberries, raspberries – not even mixed together. Not bad but not worth $ 4. My colleague had a «bowl» which is just the sandwich without the bread. She was disappointed, it needs a filler to make it work. As my coworker put it, it’s a decent sandwich but I could like 4 egg mcmuffins for the price and I’ll would probably need that many of Eastmans sandwiches to fill up. So it’s probably more of a breakfast place for me, but at these prices it would be an expensive one.
