The entire show was a train wreck. Omg, it was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. I hate to say it because I know these girls are trying their best but this cannot be considered real burlesque. There was only one girl who seemed legit, it was actually quite jarring because she just didn’t match with the rest of the amateur ensemble. Anyway, I feel like this should be pitched as a comedy show because it’s so bad that it’s good. The host was hilarious but she was out of her mind drunk. She sipped from a giant martini glass the entire night. One funny moment was when a dancer wearing some 6 inch heeled gothic boots fell on her a** just as she was done with her dance. *Cue audience gasp* She almost fell about 3 separate times throughout the performance… why wear something you are not in control of? Well, let me not dwell on the poor girl. Suffice it to say she was the butt of a few jokes by our drunk hostess after that. But the most memorable moment of the night was when an ex dancer did her own set. All we were told is that it was her birthday. Out came out a very large women covered in balloons. I won’t give away too many details but I will say there was ballon popping, strobe lighting, twerking, and cake smearing. So I’ve given a star for the host, a star for the one professional dancer, and a star for the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I’d ever go again but I did laugh a lot and can’t say I regret the experience.

This was the worst burlesque show I’ve been to., girls are horrible with no burlesque bodies at all, it was very boring and the magician and cowboy singer were just really horrendous. It was $ 15 to get in, but I guess you get what you paid for(idk why the reviews say it’s best Chicago show in town?) please do not bring any friends here visiting Chicago and specially tell them this is the best burlesque show. No my wife and I wouldn’t ever go back

I used to go see this show all the time when it was at the Playground and recently got a chance to catch it at their new venue at Theater Wit. It’s still just as fun and flirty as I remembered it to be, with some definite upgrades. Their new host, MsPixy, is engaging and silly; she keeps the energy up and can switch from joking to sexy on a dime. The Bombshells perform unique and sexy striptease acts in a variety of styles — the night I came I got to see Slightly Spitfire deliver a serious acrobatic piece, Hazel Hellbender serve brat pack Frank Sinatra realness and Naughty Natanya perform a classic burlesque gown striptease to Nina Simone. The comedians and singers are hokey and bawdy, but in the best tradition of old school vaudeville. The lineup changes from show to show, so you’re definitely going to see something different every time. Will definitely go back and check them out again. Also, the venue has a bar and lobby area — definite upgrades from their old space on Halsted.

This show is fun. The host is witty and the acts are sexy, funny, and everything else you’d want in a dynamic burlesque act. The girls approach the art with humor and seeing beauties in different shapes and sizes was refreshing. Given that the ladies perform on a stage set up by other productions, you get the raw art form where you can focus on their talent as opposed to shiny backgrounds. This show is real, and speaking as a woman, empowering. Can’t wait for their next show. Great job ladies(and gents).

this show delivers fun and spunky dancing ladies that take off(some) of their clothing all in one. while its not the highest production value [read: semi-amateur feel] burlesque — for 10 $ you get an hour of good entertainment. the jokes are plentiful and often bawdy. the ladies energetic. definitely maximize on the byob :)

This is a really fun and easily enjoyable burlesque show! You will get the side of burlesque that is easy breezy, classic, cute, and a little cheesy. No «egg-laying» tricks *ifyouknowwhatImean*. It’s a fun date night b/c it’s only $ 10 and it’s BYOB! I really feel like BBR shows explore that side of sexiness that is fun & playful and makes you feel good. You’re not necessarily going to be squirming in your seat & sweating. Also, it’s funny as hell! The MCs are great and always keep the show flowing and the audience laughing. Tomas, a hilariously nerdy magician, is a riot. Audience members feel like they are a part of the show. If you like your boobs w/plenty of camp, go see a BBR show!

I have been bad about writing my reviews. I got busy! Sorry! I came here for the first time for my 30th birthday in November. We had about 15 people which wound up being a good thing. The large groups get seated first and we wound up with our very own row. First off the tickets are $ 10 per person. So it’s an easy option for a celebration– everyone can afford $ 10. AND it’s BYOB! Seriously… $ 10 a person ANDBYOB! You can bring anything you want. Beer, wine, vodka… whatever makes you happy. But don’t forget cork screws and cups. They provide none of that for you. The theater is pretty small which means there is no bad seat, but it also means you’d better buy tickets ahead of time if you want to make sure you get a seat. The show itself is really casual, and they encourage audience participation. I especially loved that the whole place sang happy birthday to me. The show we saw was food themed and it was hilarious. My friends were still humming the songs, especially the Peach song, days later! The acts were creative, funny and spicy. I had an AWESOME time and I would def return!

My favorite Burlesque show in Chicago. I have seen the show several times and it has never left me less than blissfully inebriated and entertained. Here is what you can expect A singing MC will serenade you with dulcet tones. Ask to hear the sheep joke. Second cousin Joe is hilarious. Group dance numbers that will excite you with color and beauty. Wait till you see the Fruit hats for their Jump in the Line(yes the song from Beatlejuce) number. Tomas the magician will blow your f’n mind. Just wait till you see the balloon trick. Many lovely ladies will remove their incredible costumes to reveal their even sexier underthings. Look em up on Facebook. These are some hot gals. They have some of the best underground comedians in Chicago. Best of all it is a fun loving BYOB establishment and the show is a damn good time. Perfect date show. Be warned you should get a reservation. They almost always sell out. Parking — there is limited street parking but they are a 10 min walk from the Belmont el stop. There is also a pay lot nearly across the street if you need to drive.

I’ve seen a lot of burlesque in Chicago, a lot of it in bars, where the girls are dancing on a tiny stage, and while it’s fun, there isn’t a whole lot more to it than that. The Belmont Burlesque Revue is different, because it’s a full show. They pack a ton of entertainment into an hour of singing, dancing, magic, comedy, and of course, striptease. I’ve been a couple of times, and it’s been a different show every time, with a regular cast but different numbers and different guests. The vibe is more playful than sultry, although there are definitely sexy moments. I’ve felt comfortable here with a mixed group of friends and I’ve seen people on dates who look like they’re having fun. By the time the dancers close with a high energy Carmen Miranda tribute(with fruit hats!) you’re definitely going to leave smiling. A word about the theater. It’s pretty bare bones – the Playground is an improv theater, so it’s not much more than a black box. There’s no lobby and only four rows of seats, so it’s very intimate. I like being so close to the action, though, and the theater is BYOB(and my group took full advantage!) so it definitely has its up side too. BYOB plus a ten dollar ticket means a whole lot of entertainment for not much money. Plus, did I mention the fruit hats?

I saw the Belmost Burlesque show for the first time on Sat. Absolutely amazing! The show was awesome — the women were tasteful and the in between acts were hilarious. Grab your girlfriends and go! Definitely a great way to spend an evening!

BELMONTBURLESQUE is a blast. For $ 10, you can take in an hour of burley routines that are, overall, really, really fun stuff. Hosted by a semi-lush John Goodman-esque front man who sings and schvitzes out tunes, along with his not-too-slick cousin in overalls, they interact with the audience and introduce girls who’ve happily dropped out of 1950. Babes of every body type and a gorilla: what more could a Bettie Page fan want? Add the Amazing Tomas for some slight-of-hand and quick banter, toss in some tassels and bring your own booze for a few laughs and a lot of heart. for anyone hip enough to know the difference between strippers and striptease, well, no explanation is needed. Parking is crappy at best, so plan ahead. The place(Playground Theatre) is four rows of 14 or so each, so you’d better be there early or with reservations. On our night there, Michelle«America’s Got Talent» L’amour did her fan dance. Lots of tease, and a few toasts with the toasted boss: what’s not to like? Really recommended.
