My significant other is on the board for SGT, so I guess one might think I’m biased. But this is really a superb company that, despite their size and low profile, produces some stunning work.
I started my subscription last year and continued this year, and have not been disappointed. Glass Menagerie was a great production; while the added visuals (projections of quotes and stuff) wasn’t my cup of tea, but the lead was fantastic.
I love that they perform at the Greenhouse; I really like this intimate space. The actors and management of Shattered Globe are all kind, enthusiastic and passionate about producing great productions to share with as many people as they can. I hope that more people will take in their shows, and I’m sure they’ll be pleased to find this gem in the Chicago theater scene.

Shattered Globe theater has been around for years (since 1991) and has produced some of the best productions in Chicago. They are currently located in residency at the Victory Gardens Greenhouse theater. The smaller venue lends itself well to the honest and intimate performances of the actors. Their current production «The Glass Menagerie» is top notch and features Linda Reiter, one of Chicago’s best actors.
If you’re from out of town and looking to experience the «Chicago Theater scene», or you live in Chicago and can’t afford the higher priced tickets of the major Chicago Theaters (Goodman, Steppenwolf. Shakespeare Rep) I highly recommend checking out a Shattered Globe production. They consistently do great work.
