How sad am I! This used to be one of my go-to places for good, cheap Mexican but no more! They must be under new ownership– I hadn’t been there for a while– and the food I received tonight was NOTHING like it used to be. Different, tasteless cheese, flabby tortillas, sparse tomatoes… I ordered a combination plate but couldn’t get more than halfway through the taco– it was that bad! The beans were watery and the rice tasted like it had ketchup in it! Gah! I will mourn my lost TBK forever.

No need to eat here no matter how desperate you are. Go down the street for real, flavored meat.

Convenient location to our church, this TBK has been pretty consistent with it’s quality. The dining area is standard for this regional chain, as is the overall service. They have messed up a couple times on take out orders, but made things right each time. Good food at a fair price.

Well, I’m only giving it 2 stars because, well, that’s all it really deserves. But, the chips and salsa were very good if that’s any consolation. This is my 3rd time going, and the food quality was decent at best. So, the 1st time I went, it was really late, like 1am. My burrito was great. In hindsight, alcohol may have contributed to the good taste. I went a 2nd time and ordered steak instead of chicken. What a mistake. The meat was chewy and had lots of gristle, which was icky. Basically, I would not make a special stop just to eat here. Taco Bell is probably a better option. The Horchata was good, but I can get those anywhere. The food quality is too inconsistent for me to want to go back. Sorry TBK. You need to step up your game, or you’re going to start losing customers. I feel sort of bad only giving it 2 stars, but I feel equally bad for not enjoying my meal the way I was told I would. On a positive note, the lady who works the register is super nice. Unfortunately, she doesn’t cook the food…

Not the same place as it used to be the quality of the food went down dramatically. This place used to have the best burrito in town. Now it has no taste

OMFG… Perfect burrito. Need I say… American burrito? Thoroughly enjoyable from end to end. The most important part of this review is what I saw while it was being made. I actually commented to the cook and manager about it. The floor was spotless. The griddle was spotless and well maintained. The place had no smell No grease trap smell. No sewer smell. No hours of cooking smudge smell(like so many other places). This told me that these guys had their act together. And they were cooking my food in this immaculate kitchen. I watched the line cook work his two spatulas like I used to when I was a line cook at Denny’s decades ago. With a precision of a skilled craftsman. Fast, accurate and styled. After many years of my life working on a cook line, watching this guy in this well maintained kitchen gave me such excitement to eat their food. This is a rare thing for me. Blew me away in eveyr aspect for a burrito/taco place. Service, cleanliness and product were perfect for a walk up counter business. Of course its not Maya Del Sol. But I have to imagine if they had a dining room like that and servers, they could compete. Check out my other reviews. I’m never this nice. This is a sweet place that deserves business. Eat on.

Idk if it’s TBK in general but it’s horrible food. Not real Mexican food. I live enchiladas and every time they’re super dry. Meat tastes old all the time. However I always get great service and it’s pretty clean. When I’ve had to use the bathroom, it’s always been clean thankfully. I recommend El Gordo instead. Just down the street on Belmont.

This was by far the WORST experience I have ever had. When you eat it on a good day, it tastes delicious. Every time you come you don’t know if the food is going to taste bad or good, because it’s so inconsistent, but this was just ridiculous. The steak burrito I ordered had mostly fat in it and the tortilla was all dried up ripping apart because they obviously used old food. The chicken quesadilla they made was horrible. Normally it’s all ooey gooey and delicious, but this had very little cheese and they just threw dried up chicken on top, not even melted together. Oh, and there was a hair in it! Disgusting. Highly disappointed from a regular because they used all old food and seemed all hungover. Never again, this place is just getting worse and worse.

This particular tbk is decent for 2 am, soak up the liquor with grease food. But the smell in the dining area kind of reminds me of my old high school locker room… It’s just kind of gross unless you are too drunk to care. In a pinch… It will do

I’ve only been here once and that was out of desperation for a burrito. I asked for a steak burrito and I expected some steak chunks similar to Chipotle. Well its more like greasy ground beef. It was also precooked. I have no clue if anything else is better but don’t go with steak. Ask for chicken instead. Maybe? On the plus side its large portions.

I’ve now had their burritos, nachos, and cheese fries. Friends picked some up to bring over on my first trip and the second time we ate there. I haven’t been impressed with any of it and all it really gave me was heart burn and a sour stomach. They use that neon yellow cheese on their nachos and fries… eww. Their portions are huge, so I can see why the drunk late night crowd likes them. However, this isn’t authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex…as a born and bred Texan I should know.

One star deducted: the cashier was pretty(that is about it)…no change!!! Poor cooks had to exchange change from their own pockets Two stars deducted: pretty cashier got everyone’s order messed up. There was a young mother w her two kids who were already waiting for their orders before another couple and me and my hubby came in. WHY did the couple ahead of me get their orders before the poor mom and her 2 kids?! If the mom didn’t approach the counter, she never would have gotten their food(the pretty cashier totally forgot about her order) Three stars: we waited for over 20 mins for our order. Crazy for fast good! I learned my lesson. I will stick to harlem and belmon’t tbk. Tsk tsk tsk on me.

Not going to eat steak meat that has the same quality as my dogs ALPO canned dog food. Even if I was drunk and starving I would pass this crap hole up!

I have never been disappointed leaving hungry. I even have extra when I take home. They have a friendly waitstaff who don’t take all day to serve your food. I applaud them most importantly for keeping the establishment well maintained and clean! Check out my Video. «Single Mom rocks at storytelling!» on Youtube. .

The food is barely edible! The meat used was reheated and burnt. VERYGREASYANDVERYLITTLEFLAVOR. The tamales were all masa and just a hint of meat. Very disappointed !!

Food is ok. I especially like their enchiladas, and the flauta dinner which comes with rice, beans, and a salad. Their super steak nachos are delicious. The awesome part is that is open pretty late.

I think the price does not match the food. I have had better tacos that came from a food truck. Depending on what ur in the mood for this place may hit the spot… But they are way to expensive…

How is Taco Bell still in business only a mile from TBK? This is definitely the most delicious Mexican fast-food around. it’s definitely our new go-to spot when the boyfriend and I are too lazy to cook and too hungry to wait at your average sit-down restaurant. Mmmm, I’m craving some tacos & quesadillas right now!

I eat here probably once a week. When I want a cheap, hearty meal. They guys are very friendly and they tend to remember your order! Sometimes I dine in
