I haven’t been to every sushi place in Chicago, but this is hands down the best sushi I’ve tried in the city. The rolls are unique and amazing. Not to mention the sake bomb parties are super fun. Service is good and consistent.

Went here for the first time the other day and the place was fantastic! The service was excellent. Since t was our first time here, the chef and owner gave us a discount on his famous armitage roll, which was phenomenal. The other rolls we got were also fantastic and fresh. They also gave us free icecream at the end. From the food to the service, everything was fantastic!!!

9:00 on a Saturday night. Good sake, amazing sushi, over-the-top friendly service, and dozens of drunk sake bombers. A good time was had by all.

Sushi O Sushi. What a fun time. I’ve been sake bombing before but this was the first time it’s ever been organized like this with a –more or less — designated cheerleader to assist us with our sake bomb chants. I found it to be a nice change of pace from regular sake bombing! I think the process is basically call and reserve your groups spot on Friday or Saturday and when you come in for your time, they have all the sushi and sake ready for you. I’m not usually a sushi person but I ate a few pieces and it was surprisingly not awful which is saying a lot for me. The sake bombing itself was obviously the best part. We had 4 tables taking turns talking trash and chanting back and forth. It was an awesome time! This is a great group activity if everyone in your group likes to drink. Friends who drink together, stay together.

I love it, a wild celebration of excess! Come here for the sake bombs, you’re going to need a few in you before you indulge in their not-so-fresh sushi. The sake is balanced on chopsticks above a pint of Sopporo, before you sing a song at the top of your lungs of good times, pound on the table, dropping the sake into the beer, and then you chug. «LOUIELOUIE, Oh, sake said we gotta go!» :BANG: :thunk: :fizz: :chug: «AYE Aye aye aye…» The servers remind me of Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, where the patrons are unruly, making a terrible mess of the place, and they’re desperately trying to keep on top of it all. It’s almost steamy hot down there, this restaurant in the basement level, and a sake bomb party of 15 sweaty loud people next to you doesn’t make it any better; your table and their table will end up competing by way of drunkenness and song; in the end, you’re all winners. But why is it hot? My guess is that the operator is a genius; make the patrons sweat all the alcohol out so either they buy more, or they leave here more sober. Plan to take public transit given all the drinking.

My fiancé and I ordered take out from here for dinner. The order was ready within 15 minutes after we called. The staff was friendly including Andy the chef who was very entertaining. There was a saki party going on with about 20 people who seemed like they were having a blast. The food however was average even including the crab ragoon. Armitage roll: This roll I think is defiantly something to try once. It’s different than any roll I have ever tasted however not worth spending $ 17.50 on. It easily fell apart. I wouldn’t order it again. Winter rolll: This was my favorite! Mmm white tuna on top. I will defiantly order this roll next time. Love Saki roll: This roll was my least favorite. I wouldn’t order it again. I only ordered it because it was listed as a favorite, unfortunately, it was my least favorite.

Just moved to Old Town and am a huge fan of sushi so I decided to pop into this place with a friend. While the inside is a little dark the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating, not to mention the sushi is fantastic! Definitely recommend this place. They also offer sake bomb parties for a pretty great deal. One was there while we were eating and it seemed like a great time. Will definitely be going back here soon

My friend planned a surprise birthday party for me, and it was the best birthday I’ve ever had! We had a group of 12 and were 1 of 3 large groups in the restaurant that night. There is unlimited sushi and saki, and the groups unofficially«compete» for the best saki cheers. The evening was super fun, and the restaurant was able to accommodate my friend’s food restrictions. They even gave me a mochi desert with my name written on the plate in chocolate. This should definitely be your next birthday dinner/party. Amazing.

We were there last night on our Son’s recommendation! The Sushi was the best we’ve ever had. We just drove in from Cincinnati & we both lived only about a block away when we met so it was also a trip down memory lane. The owner even treated us to some free Ice Cream. I also had some great Teriyaki Chicken. Quiet & a little away from the city congestion.

I saw a Sushi restaurant while driving around the Rush street area. Nigiri Sushi is my FAVORITE meal. Lo and behold, I saw Sushi O Sushi, last night. So it took me a year to find parking on Cleveland/Dickens on Lincoln. I walked the 2 or so blocks and descended downstairs into the unknown. MYGOSH! The entertainment was fabulous. Andy and a few waiters informed me that maybe I’d like to move because it gets rather loud. I said nopers! I’m used to noise. They had 2 large parties of party folks and the noise they caused was WONDERFUL! I even sang along with them… but i didn’t drink as much as they did … not by a long shot. The Nigiri sushi was to die for. The fish was fresh and melted in my mouth. The warm sake was wonderful and I just had a GREAT Time! I give it Faith’s 2 thumbs up! BOOYAH! I’ll be back again! And not only that, I put labels on 300 post cards while I ate and drank and enjoyed the noise. LOL!

This place is great. I’ve done pick up and ate there and the sushi is great. The fish tastes fresh and the rolls are well put together. My favorite part however is the main chef Andy. He always tries to get you to smile and says a big hello when you walk in. Really nice to have a owner as excited about what he does as him. Keep up the great work!

We went to sushi o sushi for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. Our group of 9 each payed $ 42(not including gratuity) for a two hour saki bomb«party». I put party in quotes because our server made the event feel less like a party and more like a hostage situation. His incessant need to maintain control over our table went from awkward to rude in a matter of minutes. At first I honestly thought we were being Punked, but when Ashton never showed up I knew this was for real. He rushed us, shushed us and acted like an overzealous babysitter, enforcing rules and punishing those trying to have fun. I will never go back to Sushi O Sushi because of this lunatic server. But… the sushi is good, so maybe I’ll order for take-out next time.

We were here last weekend, walked in without reservations around 9 pm. Surprisingly there were enough seats left to sit down. I love the sushi here, been here couple times. The chefs are warm and welcoming-their personalities really lift your spirits. My favorite flavor here is the kimchi sushi. Its a different take on the traditional Korean sushi that I am used to, which is why I like it. This restaurant is very small and loud. Always. Clientele is mainly under 30 with lots of drinking. Sushi is well prepared, has good mix of flavors and tasty.

Really fun experience here, definitely an awesome place to bring groups. Price is a tad steep, but you pay for more than just the food. All you can drink sake is tough to beat. I knocked a couple stars off because a) the price is a little high, and b) the sushi is of average taste and quality. Really nice people there and they don’t mind when you inevitably get a little intoxicated.

This place is a gem! You’re met with an energetic greeting from the chef every time, which is always a great way to start. He’s funny and makes you feel like you made the right choice of deciding to walk in! The waiters there are also friendly and personable.(Bonus points for being cute!) The food is awesome too. Don’t leave without trying the armitage roll! The tuna was so fresh and whatever sauce they put on it was sooooo good. Definitely my favorite. I also had the super spider, grand canyon, strawberry delight, spicy tuna crunch, and one more I can’t remember the name of, but all were great! So great, this has become my favorite sushi spot! Yay! Now I want to try one of their sake bomb parties!

Definitely enjoyed my experience here, but maybe if there was another sake bomb party option in the Chi to compare it to, it may be closer to three stars. As others noted, $ 42/person(before tip) for all you can drink sake bombs and sushi(not unlimited, but more to that later). Cash only! Right away, our server and leader of our chants was super friendly and helpful. He was pretty good throughout in terms of being funny and personable. However, while we all definitely got drunk at the end, I felt that we actually could have had more sake bombs. Few times, we had to ask him to replenish our Hite beer, especially as he was about to lead us into another chant/bomb. I was expecting the drinks to be constantly flowing to our table, once they were replenished, especially as no one in our party was acting out of line or anything. We were there from 8:15 — 10:15 and I felt like we did a chant and sake bomb(as a group at least) about every half hour. Things definitely slowed down towards the end, as I don’t recall doing any more chants, so I guess, we could have just done it ourselves, but the whole fun and feel of the party is to go crazy with the group and somewhat compete with the other parties going on, which is what we initially did in the beginning. Now for the sushi. The amount that they give you is satisfying, just like the beer and sake. But again, I feel like having another round of sushi(and sake bombs) would have been perfect and complete. It is true though that if you are still hungry, you could ask for more sushi. We did ask for more, but our server just brought over the sushi plate from the other side of our extensive table. I understand that we should finish our food first, but it would have been nice to be asked if it was enough, especially after we consumed the rest of the rolls. The sushi itself was fine. Some better than others and some with more rice than others. Sushi is better if simply dining there. To note, they also bring out edamame in the beginning. What was great was that one of our group members showed up later and missed the first round of sushi(& sake bombs), so our server brought out her own plate of sushi and made her do a sake bomb to catch up. Birthday boy also got a plate of assorted mochi ice cream which was nice. I also wished that the owner/chef would have joined our party just for a minute, as I met him another time just dining there. He is super nice and fun, so that would have been icing on the cake. Overall, the price to me is worth it. Very enjoyable fun atmosphere. Another offering round of bombs and sushi and slightly more attentive service on refilling the drinks would have been five stars.

This sushi was great and the owner was a lot of fun. Ordered the Armitage roll, spicy octopuses and spider roll. It was a good mix for the friends who are newer to sushi and us who eat it frequently. The rolls are on the pricy side but the quality of fish used and the flavor justified the price. Best sushi I’ve had in Chicago, so far! We will be back, the owner was a lot of fun and the staff was friendly.

Sushi O sushi is great with a big group whose primary goal for the night is to slosh and slam down beer mugs filled with cold Hite beer and recently dropped cold sake. I don’t know how many all-you-can-drink(AYCD) sake bomb places there are in the city, but I can definitely be loyal to this one next time I need a night of chugging sake bombs while chanting house created chants, and slamming my fists on the table. If there are other parties participating in the drinking, you can send a representative from your table to compete in sake bombing, with the chance of winning a t-shirt! Our server was a wonderful guide for us all night, encouraging us to keep drinking, teaching us new chants, and being a generally really chill dude even though we were pretty rowdy. For $ 42, you are entitled to AYCD sake bombs and a few rounds of sushi made by the chef. The sushi is fantastic, and definitely not a cheap afterthought meant to trick drunk people into thinking they’re eating quality food. It’s actually really good. On the night I went, we were served several plates of jazzed up traditional rolls with delicious salmon, tuna, krab, avocado, fried stuffs. Bring cash if you’re doing AYCD sake bombs though. That’s the only way they will accept payment.
