Came here on a Friday night and it was completely deserted. And I mean deserted. I actually had to ask the guy sitting at the bar watching tv if the place was open. He said it was, turned off the tv, and turned on the stereo. Granted it was still early, but very strange to see a place with 4 stars and no patrons on a Friday evening. That never ever happens in New York. The place is downstairs, so it’s kind of hidden. The décor is cave-like which gives the place a cool, underground vibe. As we were the only people there, we had our own private booth. The cocktails were strong, but very well made and delicious. They have some interesting, unique drinks worth trying. The only thing I didn’t like was the layout. It’s kind of just a long stretch of space vs an actual room. If it were crowded, it’d be difficult to move past people and impossible to mingle. However, I could see this place being really good with more people.

I cannot express how horribly I was treated. I had reservations for a birthday party, when I arrived with my three friends, the bouncer told us we could not get into the bar because they were«at capacity» or until more people left. He told us that we could wait there for others to leave, and told us that at least 7 people would have to leave for the four of us to get in. Not really sure where he got the number 7 from. While we were waiting, we watched as four different parties were welcomed in by the bouncer. Why were we still not welcomed in but these other parties were? What does maximum capacity mean when you allow others to come in but not you? The bouncer said his name was Regis. Look out for this angry bouncer who picks and chooses who he lets in to the bar. Will never go here or suggest this place to anyone. Horrible business model.

Awesome underground bar lounge in Old Town along the strip of Wells street bars between Schiller and North Ave. All of the bartenders are all pretty cool, down to earth and super easy to talk to. Friday’s and Saturdays are the most poppin’ nights here and they usually have a DJ spinning in the back. I once ran into Shawn Marion from the Dallas Mavericks here once and gave him a high five. Definitely a memorable night! Anyways, worth a stop if you looking to grab drinks and your rolling with a group. Music isn’t too loud so grab a seat and catch up with your friends! I recommend their Old Town Hattan, their spin on a traditional Manhattan using woodford reserve & not bad for $ 11! ‘Til next time, cheers!

#25 The bartenders and servers are absolutely fantastic at Suite Lounge. We fell into this place late on one of our crazy Chicago nights and were not disappointed. We had been bar hopping(Fireplace, Pour House, Benchmark, yada, yada, yada…) and it turned into a «crawl» somehow, but that is a whole other story. Next stop: Suite Lounge. When we arrived, we were greeted by two of the friendliest bouncers this side of the Mason Dixon. They were all, «Welcome to Suite, have a great time.» Okay, am I on an episode of Punked? Where is Ashton? Why are these bouncers so sweet? Well, not to worry, I mean I have never met bouncers this cool, but there is a first for everything. And if this is any indicator of the bar service we are going to receive I am in for another great night in Chi-town. We had to meander down some interesting steps into an almost basement like atmosphere and into the packed out Suite Lounge. Upon entering the narrow, bizarre little space we were able to grab a table after a little group left and we had such a great time. The music was wonderful, and the people were dancing everywhere. Suite offers several mixed(and strong) drinks and never had us wait long. The service inside was perfect, so it was true – the bouncers were an excellent preview of the impeccable service inside(and down stairs). They have this amazing martini menu that is absolutely ridiculously packed with options. Monday thru Thursday Suite offers drink specials including a $ 5 martini of the day – WOW! This is freaking awesome! The people we came into contact with were all having fun dancing, drinking, etc., and were just as interesting as the martini menu. I felt like I was at home in the Bay Area with all the culture and wonderment. After perusing this plush martini menu, I chose the 007 martini and Lauren opted for the Pop Rock, yes, replete with freaking pop rock candy. WTF??? For a little over $ 10 a piece we got decent martinis – one with crazy candy all around the rim and a distinctly pink color, and the other very sophisticated and yummy. I had one, and then I decided«fun» martinis are not my style, so I reverted back to a regular old vodka martini, which was every bit as delicious as I wanted it to be. We met a guy named Sean, I think he was either the manager or the owner from how much he attended to us, our needs and seemed to be interested in our whole«I lived here when I was young» but now I am from«out of town» doing the visiting thing. He was genuinely interested in our trip and how we heard about the place. I also would like to mention how pretty all the servers/bartenders were. Great hiring Sean ;) Stephani Smiles for Suite Lounge ;) #dontwearstilettosonthosestairsifyouredrunk

Had the best night here while visiting Chicago. If you’re a 90’s music fiend, this is it! Go down a hallway off Wells St. in old town, and you get to this lounge. Down the stairs, and you’re in some musical time warp. There’s great cocktails for cheap(LA standards), and the service is spot on. Waitress checked on us multiple times in the night without being pushy, and the bartender took a free shot with us at the end of the night just for coming in. Had no problem snagging a premier booth for the night around 10pm, and it was full of people but not packed to the point of being uncomfortable or no longer full. Great crowd, with everyone having a blast and being midwestern nice. We loved it so much we tried to come back here every other night we were visiting the city. Highly recommended for a girls night out, friends bar crawl, or any other excuse you want to knock a few down and dance the night away. Would kill to have a neighborhood bar like this in my hometown!

Was visiting from LA and met up with a friend. She suggested this place saying she has a great time every time she’s here. We were not disappointed! Wasn’t too crowded at the time we went and we managed to find a table & couch to the side. it was a great spot to talk and catch up! What made our experience really stand out was our bartender/server person — Bridget! She was very patient with our drunk asses(haha) and was helpful and friendly. She gave us suggestions on what to get, was so nice, and had a positive attitude. Thanks Bridget! :)

I have to say, this place strikes me as bit eclectic but a fun hole in the wall, errr ground as the case may be. As you descend the small staircase into the burrows of the establishment, the smell of cheap perfume and booze rush up to meet you. The thrum of the music let’s you know this could be a fun time. The bar is a bit small and feels incredibly intimate. If you aren’t comfortable squeezing in at the bar or one of the small tables with your friends while strangers gyrate to the music right next to you, this might not be your place. I felt the music selection was mean to appeal to the 25 – 35 something demographic, so I found it enjoyable. Drinks were decent and relatively well priced.

I came here for a friend’s birthday party on a Saturday night and had a very enjoyable time. Décor: It’s very easy to find the entry(from the sidewalk) but once I was past the bouncer I was immediately confused… all I saw was an alleyway! Luckily a bachelorette party came up the stairs and out the doorway immediately to my left so I was back on track from there. Once downstairs it’s a cool lounge space. It’s longer than it is wide but they have two bars and an overall chill feel. We had a reserved table up near the front, which was nice because it became rather crowded in the rear(where you, unfortunately have to fight your way through to get to the bathrooms). The bouncers did a great job of monitoring the amount of people b/c it was never to a point that I’d describe as «over crowded.» Anyway, nice place, pretty clean, dimly lit(keeps the mood) and entertaining DJ(just music though, no one was really dancing). Bathroom: typical bar bathroom, not the cleanest place but it is well lit and not deplorably filthy Staff: Our waitress was terrible, so I just went to the bar. The bartender, I forget her name, was totally awesome though. She was VERY fast with drinks, super chill, and was a delight to chat with. The moment that really stuck out in my mind was when someone in our group ended up not liking the drink she ordered and our bartender made her something different. What a total class act. A+ service! Drinks: They have a full bar and a SOLID selection of bourbon. I mean, they have Blanton’s so I was in heaven. They also make a bunch of signature cocktails(martinis) that people really seemed to enjoy. Fun fact, they have 40oz. of Miller High Life! Haha Everything was great and they have a heavy handed pour as well. Value: This place is worth every penny. GREAT service(except our waitress…), delicious drinks, prices on par — such great value for your money. I was unsure how this place was going to turn out, I was afraid of it being populated by a much younger crowd, but it totally surpassed expectation. This place is a gem and I cannot wait to come back for more drinks or another party(either a friend’s or my own!)

Came here around 1 am w/a group of friends. Great place with a long bar, comfy booths, and a dance floor towards the back. The drinks are strong, yet they’re so tasty you can’t even tell(aka they pack a punch aka a great bang for your buck). I had The Blackberry Smash, which is a must if you’re a fan of blackberries. Will definitely come back if I’m in the area!

Two words…“Killer Martinis”. But if you need more incentive. . read on my friends…read on. You might have to be looking for this place as the small doorway has had me walking right by for many years. Go down the stairs and you will find yourself in a cozy environment, perfect for that martini you were craving. Not craving a martini? No problem. The bartenders here can pretty much create any drink known to man, but those martinis are really special(I think they have mind altering components in them. .but that’s another story for another day!) We stayed, we drank, we drank some more. And then we left. And the story must end there. For what happens at the Suite Lounge…really needs to stay at the Suite Lounge.

Coat Hooks: no Also: pretty cool despite the giant pile of coats taking up space in our booth. decent option when you’re in the neighborhood.

We came here on Saturday for some drinks after a show at the Second City. It was empty, which was actually kind of nice. The bartenders were very friendly and the menu was big. I liked the variety of drinks, but I guess I expected ice cream-based cocktails, I don’t know why. I had the Pretty Princess and the Chocoholic. The Pretty Princess was beautiful and pink with pink sprinkles and it was very good. I like X-rated liquer, so this was perfect for me! The Chocoholic was just okay, too strong for me so I gave it to my friend. I liked the Oreos on the rim though. My friends had a bunch of different stuff, including the Carrot Cake, Cappucino, and the Cat’s Pajamas. I liked the Cat’s Pajamas and I was the odd man out who didn’t like the Cappucino cocktail, I’m not much of a coffee drinker though, so that could be it. Cocktails were about $ 12/each, which wasn’t terrible for the amount of booze you were getting. I do wish they had a tiny munchies menu or something, because we ended up walking down the street for food afterwards. It would have been nice to stay in the same place all night. I am giving three stars because in my opinion, ALL the drinks were incredibly strong, which is a good value, but it’s not good for just a casual drink. You come here to get drunk. I ordered a Moscow Mule and it was mostly vodka with a tiny hint of ginger. Also, they need to be more honest about their specials. I checked in on Facebook because there was a banner saying that you get 15% if you check in, and when I showed the bartender, he said it was only on weekdays. The banner doesn’t say that. Oh well. Not a terrible experience, the space is very nice and cozy, especially now for winter and it’s very modern looking.

Stopped in with some friends after a Second City show that were craving something sweet. At 6:30 the place was empty but that’s to be expected at that time. The bartender was very friendly and eager to hear our opinions on the drinks. Everything was delicious! The key lime, black cherry, and carrot cake were to die for. And the chocoholic was strong but very tasty. Prices were about $ 12 per martini which seemed okay and service was great. Only thing that would be nice is some snack items. Since the drinks are strong just some popcorn or pretzels would help.

For me, the highlight of any trip to Suite Lounge is to get drinks made by and to chat with Paul, the bartender. I personally prefer when it is quieter earlier in the evening here, but I’ve also been here when it is absolutely packed. The service is just as good either way.

Four stars??? For what? My boyfriend came here for happy hour drinks soon after they opened for the evening. There was only one person working– he was the bouncer, the DJ, the bartender, and the cashier. The multitasking is fine, but dude, wash your hands if you’re gonna make my drink. The drink specials for happy hour are pretty lame. The prices do not all match up with the advertisements and signs outside– deceiving. There is only one cocktail drink special and it’s not posted anywhere. We had to ask. Sadly, it wasn’t good at all and tasted like watered down soda with no alcohol. Everything else on the menu was pretty pricey. Perhaps this is not a place for«happy hour» but more of a late-night kinda deal. Too bad I’ll never find out… So many other options in Chicago to check out when I’m back!

Cute place with nice booths and tables. Lively atmosphere! This place gets crazy as the night goes on! I had a glass of wine there but my girlfriends ordered some of the martini drinks and raved about them. My glass of wine was okay, so I would probably try one of their cocktails next time. The servers are super friendly and keep checking on you. If you get there early enough, you can easily snag a cool booth and do some great people watching as the night goes on!

Much more my speed! Classy, yet sporty. Place was dead. It was only 630pm. With their happy hour. That confused me. But I chatted up their bartender for an hour. He was witty & had character. He attended nicely to me. Absolute win AMAZINGCONVERSATION. And his family is from NYC. Revisited my childhood and college years with him. Music amazing too. Rap, alternative, contemporary, R&B, etc… Drinks super strong! Perfect bar visit Winning status. Ok!

We came in around 1am on a Monday night. It was only us and the bartender. I felt a bit guilty because I’m pretty sure he wanted to close early before we arrived. Look for an awning with an «S» from the street. The entrance is located on the left side followed by a set of stairs going down. Their drink menu is pretty cool. I ordered the Pretty Princess martini which was rimmed with sugar. It was sweet, but not my glass of alcohol. I don’t like drinks where you can taste the alcohol. The birthday girl in our group didn’t like her drink too much either. It’s our problem we don’t know how to drink. The bartender was kind enough to make her another drink. I tasted it and it was good with cream cheese frosting on the rim. He also made a fantastic chocolate concoction for her. He offered to make me another drink too, but I felt guilty so I declined his generous offer. The bartender is what made the lounge 5 star worthy.

was here a few weeks ago after a long night elsewhere :) I was here a few years ago and I was served drinks in a plastic cup. I dont remember if it was plastic this time or now. On a Thursday night after 9PM it was packed to the gills with people. Also is a good place to go after the wine crush on wells which is in a few weeks IM just sayin”
