Best cigar lounge ever. Was in Chicago for business trip. Wanted to smoke a cigar INSIDE(apparently that is a challenge in Chicago). Stumbled on this place. What an oasis. Great selection of affordable cigars, comfortable leathers chairs and TVs, great staff — and all in a mansion in the middle of the city! Just a few blocks from the bars/restaurants on Rush Street.

The atmosphere was great as were the cigars. The staff kind of sucked. They weren’t interested in educating me about their cigars. I asked if I could smell one and I was told that it’s irrelevant as to if the flavor is good and basically implied to just buy what he picked out so he could be done with me. He didn’t explain any of the differences between the 3 cigars I picked. His choice ended up being great but I would’ve liked more help when buying a $ 18 cigar on a not busy night.

Great spot ! Incredible backdrop complete with leather chairs in a fully appointed Gold Coast Greystone Mansion which attracts a fascinating crowd of interesting and knowledgeable cigar connoisseurs. A first rate staff headed by the Manager, Richard, makes everyone feel welcome and well tended to. Beautiful courtyard with wrought iron furniture to enjoy during warmer weather and 2 floors of old school victorian opulence including a bar, a pool table, huge stone fireplaces to keep you warm during those cold Chicago winters. A Chicago gem.

Great cigar selection, beautiful décor and good location. The only reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the ridiculous price to smoke a cigar in their upstairs lounge. Biggs has 2 floors; the 1st floor is a small space that’s free for all visitors and has 2 tvs. Personally i like to smoke with friends, but if you bring a group of more than 2 ppl, the setup makes it tough to accommodate everyone(not many chairs; also if you sit in the front area by the door you’ll get cold during the winter months.) There’s also no booze allowed on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor is ginormous but meant for members. If you’re not a member you can go up there if you pay $ 50…and that’s up from $ 30 last year. Upstairs it’s BYOB and they have what i deem to be the ultimate mancave. So while the setup is solid, the fee is unreasonable and cost prohibitive. If it included a cigar I’d be open to it… but it just allows you to sit down. By the way — I’ve heard the membership is around $ 2k a year. I love cigars but not that much! Biggs i want to give you 5 stars but i can’t do it. To be sure if i only smoked alone, I’d give it 5 stars because you can find 1 empty leather chair to indulge(or they will toss you a fold up chair.) But if you’re rolling with a group of 3 or more… you might have to drop the cash or stand around most of the night.

Nice Location Very clean ok cigar selection i just don’t like that options they have on there seating arrangement. If your not a VIP member you cant sit up stairs they charge each person $ 50 to sit in the VIP. I was there with my wife on new year day and the place was packed in the 1fl i ask the guy if there was any way we can sit upstairs he replied it will be $ 50 each i understand you got to make your money and stay to your rules but come on. its a holiday no body was sitting upstairs and no kind of courtesy there’s no seating for your customers i don’t get it. Cigars are meant to sit back relax and feel welcome no matter how much money you have or how you look. This place can be one of the nicest place to have a smoke but somethings need to change.

My friends and I came here after Chicago Q for some cigars. I was kind of disappointed. The guy that was working did not seem to want to help us(8 girls in our 20s). He seemed to care more about the men that were already there. We actually ended up asking some customers for their opinions on cigars. The idea behind this place is great, but they could do a lot more. They don’t allow alcohol which has sucks. The smoking lounges are small. They do have cigars that are all prices and sizes. My friends had never smoked before and found very mild cigars for their taste.

In a smoke free city, you might be looking for a place where you can chill out on a leather chair and smoke a cigar. If that were the case, this is your place. We were in from out of town, so we weren’t into a membership or anything, but just picked out a cigar from the case and sat for a smoke. The staff was super helpful in selecting a cigar from a tremendous selection, and didn’t try to sell us on something crazy expensive or anything. Once we sat down, it was a great place to just chill, have a nice conversation, and smoke a cigar. It was appropriately quiet for a conversation, although football was also playing on the TV that night. Had it been a little warmer, the patio might have been nice but«winter is coming» so to speak. Maybe I’ll try to swing by again if I make it to Chicago in the summer.

Great cigar lovers secret. Beautiful mansion holds the private club but visitors can buy a cigar and smoke in two nice lounges or on an absolutely beautiful private patio if the weather is nice.

Great knowledge from the staff, selection was also top rate. Only downfall, can only drink if you buy a day pass to 2nd and 3rd floor. If I was staying longer I would have spent the $ 50.

Biggs Mansion, finally, a REAL upscale cigar lounge in Downtown Chicago. I can’t wait to be a true regular here. Biggs is very laid back with an excellent cigar collection. They even have a private collection of boutique cigars. The staff is a knowledgeable and entertaining group of professional men(especially Peter). Come, stay, smoke, you will not be disappointed! See you next time

Was recommended to Biggs by a friend, so had to check it out. Arrived to find a huge old mansion with a few folks sitting around outside enjoying cigars. Went inside and found a very pleasant lounge with a medium size selection in their humidor. Bought a few sticks, smoked one with wifey. I read there are upper levels for members, but the guy working was not real talkative about options or anything really. So we enjoyed our cigars and left. Might return, but will check out other lounges in the area first.

The interior of the Biggs Mansion is absolutely gorgeous. Wood paneled ceilings, wood paneled walls, and hardwood floors. The sales clerks are extremely knowledgeable about cigars and are very helpful. Its nice to sit on a leather couch while within a temperature controlled climate, access to the top nationwide newspapers(NYTImes, USAToday, et al), large flat screen televisions, all while puffing on delicious cigars. Very relaxing atmosphere. Location is easy to get to, its near the«Triangle», if you are driving you will probably have luck with pay-to-park on N. Dearborn or just west of N. Dearborn. I can envision this location becoming an event destination.

Hands down absolutely the best cigar joint in Chicago! They have a nice range of cigars, the staff is absolutely amazing & and the location is great! They have indoor and outdoor seating. I love their outdoor seating. If you’re in the mood to relax kick back and have a cigar you have to make a stop here! I highly recommend this cigar venue. I went from having 1 cigar a month to having 1 cigar a week now to have any 2 – 4 cigars a week because of being in love with this place! :)

I travel to Chicago for work quite a bit and I am always looking for ways to wind down in the city. I love fine cigars and I always have a hard time finding a good cigar lounge to hang out at. Mainly because they are either impossible to find or they are run down and not the type of place you want to stay for a couple hours. When I walked by Biggs Cigar Emporium, I was floored. First, I am pretty sure its the building from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off where he had lunch as the«sausage king of Chicago» which was why I first did a double take. Then, once I entered I knew I was home. Their layout is superb. The entire bottom floor is a cigar lovers dream. Fine and rare cigars, large open humidors, every accessory you can imagine, just very well put together. I was impressed at the number of rare cigars they had in stock. God of Fire, Opus X, Avo and Davidoff Anniversary Editions. Not many places have such a selection if one wanted to spoil themselves. I ended up choosing a cigar they get privately supplied and it was very enjoyable. My friend and I sat downstairs in their lounge which provided a great atmosphere and the ideal hang out while smoking. The outside area is also great but it was a beautiful night in Chicago so it was packed. Usage of the entire facility is reserved for its members. I got a chance to peak around and it looked very cool. Upper levels, a private courtyard and a private locker room are just some of the perks of being a member. They have rates for out of town and local guests and a membership there is about the same as going to a gym so very reasonable. I am looking forward to hanging out at Biggs next time I am in town. Great atmosphere, great people and a much needed cigar selection. Well Done!

Almost everything you’d want in a cigar lounge. Big leather chairs inside, nice wicker furnishings outside on the patio deck, good cigar selection with both a walk in humidor and wall cabinet humidors in the main retail area. Like I said«almost» They don’t serve refreshments, so remember to stop by the Starbucks at the end the of the block first…

FINALLY!!! A place to smoke a fine cigar in peace! In Chicago the options were slim and none as far places to go, Biggs Cigar Emporium is something we sorely needed. I look forward to coming here and I recommend it to any cigar smoker. The staff is professional and knows the vast arena of cigars brands, come check it out. Open to the public! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 5 Stars !!!

We had a great time! The cigar selection is top notch. The staff were able to provide great suggestions, because I wanted to try something new. The lounge was warm and inviting, almost like sitting in your living room. And the patrons were beyond friendly with great conversation. We will visit this place whenever we are in Chicago and suggest it to people who inquire about a great place to purchase and smoke a cigar.

Great cigar lounge in the Gold Coast. Nice, diverse cigar selection. Check out the vintage cigar walk in humidor.
