Ok– so I am not a picky patient. I always take the entire day off when I have a Drs appointment because I understand that doctors sometimes get behind schedule and things take longer than expected. I do not expect doctors to treat me as if I am their only patient. HOWEVER, my experience at Sonya Thomas’s office was the WORST experience I have ever had in my life. I walked in at 11:10 for my 11:15 appointment, I had filled out and send in all of my paperwork ahead of time. I was then told to sit in the waiting room with close to 20 other people… there’s only one Dr at this practice so I have no idea why on Earth she had that many people scheduled for the same time. The receptionist was incredibly rude to me(like a new low of customer service) about only have a photocopy of my insurance card(it’s new and had been sent to my parents since I am on their insurance, so they just sent me a photo copy — this has never been an issue in the past). The receptionist literally questioned me on how difficult it was to keep a card in my wallet and then said she was noting my chart to not see me at my next appointment if I did not have it with me. I then took a seat and waited 1 hours and 30 minutes before a nurse took me back for my weight, blood pressure, and a pee pregnancy test(I had taken 5, so I knew it would be positive and felt like a waste of time. I came here for something a little more medical than what I can buy at Walgreens.) I then sat in the waiting room for another 2 and a half hours… FOUR hours after my appointment I was finally taken back and saw the doctor. She was incredibly rude to me and just said«Im concerned that I dont see a fetal pole and you’re 8 weeks along. So come back in 2 weeks but I dont think this is a viable pregnancy» and then had me put my clothes on and leave. She didn’t do any blood work to test my hormone levels. She didn’t offer any advice or alternatives. And she was incredibly rude and didn’t apologize once for the 4 hours wait. I will absolutely not be returning and would highly suggest other women not to either.

If i could have given her and this office 0 stars I would! DONOTGOTOTHISDROROFFICE. I am 45 years old and went to Dr Thomas for my yearly apt. The staff is rude — the woman at the front desk takes bad customer service to a new low. The Dr was fine but barely took the time to discuss the Peri-menopausal issues I was having. I walked away from the appointment feeling like — wow this was a bad experience but I got my yearly done and all is at least behind me. NO today 125 days later, my appt was March of 2015, I got a bill! My first from the appt I was under the impression my insurance had paid as I had not gotten anything. Included in this was a pregnancy test! I hadn’t been informed I was getting, I wasn’t aware I was given and now I am told when I called to discuss it — Hmmm what do you want me to do about it? Seriously??? They gave me a test I am being billed for that I didn’t know about… somehow I think that is unethical and illegal isn’t it??? At no point today when I called did they ask me if they could get back to me, consult the doctor, check into it more — nothing. She just kept saying yes, I am sorry. I spoke to both the billing person as well as the Dr Assistant/Tech. Not only do I have a bill that has been on my credit as 120 days late but I did not need or know about the test I am being billed for. Horrible! DONOTUSETHISDOCTORSOFFICE — BEWARE

Despite all the great reviews on this site as well as others, I’m sure the doctor is great. However, the waiting time was not worth it. People make appointments so that we all respect eachother’s time. As I was just looking for an annual checkup and not in any dire needs, I received a refund after waiting over an hour in the waiting room. Everyone seemed nice but, I already took off work early and to wait hours, like the others also waiting there, I took my chance to dip after waiting over an hour. While they might be the best, my schedule doesn’t fit waiting an additional two hours after a scheduled appointment. They charge you $ 25 if you are late, I’d hope they’d respect my time as well.

Dr. Thomas is wonderful! first 10:15 appointment she was over an hour late and her staff lied and said she was running 15 min late. I didn’t leave until 12:30. Second 10:15 appointment she arrived at the office at 10:20. The nurse was nice. The receptionist will answer questions but isn’t helpful and Dr. Thomas«doesn’t return phone calls«. If you’re looking for excellent gynecologist, she’s your lady. If you’re pregnant, don’t bother. I am now reducing them to 2 stars because the prescription«supposedly» sent to my cvs pharmacy at 11am and was«in progress» according to the receptionist at the Dr. Office STILL has not been submitted to cvs. At 10PM! Almost 12HOURSLATER! COMPLETELYUNEXCEPTABLE! No one will be in her office until Tuesday! I will never go here again! !!

I really like Dr. Thomas, she is pleasant and has a great bedside manner however after dealing with her unprofessional office staff and having issues getting in touch with her for blood lab results, I just had to find a new OB/GYN. Made an appt. on zocdoc, filled out paperwork — and her staff said it’s not accepted, so I had to refill out the exact same paperwork in the office. Got directed to do blood work, results were sent to the office — took two weeks to get in touch with me(and this was after a lot of my follow up/calls). She is not a bad doctor, I really really like her — just not right for what my expectations were.
