I like this place! I didn’t eat here, but the music was good and not too loud which is a BIG plus. It was a lively place to get a drink and wasn’t dark and hard to maneuver like some bars. The crowd was on the yuppie side, i.e. guys who think they are much cooler than they are. You know, typical Chicago no-one-smiles attitude. Not sure they need a restroom attendant in the men’s room(a personal pet peeve), but all in all a fun night.

I ordered the brisket dip. It was ok, but very salty. Drinks were good and well poured. The bartender Sara, must have just got a new nose ring as she could not keep her fingers out of her nose. Just saying… she is making your drink!

This place was great! Super busy but we were able to get a table right away. Seems like THE place to be on Friday for #HappyHour Hubby ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with Sea Salt Fries and Cheese Sauce. I didn’t like the cheese sauce at all but the fries were good. He said the sandwich was awesome and trust me the hubby knows fried chicken sandwiches. I ordered the BBQ pulled Pork Flatbread and it rocked! A little spicy and a little sweet. Tons of pulled pork. I am a super fan! Waitress was good but I realized right before we left that the daily special had been lobster rolls and had I known that I would have definitely gone with that instead. SO I was a little bummed we weren’t told about any specials and had to read about them on a flyer inside our check.

Why does one need a bouncer outside a restaurant that decides if you get to eat there? Sends a bad message about their intentions. I skip it. Many more places to eat in that area.

I’m writing a bit late. But I was just talking about this bar with a friend today. Well, I was here last year for my brothers birthday party we had about 10 people in our party Saturday night. We had dinner at another restaurant before we arrived here around 10pm. It was pretty crowded from what I recalled. We took a small table that only seated about 4 of us as the rest were standing close by drinking. Yes, all the tables were taken. My only beef was trying to order a beer at the bar it took a while. Even the waitress took a bit longer for our small table to serve. I would like to check this place out again as my sister told me she used to come on Sundays when the Bears played. So maybe I’ll come a little early get a good table with TV view next time around.

Overall nice place. Great selection of beer on tap and good menu selection. Waitress was very nice and timely. I ordered the chicken burger with the garlic parm fries and it was very flavorful.

Really good food and really fun atmosphere ! Some of the tables have built in taps for beer which I thought was really fun ! I went there with my aunt and two sisters and we shared a bunch of different things. The Mac and cheese was great and you can add your own toppings to it and the mussels were fantastic! The Brussel sprouts with the bacon were another one of our favorites. Can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu!

public house is a great place to get drinks. The beer flights there are awesome. I didn’t have the opportunity to try their food. The atmosphere is wonderful inside. The design is beautiful and the interior decorations are very unique. Loved being able to grab a flight while exploring the city on a Saturday afternoon.

This place is great to for small or big groups. The food is always excellent. BBQ to steak. But the chicken wings are one of a kind. They are not buffalo wings, but their own special type via how they are cooked and the spices. This place always seems crowded. Don’t smash into the front glass door lol

Smoked Turkey sandwich for $ 12 is huge and delicious! Made reservations for a large group, not sure reservations are needed during the week. Chill music, good food, great prices, awesome beer selection.

This place isn’t bad. I’ve been here several times, service is OK, hit or miss with waitresses, depending on how busy they are, sometimes service was not very good, but overall, I’m fine with coming here for a beer and some decent food, plus it’s down the street from my apartment. I never come here on like Thurs-Sat nights, so Im sure my review would be less, but for lunch or early weekday dinner, I haven’t run into any major issues. Good: — Chicken burger with the white bbq sauce is my favorite. — Regular burger is decent. — Fries are like fresh-cut. — Soft pretzel comes with beer cheese dipping sauce, that’s yum. — Cheese curds — love them. I mean, it’s deep fried cheese. The dipping sauces are a waste, don’t like them. — Southwest cobb salad — I like it. — Beer flights for when you can’t make up your damn mind — keep that up. Bad: — The brisket sliders are awful — fatty and they smelled. Took one bite and that was enough. Don’t recommend

A couple more items from a recent visit: -. Great Lakes Christmas Ale 2015. 7.5% ABV, 30IBU. Brewed with honey. Clear copper, light head. Perfumey nose, perhaps from the honey. A winter warmer, but not a spiced ale. Malt-forward, with a burnt-caramel quality and a hint of chocolate at the end. — Greenbush Distorter Porter. 7.2%, 50IBU. Bottled. Opaque dark brown, medium cream head. Weak malt nose. Strong roast malt front, more like a bitter stout than a porter. A bit sweeter than the benchmark Guinness, and bitter cocoa in the fade, but no characteristic porter«licorice» note.

Their chicken sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had in my entire life, it literally knocked my socks off. It’s grilled chicken, havarti, avocado, amazing tomato aioli and delicious toasted multi-grain bread. Wow. So amazing, I had to write about it. The side salad I got with it was very tasty too. But Chicago restaurants never seize to amaze me. the place it cute, upscale bar. We sat at the high tables near the bar and had a few beers. I like how the beer menu uses pictures to describe the beer. I had two lagers, although the ran out of the first one, which sucked, but whatever, they made up for it with the chicken sandwich.(Clearly). Service was good, place was packed. Prices are reasonable. I would definitely go back!

Awesome music! This place is pretty cool. The bar area was really fun and rowdy with good music but limited seating. The restaurant has tables with their own beer on tap and another room that has pour it yourself beer and you just need a card to swipe to get beer! But that’s only with a large party that you reserve. The waitress was really nice and helpful! We just stopped by for a beer and left. Wish we knew about this place before!

I was nearby for a medical conference with my boyfriend, who is a doctor. We came by to watch the game. My boyfriend, who has Sleep Apnea, leaned against a table and briefly closed his eyes. And by briefly, I mean for less than a minute — I hadn’t even noticed. A security guard immediately came by and told him he had to leave. He was neither drunk nor belligerent in any way, though the security guard did accuse him of being drunk. He then explained to the guard that he had Sleep Apnea. This made absolutely no difference to the guard, and my boyfriend was forced to leave, while I was left abandon my drink and our friends and close our tab. We won’t ever be back, and to the owners: I strongly suggest you get the security guards some ADA training, before you find yourselves, deservedly, on the wrong end of a lawsuit.

This was the absolute best Lobster Bisque I’ve ever had. I try Bisque whenever I see it on a menu and I’m ALWAYS disappointed. I’ve had it at the Grand Geneva and it was more like s salty tomato soup with absolutely no lobster, recently I tried some from Sheerwater at Hotel Del Coronado, it came with chopped nuts as a garnish and a mask for the lack of lobster. The soup base was better than try he Geneva, but still nothing to write home about. The Bisque that I had today was so creamy and full of flavor. It was like a bowl of cheese. But then it wasn’t. The chunks of lobster were enough to make up for all the missing lobster I’ve endured all my life. I was so satisfied I almost didn’t order an entrée. But then my lunch partner started teaching about the french fries so I had to have some. They were perfect too! Crispy, skin on, salty, fresh… I wish I had a bigger stomach so I could plug out some more. Lol. The service was great. No one rushed us. Our table was cleared while we finished talking. A total of two and a half hours and they were nice and accommodating. I would come back just because of that. I hate being hounded and rushed. I’ll definitely return.

Came here late Saturday night and immediately noticed how douchey the clientele is. You had to fight your way through a mass of people to even get up to the bar. First drink was a whiskey and sprite. By what I got, you could have assumed I asked for sprite with a hint of whiskey. For how expensive mixed drinks are here I would have expected to get more than a glass of pop. Next I had the Revolution Oktoberfest after deciding to steer clear of any mixed drinks. That was ok. The only thing I liked about this place was the hip hop music playing and they had the music videos playing over the bar. If you want a bar that skimps on liquor and appeals to the douchiest of Chicago, this is your spot.

I’m never disapointed with Public House. It has high end bar food, great music, perfect place to watch games at, and you almost always need a reservation for evening nights. This is my first choice place for groups. I’ve done my birthday here to watch the Bears game on Sunday’s afternoon and you can reserve the library area, or any area, for free. You just have to contact the events manager ahead of time and give them the details. The vibe is always trendy and it does get crowded but I do enjoy the service and quality of drinks.

Beer and bagels, the breakfast of champions! Stopped in to watch the Wimbledon finals, this was one of the few spots in the area open at 10AM with TVs available. Bagel and lox plate is a generous portion, but fairly basic and obviously not their forte. Menu just didn’t really appeal to me, so I took my appetite elsewhere after the match was over. Food and service were just okay, the major highlight here is their great patio seating. Interior is mostly bar spots but they have several TVs so it’s great for sporting events. Bar staff are attentive and friendly. Love the downstairs bathrooms, even when they’re crowded there’s never much of a wait.

Public House was a great experience from beginning to end! They had a spacious patio but we decided to dine inside. We were welcomed at the front door as we walked in. There was a private party in the bar and the restaurant was a little busy but the host took us to a table right away. Our server(Lexi) arrived at the table and brought our drinks quickly. I knew it was going to be a great lunch when she said they had Zombie Dust in bottles. We started with the Homemade Pretzel with Cheddar Beer Fondue($ 9)– highly recommend. One pretzel is served in the order but it’s big enough for two people to share. Then, we shared the P-House Burger with pepper jack cheese($ 14). You can choose from three types of seasoning for the fries. I thought the dry rub was a great choice. This was one of the best burgers I’ve had! It can easily be shared between two people. Our beers and water remained full and the food was brought out perfectly! I asked our server about the tables with taps. She said you can call ahead and choose two beers and one liquor to be served at your table. This is a great option for a large group! I will try to remember this for a group to watch a game. Overall– great beer selection(Zombie Dust), great tasting food, and accommodating service! I know I will be back at Public House very soon!
