Tasty, chap, and great service Thai restaurant in Uptown. I came here for late lunch around 2pm on Friday. It was a little bit sad because there was only one person besides me. Interior was old and not really feel bright, but it’s ok. Taste? Great! I ordered Thai iced tea and Tom Yam Noodle Soup. Both met my expectation and I was happy that spices were brought to the table :-) so I could enjoy changing flavors of my noodle soup a bit. I liked the fish ball on noodle soup. Thai iced teas was not super sweet which made me very happy! It went really well with Tom Yam. Staff were nice and welcoming. It was also cheap! Noodle for only $ 7. What a great place! Love it :) I’ll give here 5 stars if the renovation done.

The satay is boooooooomb — eat it live it love it. Pot stickers were also killing it. I had pad see ew as an entrée and it was good but nothing life changing. The fried bananas for dessert were making me believe in God though. So I suppose the advice is(as it always should be) stick with apps and desserts and you’ll be cruisin. Staff are also super delightful!

We were in the area just for the night and stopped here for a quick bite. This place was great! As soon as we walked in, I knew the food would be delicious. It’s a family owned and operated business that makes authentic thai dishes. The service was excellent and our food was prepared quickly. I tried one of my thai favorites, Pad Khing and was very pleased. The dish had sliced ginger, onions, green onions, mushrooms, and I choose tofu as my meat. The sauce was not spicy but very flavorful. My fiancé ordered the chef’s special Basil Duck and was also raving about how good it tasted. Both dishes were perfect proportions for one hungry person.

I loooove this restaurant. I come here when I’m at work so often I can walk in and they know that I’m going to order Pad Ped Beef and two Pepsi cans. Of course I usually walk in with my NF’s twin stroller so they always know it’s me. Very clean restaurant, everyone is super friendly.

We made a special trip from Texas back to Chicago because we love this place so much! We keep trying new things on the menu because everything we have is so good! Eventually we’ll work our way through it all. The Kah Moo Dang, Basil Duck, and Crab Rangoon are our favorite!

This place is relatively close to my apt and I thought I would try it on the way home from work. It’s okay, but nothing spectacular. I would be more likely to go out of my way and go to other Thai places I like better.

This place has good Thai food. They SAY they’re Michelin reviewed, I really don’t know what that means. For the price, it’s great. That said, their food is a tad oily, but it’s the kind of food that hits the spot when you just want quick food. I’m not going to say this place has GREAT Thai, but I will say it has great Thai FORTHEPRICE ;) Forget about dining in here, unless you like sketch

This place is amazing. Siam Noodle and Rice has the best Thai food I have ever tasted, and I am glad that I have been coming here since I was born. Every time I come here, I feel like family. I can joke with the waiters and waitresses, who are not only very friendly but also accommodating to my vegetarian needs. Furthermore, the owner of the restaurant always asks how I am doing, and if my family isn’t eating with me, asks where they are and how they have been. In addition, the food is tasting. My friends who I have brought with me on excursions to Siam still talk about the restaurant and coming back one day. One of the things I am going to miss about Chicago is Siam Noodle and Rice. Every time I come back home, I will definitely make a trip here.

My go to Thai place! Fresh produce and the flavors are not too sweet. You will have to add your own spice though, but that seems to be common in Chicago.

Yep. This place. We came here for some food after a long day that consisted of a brunchtime wedding, many many brunch drinks, a small nap, and shopping. We were obviously starving. We handed over the reins to a friend that lives in the area and that was probably the best decision of the weekend. My husband and I shared green curry. He gets things as spicy as people will let him sometimes and it often goes poorly because people underestimate his/our tolerance for spice. This place got it right, though! Our server even brought me a delicious milky sweet tea to tame the spice – super cute and nice of him! I feel like if I crave green curry, it’s this curry that I think about. And now I’m thinking about it and need to get to Chicago ASAP.

Probably the greatest Thai restaurant in Chicago. hands down in the northside area. The pad thai noodles are the best, either with chicken or shrimp. Pad see ew(I may be spelling it wrong) is sooo good also! I absolutely adore this restaurant and the people there provide a homey/comfortable atmosphere. Go here most definitely!

If you’re uptown definitely check this place out. Friendly staff and inexpensive food. Ordered the pad thai with tofu/shrimp, sea food rolls & the veggie spring rolls. My friend who doesn’t eat meat, and did not want tofu was kindly accommodated with an egg/veggie pad thai plate. Our food was served nice and hot in about 15 minutes, and our water was constantly refilled. This Is huge to me considering that it was getting pretty busy and there was one waiter for bout 5 – 6 tables. Everything was good except for the spring rolls, they were a bit different in taste than what I am used to. The rolls come with a plum sauce that is on the sweet and tangy side. The flavor threw me off a little, It wasn’t completely terrible just would’ve preferred a peanut sauce instead.

I tried other type places in Chicago but I think this is the best one I’ve ever had. First always start with the chicken dumplings and they are steamed to perfection and not blind just the right amount of Thai spices. Second order the beef fried rice spicy which has quite a bit of spice in it but not enough to make it inedible. Also order the pan beef fried noodles which are spicy but the flavor of beef comes out in a fantastic way.

Went here with my fiancé over the weekend. It was our first visit. It’s a pretty inexpensive spot, but overall we weren’t delighted. The crab rangoon– I give them a solid A. They were clearly homemade and were fresh but not too heavy. The Panang Curry– No vegetables whatsoever, just sauce, rice, and chicken, which was a disappointment. The chicken was overcooked and not very flavorful. It was fine, but I give it a solid B– because it really just was ok. My fiancé had the bbq pork with rice. It was overcooked again and didn’t taste like it was bbq cooked in any way. It was just Meh. So I give it a B-. Thai iced tea was not like others that I have had. It was insanely sweet, and made with black tea that was pretty weak. It was ok since it was a hot day and I was thirsty, but not something I’d get again. I’m stuck between 2 and 3 stars and I’m giving a 3 because everyone else gave very high reviews so maybe I just caught them on an off day.

As I explore more of the uptown scene, Siam Café came highly recommended. I had the Pad See Ew and my partner had the Pad Thai. So we went into the place at 2pm on a Saturday and it was empty. That didn’t seem like a good sign, but from what I can tell, most of their daytime business is takeout and delivery as quite a few people walked in behind us and left. Service: Top notch. Very attentive. The manager even suggested how to best heat up our leftovers as we were leaving. Food: I probably would have given my meal 3 stars, however my gf thought it was 4 stars and said her own was 5. I thought my pad see ew lacked flavor, however her view was that they got it right without drenching it in high sodium sauces. So there you go. All that being said, I will def go back and try other dishes.

This used to be one of my favorite Thai spots. I picked up takeout for dinner and I get barely midway filled containers of food!?! This is the 2nd time it has happened!?! Never again! I feel cheated!

The Basil Duck and Beef Fried Rice is what needs to be ordered here! Thank me later!!! The duck was quite tender and juicy over white rice Delivery took no time as they got me these good eats in less than 30 mins… helps that I do not live too far from the joint! Not expensive!

Excellent, authentic Thai food with friendly staff and super quick kitchen service. Our must haves are dry duck soup, chicken pad thai, and penang curry beef. Today we also got tod mun and basil chicken. Their beef pad see eew, fried tofu, and Thai iced coffee are very good also. Closed on Mondays. Street parking difficult at times. Don’t need to pay for street parking on Sundays. Lock up your car and don’t leave valuables in plain view.

My ONLY go to place for REAL Thai food in Chicago.(and I’m Thai). My parents used to take me here all the time when I was a kid and over the 20 years since then, nothing much has changed here since the early 90s. Still great home-style Thai food. Do I come here for Pad Thai and Pad See Eew and the typical dishes served at Thai places in America? No. They’re solid and better than a lot of places around town, don’t get me wrong. But I come here mostly for the Isaan menu: Som Tam, Larb, Nam Tok, Deep-fried chicken, and sticky rice. And for the Tom Yum, fresh spring rolls, fried tofu, Tod Mun, Kao Mun Kai(honestly, how many places around here have that on their menu??!), the list could go on and on. You can get any of the noodle soups without broth. You can also order almost all of the rice dishes as family-style too. Guys, this is real and authentic Thai food. Amazing prices and portions, good service, easy street parking, and plenty of options so you never get bored of this place.
