RIP, Scoop. I came here for the store closing sale last weekend. Walked out with a perfect Eugenia Kim hat and an off-the-shoulder blouse by Rebecca Taylor. I wish I would have known about this location before its closure. Apparently all of the Scoop NYC outposts are closing which is disappointing as I remember the chain well from my days in Soho. I can only hope that a worthwhile successor takes its place, as this is a prime shopping stretch of the Gold Coast.

Extremely helpful and professional staff working there, they assisted me for a while and helped me pick a great gift for my wife. Not only is the selection really good and stylish, but there’s a great sushi place you can get to upstairs!

Walked in to what looked like a Cambodian sweatshop with a bunch of starving salespeople who couldn’t speak English. When I went upstairs I had a handful of items I was ready to just purchase and some questions about shoes there was no one to be found. When I made my way back downstairs I stood at the register with my items just long enough that after I was still being ignored I decided to leave. I reflected on what I was wearing and what made the staff so resistant to helping me. I get my Saint Laurent jacket was a from last season and that Lanvin sneakers were pretty scuffed, but cut me some slack, I’m a California boy. Get it together, guys, you’re not recession proof.

Buyer Beware!!! Before purchasing anything from this location, please inspect the condition of the clothing very carefully. I purchased something and it did not fit. I had my receipt, it was within the 14 day return period and they would not take it back. They showed me two small stains, one on the label and one near the collar. Unfortunately, I did not notice these stains at the time of purchase. They claim that they would never sell merchandise that was damaged. How many times have you brought something home and found a stain, a snag, a button missing, etc. The Manager told me to take it and have it dry cleaned. I told her again it didn’t fit! Why did’t they just take the item back, dry clean it and resell it??? No, instead they made me keep an item that didn’t fit that has stains on it that I didn’t cause!!! Great customer service!!! Beware!!!

I have long been a fan of the Scoop NYC stores ever since I stumbled across them in New York. There is also a location in bucktown but I can’t say enough good things about the newer Rush Street location. Aside from being one of the most gorgeous stores in that area, the people are very friendly and helpful. I never felt pushed to buy items I didn’t like, and they even took the time to pull some items out of the back that they thought I would like. Whenever I come here I feel like I am browsing through someones(insane) personal closet– the only difference is I am able to take the clothes home with me. There is not one ugly thing in the store: clothing or attitude. Love them!
