Love this place. Lovely atmosphere, smooth delicious espresso, and killer scones. I have a sweet tooth so the toffee and chocolate scones are my favs. Service is always kind and friendly like they’re genuinely happy to help. Thumbs up all the way around.

Love the scones I have tried so far — Triple chocolate chip, cinnamon chip and toffee chocolate(?). What I wasn’t expecting was that they serve the best espresso I have ever had and it’s consistently great. They serve half wit and the are clearly very serious about it, with scales, timers, etc.

This place has become my regular breakfast /coffee spot. The scones are always fresh, flavorful, and have actual fruit(the blueberry with lemon glaze is my #1, followed by the cranberry orange) and, like, real ingredients — nothing like those dry bricks with whatever mysterious stuff that you find at most places. The coffee is AWESOME(same price as intelligentsia across the street, but superior in my opinion) — really nice lattes. The spiced cider is also really good. The team there is welcoming and gracious — once I was trying to decide between two scones and they gave me one of them for free so I could try it. The owner is there a lot and really great. 100% recommend.

This place reminds me of my coffee spot that used to make scones as well that missed and was one of the few places that I was a regular at. I actually told the staff member there. She was the nice one while the others seemed a bit more serious and not as smiley. I had to get two — one sweet and one savory so that I wouldn’t question what I might have missed out on. Both were very good and it just depends on what you are in the mood for. There are so many awesome options I had a hard time choosing, and the staff member there was really helpful with the blackberry recommendation. I am sure I’ll be back again, especially on the days that I can load up on carbs.

Stopped in Scone City on a Sunday morning for some breakfast. This is a great place to hang out for a while and enjoy some scones and a cup of coffee. There’s plenty of tables, chairs and bar space to accommodate lots of guests. They have a great selection of sweet and savory scones that’ll make your decision difficult. I went with a breakfast scone and a chocolate toffee scone. Both had a great consistency(thick but still soft) and tasted delicious. I’m not a coffee drinker so I ordered some of their spiced apple cider. Really good! The perfect compliment to my scones on a chilly October morning. I wish I lived down the street so I could pick up scones on my way to work! I definitely recommend stopping in at Scone City.

Sadly, I live right down the block from Scone City. It tempts me every time I walk out my door. These scones are so amazing that it’s hard not to eat one every single day even though I know that is a delicious path to weighing 500 lbs. The scones are soft, filled with flavor and overall the best scones I have ever tried. I love the occasional special flavors — if you ever see a s’mores scone there, definitely indulge. Also, the cold brew coffee on tap is pretty great. And as an added bonus, the shop is super cute and the scone folks(especially the owner) are always friendly.

Got here late in the afternoon so a lot of the scone choices were sold out. Still I was excited to try some! The staff was nice but definitely seemed more interested in talking to each other than to customers. Though the one girl was able to answer any questions h had about choices. My cherry almond scone was fantastic! I got clotted creAm and strawberry jam so I could try it with both and can’t decide witch way I like it better. But I love the English breakfast one even better! It’s so good I could dozens of them. I want to come back here everyday and try different flavors But I don’t really record the coffee. One it’s super strong and even with soy milk and spends it was a little hard to get down. Crazy! It’s coffee… Also the ‘large’ was little. I could have easily gotten double the coffee for the same price at dunkin donuts. But the guy did say he’d top off the coffee if I wanted more. So I guess that’s good. Overall I look forward to coming back. Happy it’s right on my way out to the convention center.

Solid scones with a nice consistency – dense and not too dry. Cinnamon chip: Loved how the cinnamon flavors were strong but not overwhelming. Very generous serving of cinnamon chips. Afternoon tea: A little sweet, but perhaps my favorite of the sweet scones. The glaze was infused with a wonderful earl grey flavor; definitely tasted like the scone was dipped in earl grey. Also loved the touch of sweetness and added texture the golden raisins provided. Cherry almond: My least favorite by far. The cherry flavor tasted artificial, almost as if I were biting into a Tylenol flavored scone. Brie/honey/thyme(savory): Loved this scone and the strong thyme flavors throughout. Didn’t quite taste the honey, but didn’t really miss it. Buttermilk: Very typical buttermilk biscuit – perhaps would have tasted better with cream or jam. The afternoon tea and the brie/honey/thyme were the two clear standouts and would definitely be worth coming back for. Loved the unique flavors and looking forward to the next visit!

I adore this place. It’s so quiet and serene when I arrive early. The veggie breakfast scone and chocolate toffee are my favs. The cranberry orange gets high marks with an excellent tart/sweet balance. The cappuccino is great. Love the Hebru Brantley Flyboy art pieces! I’m usually there on my high carb days and it’s worth every. Single. Carb.

whoa! This place has some awesome homemade fresh scones. I ordered the healthy scone first which has a little brie and thyme on top but the scone itself has a wheat flavor… it’s delicious. The interior is very modern and fresh looking with WiFi access. I’d come here to enjoy my newspaper and coffee any day. My friend ordered the Blueberry lemon icing Scone– it looks really good too. I recommend Scone City especially of you are looking for something a little different. Just don’t tell too many people about it as this place is a hidden gem! Actually as I write this they are almost out of scones… oh no!

GREAT scones… my favorites are the buttermilk, the triple chocolate and the lemon blueberry! The coffee is tasty too and the little patio is perfect! We go at least twice a week and will continue to come here… so excited to have it in the neighborhood! :)

I wasn’t too impressed with Scone City. The scones are just all right. They were a bit too doughy tasting for me. Also when I got there there they had a bunch of scones that were unavailable :(I absolutely adore scones so I was so so so excited about this place but it did not live up to my expectations at all. Also, the guy at the counter didn’t ask me if I wanted any condiments like lemon curd or the clotted cream! I was all prepared to get clotted cream but then when I went to pay he just gave me my total amount. Huge bummer The space inside is gorgeous however. Lots of light.

I thought for sure I had already written a review but I haven’t. I think it’s risky to open a place that sells one thing but Scone City is pretty special. I’ve already been there 3 or 4 times and I love their scones. The first time the selection was limited so the next time I ordered ahead and they were very accommodating. Right now my favorite is the cranberry and orange scone but that will probably change. Don’t forget the clotted cream, lemon curd and jam.

seriously amazing! friends brought me here over memorial day weekend and we went a little crazy ordering scones. tried the orange blackberry, lemon blueberry, tea and raisin, meatless breakfast and brie thyme and honey. All were amazing and the texture of the scones was perfect. For about $ 4 you definitely get a solid breakfast or snack, the scones were decently large in size and were filling. the blueberry and blackberry scones were sweet but overly so. The glaze was very strong and contained the citrus zest, delicious. The tea and raisin was subtle but delicious. definitely a unique flavor and the lightest one we tried but it was still so good. the meatless breakfast and brie/thyme/honey scones were filling and could definitely stand in for a breakfast sandwich. Both were hearty and tasty. I would recommend the brie thyme and honey one but they were all so good! my dog loved the puppy scone too.

Have been to Scone City many times now since they opened. I have to say, I’m a fan. The first visit was only after they were in business on Division for a few days and I’m happy to see they’ve gotten over some of those initial bumps. I love scones and theirs have so far not disappointed. I’ve tried the plain buttermilk one and various fruit ones with the cherry almond being my favorite. I haven’t actually had the savory ones so can’t speak to those. Employees are very friendly, even bringing your drink order to your table if it’s something a little more complicated(in my case, that’s simply the hot tea needing to brew for a bit). I looooove the décor, especially the hand stenciled wooden floors. The vibe very much feels like hanging out at your slightly fancy friend’s living room, ha. There are several tables and free wifi. Location is very convenient, especially if you’re on your way to the blue line. I haven’t yet seen outdoor seating, but I have heard that there will be some out front on the sidewalk. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because I wish there was a wider scone selection. With a name like Scone City, I expect A LOT more scone variety every day. But I’m also a scone fiend and can never get enough!

Simple and good! I like the variety of sweet and savory scones. We tried the cranberry orange and the lemon blueberry and two vanilla bean lattes. All delicious! The place was packed on an early Sunday morning with lots of families. Cute décor and nice employees! Can’t wait to come back :)

All scones, all the time. Everyone knows scones can be hit or miss. Often they’re too dry, crumbly, or dense. If you think you don’t like scones, then I urge you to give Scone City a try. They just may change your mind. SC has several different varieties of both sweet and savory scones, as well as gluten-free.This past visit I tried four different kinds: blueberry-lemon, blackberry-orange, buttermilk, and cranberry-orange. I also added a side of housemade lemon curd to slather over everything. I can’t get over how much I enjoyed all these scones, in particular the lemon-blueberry. It was probably the best scone I’ve ever had. Almost overflowing with plump, sweet berries, the tart lemon was a great foil; I can think of few flavor combinations as satisfying as lemon and blueberry. Really, they were all great though. The buttermilk at first seemed kind of boring, like a sweet biscuit, but once I spread the delightful lemon curd on it, it was perfect. This scone may seem like a Plain Jane, but it’s the perfect vehicle for anything like jam, clotted cream, or the aforementioned lemon curd. Scone City offers all of these additions for a slight upcharge. Brilliance. Naturally they also sell tea and brew Half-Wit coffee to go with your scones. I can’t wait to come back and try the savory options, but I will never be able to pass up a lemon-blueberry. Bonus: they sell scones for man’s best friend. Scones for everybody!

I just found my new favorite hangout place and we should all thank our lucky stars that it’s a very short walk from the Division blue line stop. As you can guess from the name, Scone City sells scones. They had a modest variety of mostly sweet with one savory option available when I stopped by earlier today. They also have gluten-free options, which is great for those of you who don’t eat gluten! The first thing I noticed was the unique, hip yet charming, slightly understated décor. You’ll be sure to feel at ease and comfortable in this easy-on-the-eyes space. I got the blueberry lemon glazed scone with the lemon curd add-on and my boyfriend got the savory breakfast scone. We got them«for here» so we could check out the seating options and take in more of the décor. The staff were both very friendly and helpful(there were three of them working). One offered us water, which came with little ice cubes in mason jars. What a cute touch! For you coffee drinkers out there, Scone City brews Half Wit Coffee. There was seating by a counter near the register and by the windows. Then, if you go up a few steps into an upstairs loft-type area, there’s more seating. You can choose from a few different seating setups, including two-person tables and comfy purple chairs next to a trendy painting. We decided to enjoy our scones from the comfy chairs. My blueberry lemon glazed scone was absolute perfection. The blueberries were bountiful and the lemon taste was so fresh. My scone wasn’t dry at all, which is an issue I have had with scones in the past. Clearly Scone City has got it figured out! My scone was the perfect combination of crumbly and moist. The lemon curd really popped and added a sweetness that is an absolute must when you order the blueberry lemon scone. My boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast biscuit, though he noted it tasted more like a regular savory biscuit. The sweet biscuits seem to be the star of the show, at least from what we tried. I noticed on the menu that there’s a brie, honey, and thyme savory scone option, so that’s something I’ll absolutely have to be back to try! Their scone selections vary based on the day, so not all of the scones listed on their menu are always available. That’s A-OK by me because I would rather there be a smaller selection to ensure everything is made fresh. I can’t wait to come back here to try more! A scone and a mug of coffee or tea sound like the perfect way to start a morning or to enjoy while typing away at my laptop in one of their comfy, cozy chairs. Note: Their wifi username and password information is prominently displayed when you check out.
