I remember Sbarro’s used to be placed in big open food courts in malls(and the one in Oglivie Station is still this way). There was a lovely smell that would emit from them that told the patron that this was finer than most fast food. This was almost a sit down restaurant; but one with more reheating. I think there’s a very good reason this Sbarro is in a basement. It kind of stinks! Not in the physical sense but as far as service and quality went it does not live up to the exacting(well at least for fast food) standards of most other locations. I got some ziti that looked like a child regurgitated macaroni and cheese. Though, sadly, I thought it tasted alright. However, despite its lack of quality, It still has that«I’m slighter higher quality than the rest and therefore higher» price scheme of most Sbarros. So there’s two negatives right there. Oh, and the dreaded third strike? The employees didn’t know how to work the registers. I got stuck behind a person using a debit card while the hapless cashiers tried to put it in as a credit card! I don’t think my hangover today was from the Unilocal event I went to yesterday. I think it’s from the Sbarro I had before.

I love sbarro, but the slices I had from this location were horrible. Way, way overcooked. I will walk the 10 blocks down to the state and lake location to get a decent slice. If you are a sbarro fan and dying and this pizza is the only thing that can save you… crawl the distance to another location!!! you can do it!!!

Why do I make this mistake? This place wasn’t good when I was 10 and it still sucks now. I’ll cut to the chase: Point A) The pizza doesn’t taste good. Point B) The pizza is friggin expensive. About the only thing this place has going for it, is how good the pizza looks. Unfortunately the appearance is inversely proportional to the taste. One normal mushroom slice was $ 3.39. One stuffed slice was $ 4.09. With no drink, my bill for two slices of oven-baked mediocrity was $ 8.25. I hope this place gets turned into a gross Panda Express.

Whenever I see a Sbarro, I think of that«Office»(the US version) episode where Michael is New York and points out Sbarro in Times Square as his favorite authentic NY slice place. Hilarious. Apt.

Decent pizza place — but I have my personal favorites since Chicago is a pizza town. It’s usually packed and busy around lunchtime.

If, seemingly everywhere you turn, you can find a fantastic independent pizzeria making the phenomenal deep-dish pies for which the city is famous, why are you eating in a mediocre chain like Sbarro’s?

I have never seen such a crowded pizza restaurant. The place is always packed with customers! It’s always so noisy in here as the order numbers are yelled out and customers wait around for their food. I would suggest going to another Sbarro nearby; there are many of them in Chicago.
