Their hours are 11−4pm on Saturdays. Showed up at 12:30pm today for lunch and they were still closed.

Terrible service. It’s a chore for these guys/gals to serve you. Very expensive for what you get — they up charge you for everything. Phở and banh mi aren’t authentic. The only reason I come here is for convenience.

I have eaten here several times. Overall it convenient and better alternative than fried food. This establishment honors the Unilocal checkin offer. I usually purchase the caramelized chicken with noodles. Out of everything they have to offer that dish is pretty decent. I recently tried the matcha tea and it was nothing to get excited about. You are better off finding another place that serves bubble tea. Please do not go out of your way to eat here. The inside is pretty small compared to other restaurants nearby. During lunch rush it is usually crowded with people waiting to pickup their orders.

The daikon and ham in my banh mi sandwhich were frozen. I understand wanting to have fresh ingrediants, but buy enough for the day. Or at least fully thaw out your ingrediants for a sandwhich that is 8 dollars.

Came here on a lunch break at 1 pm on a Friday. There is bar style seating in the restaurant, but with chairs instead of stools. Nice window view of city streets and northwestern campus. Music inside is percussive upbeat and good for focusing if you’re alone and wanting to read or get work done. Service was mixed. The woman who took my order and put the Togo bag together was ornery and hipsterish. They forgot my phở packet of bean sprouts, jalapeños, basil, lime slice, but were quick to give me one apologize after I asked for it. Spring rolls are pre-made to grab and go, they also have an assortment of interesting drinks, chips and sweets. Portion sizes are good except for spring rolls which seem like a small amount for the price, so I skipped them. Phở had plenty of noodles, but was sparse on meat and the broth needed sprucing up. Luckily there was a chili and soy sauce bar with handy Togo cups so I did what I could. Side of noodles was hot!!! I asked for standard side and didn’t request hot. Whoa! I mean this was ridiculous. After a few bites my mouth was burning and I was sweating like crazy. It pretty much had to be tossed. Overall, this was a very disappointing $ 15 spent. The only reason they got two stars is the upbeat décor and that some of the staff were just really nice

Their baos are a great snack or a few make for a hearty lunch!

I stopped by for lunch and tried the caramelized shrimp. After dishing out ~$ 12, I had fairly decent expectations that unfortunately just were not met. I don’t eat rice, so I had requested extra veggies and received 5 shrimp with a few slices of cucumbers. Although tasty, I could not believe the portion size to price ratio. With the other options at NMH, I don’t see myself stopping by again.

Ordered some beef phở at the Northwestern location. After what seemed like an eternity for the phở to cool down, I was able to dive in. Very little broth to noodle ratio. Beef was ample enough, but had lost almost all of its flavor. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t as good as it could have been. The place has the potential to be much more. After a while, the scent of the leftover, covered phở permeated the room and made me a little bit nauseated so I had to pitch it down the hall. I may stop by for a Bah Mi at some point, but probably not soon.

Went here for a quick lunch during work. Very overpriced for Vietnamese food. The bahn mi sandwich was small and forgettable — very little flavor. Try Lotus Café next time — huge difference in quality, price, and portion size.

Tasty food even tho not authentic. Staff is extremely nice and caring. However even being a small Asian I feel like they could have served more portion. I need to fill myself one bowl of phở plus 2 buns to feel full. Overall good dining experience.

I ordered through Fooda, which went seamlessly and was delivered on time at an acceptable temperature. I ordered the caramelized chicken with noodles and added peanut sauce. I thought the food was okay — the noodles were good and the portion felt right. There weren’t many vegetables, and they weren’t particularly good either. The chicken was pretty poor quality and was definitely not carmelized as advertised. The savior of the dish was the peanut sauce(+$.50). I thought it was excellent and it went really well with everything else in the dish. Giving this place a generous 4 stars.

Ordered delivery from this restaurant and was definitely satisfied. The phở was individually packed so that ingredients stayed fresh, and the meat dish with rice was perfectly seasoned and delicious. They estimated about 45 minutes or so for delivery, but they arrived even sooner than expected. I haven’t eaten in the restaurant, but judging from just the quality of the food, I would definitely check it out.

Don’t expect good service. Don’t expect any explanations on menu items. Maybe It’s efficient as long as you know what the hell you are ordering and you can hear over the bongo music playing over the speakers. Not a fan.

I have gotten lunch here dozens of times and really have enjoyed the food. Really am appalled by the unfriendly service by the staff. Making eye contact while taking money is the least one could do. It appears that doing one’s job is disdainful to this staff. Where is the management in all this?

In the last couple month’s I’d been spending a lot of time here on the Northwestern hospital campus and getting to know their eateries was becoming a daily routine. I hadn’t heard much from word of mouth and their varied reviews weren’t as enticing. Then one day while trekking between buildings a few of the Galter center eateries were showcasing their fare in an adjacent dining area. Atop a display table I saw multiple cans of Café Du Monde coffee and was intrigued.(A New Orleans fan favorite) Came to find out that Saigon Sisters uses this coffee type to create their Vietnamese Iced coffee. Upon this discovery I decided to check them out. Their menu pricing is a tad high compared to Vietnamese food found anywhere else in Chicago. But look at where they’re located. I decided to try a trio of banh bao’s(open faced steamed buns filled with seasoned ingredients.) If they served a trio with a small salad, it’d be a decent meal that fills the belly. I got the Wagyu beef, Hoisin glazed pork belly and Teriyaki tofu(don’t ask why). The first two were savory, flavorful and my tongue had desired more. The last one, tofu, was tofu. Another eatery located some yardage away also offers baos but filled with sushi and is only offered in a pair with a tiny seaweed side salad(and at times they run out, so at $ 8.95 for two, this is the better deal. Sometimes they might sub if the salad is out, but still, the trio is the better deal.) Since I was«20 questions» about using Café Du Monde, I was offered a free sample of the iced coffee. I’ve only ever had it piping hot and on location in Nola, so this was a tasty different method. If you like a sweeter iced coffee, it might be worth a try.

I got the roast beef phở and a side of «just noodles» here after a doctor’s appointment. I knew there would be a high price tag since it is located in the hospital. What I wasn’t expecting was the skimpy portions. As some of the other reviewers on here mentioned, the phở soup only fills up about half of the bowl. It is mostly noodles and lacking in the meat department. For the $ 9 price tag, I would have been happy if they just put a little more broth in. The extra ingredients(bean sprouts, jalapeños, and one basil leaf) are very sparse. The«just noodles» were utterly tasteless. I asked for fish sauce and soy sauce to give them flavor. I definitely wouldn’t order the noodles again for $ 5. I will probably return since the options at the hospital are limited with no cafeteria, but I would not order the noodle dishes!

Only tried their shrimp spring roll. It comes with 3 rolls about 4 inches each. Not alot of ingredients. A bit small for the price. It comes with the peanut butter sauce. Update: Tried the Wagyu beef banh bao. It was quite delicious with the Viet BBQ sauce. Stayed to eat, environment is pretty good.

I had the classic Bahn mi today and will tell you it far from being classic. It was very salty or briney tasting. The pâté was liquidy. The only good thing about it was the bread. On another trip I decided to give their pork belly rice bowl a try again and yet still disappointed. The whole dish was fairly cold and the rice mushy. They sold me on a carmelized egg that was really disguised as a normal boiled egg. I think I’ll just stick to my trips to Argyle to get my fix.

Feelin’ cold, get some phở. Grab a banh mi, bao, a bowl. Salads and spring rolls, Saigon Sista, food for da soul! I cannot tell you how long I’ve been waiting for its frosted glass doors to open, and after this morning, I am a fan! FINALLY– a place that serves congee in the mornings. What is congee? It is a soupy, rice porridge. Call it the asian oatmeal. SS tops it with pork, chinese sausage, egg, ginger and scallions. For $ 6, you’re paying double for half the portion. But it’s a decent start to the mornings. If you’re not feeling too adventurous, they’ve got vietnamese coffee and macarons. Yes, macarons. Lovely. Saigon will be my go-to-dinner-for-breakfast spot. Find me unabashedly working my way through their menu in the mornings. Just today, I scarfed down their classic banh mi. Pâté, where have you been all my life? Fabulous.
