The food was good, but they were all over the place. I came here for dinner with two other friends and ordered stuff avocados, 2 miso soups and a ginger side salad to start off. We received the soups within 2 minutes, but the side salad took 15 – 20 minutes to prepare… Taking the amount of time it did to get this salad out, you’d think it was good, or barely decent, but it wasn’t. The ginger dressing had an odd color and my friend wasn’t feeling it since it also tasted funny so she kindly asked them to change it out for soup instead, which they honored. We ordered sushi rolls, the dragon and their chef’s special. Really, really good. We were having good conversation that after finishing the sushi we realized they didn’t bring out the stuffed avocados. Our waitress came back and tried to tell us something about how long they take to prepare — which would’ve been good to know at the time of ordering. Either way she said we can have it on the house. Then we asked them to just take out cards and split the bill. Simple request. They had our cards for 15 minutes because they calculated something wrong so there was 3 charges on my card since it must not have been as simple as we thought it’d be. Overall good food, but get it together please.

The price is decent and they’re friendly in the store. The first time we ate here everything was good. Recently I placed a to go order and the veggies just didn’t taste right. I’ll probably go back because I’m so close, hopefully it improves.

My family and I decided to eat dinner here since it didn’t seem crowded like the other restaurants on the block. We ordered 3 combo plates of sushi and 2 rice bowls. The rice bowls came out a decent amount of time but the sushi on the other hand came out more than 30 minutes after. I ordered first and ended up getting my food last. Everyone in my table was done eating and I was still waiting for my food. Service was really slow. I had to flag down our waiter for water since he wasn’t refilling our cups.

This place fell off! Used to be my favorite spot. We used to get the beef bowl and some rolls but now it just isn’t the same quality anymore. What’s more disappointing is there service is horrible now and also the management, especially when the owner has served us twice and doesn’t want to pay a server or two. Very slow and bad management! A server doesn’t cost much to pay as a business owner, the law is $ 4.95 i think. I guess she(owner) wants the tips too.

One of the best sushi restaurants in Chicago. We used to go to Tokyo Marina for ages and I was worried I wouldn’t find something as good after they closed down. Well, I sure did find something as good if not better. Great Place!!!

Try the MANGOTANGO! It is so different from all my sushi experiences but very amazing as well! They have great Special rolls although they are a bit overpriced– the quality of the food is great! The layout of the store is a bit random but it is a good place for sushi!

Very good neighborhood sushi place. Prices are fair. Menu variety is good. Service is nothing to complain about, and never had an issue getting a seat. I would say the quality is slightly higher than the Sushi Tokoro(the all you can eat place up the street) but the price points are also slightly higher(using my unscientific lens of comparing an a la carte menu to an all you can eat place). Would def recommend for a quick bite on a weeknight. Note: BYOB.

It’s nice that Rolls N Bowls has 2 locations. I usually go to the one in Lincoln square because it’s newer. The foo is usually good and the service is decent. I love getting the udon or ramen followed by a few rolls. I love spicy foods and they have a fire roll combo that I usually get.

I will still eat here because it is absolutely awesome. Ordered pickup via Unilocal and had to wait 40 mins because«guys came in late». Hostess was very rude and suggested I cancel my order when all I asked was«will it be ready soon?» UPDATE Actually the food was horrible as it was obviously done in a rush. I am an absolute sushi addict so won’t need to come here any longer. This place is fun for BYOB and rolls but I’d stay away from the Chicken Teriyaki. Seriously people, go for the rolls, just don’t order take out. EXTRAUPDATE: I ordered via GrubHub for pickup. It took my order at 10h45 and told me pickup was 11:10. Apparently GrubHub and this restaurant need to work out their arrangement as all of this could have been avoided.(Hey I’m just a GrubHub client ya know?)

The food here is excellent, but the service is very slow, and this seems to have gotten worse over time. If you’re not in a rush & have nowhere to be, then this is a good lunch or dinner spot. However, don’t think this is a good spot to grab a quick bite before a movie at the Davis or a concert at Old Town School because you will likely miss the beginning of your show.

This applies to delivery only. I ordered Tekka Don and bibm bop from here last night using the Unilocal app. This is some of the BEST take out I’ve had in awhile. The Tekka Don was a substantial portion, beautifully cut, delicious! The bibm bop was spectacular — and again, a huge portion. Definitely now at the top of my list for great sashimi & Korean!

A little pricey and the service wasn’t too great but the food was amazing. We ordered the kalbi short ribs and a couple rolls of sushi. Kalbi was cooked perfectly and the rolls were well made with quality fish.

This is one of my go-to sushi spots. I’ve ordered delivery, take out, and have eaten in, all with positive experiences. The service is always fast and the staff is very friendly. I usually get sushi here. I love that the sushi menu has so many different rolls and options; there always seems to be something new to try and I haven’t really had a bad one yet. Some of my favorites are the white dragon, crunch, uncle and emergency. The ramen and appetizers are pretty tasty as well. I recommend the asparagus beef — so good! I’ve also ordered from their location farther north on Lincoln and have been pleased with the experience.

Blegh. I ordered lunch here at 3:30 and was quoted 45 mins to an hour for delivery. It was about 15 mins after my quoted time it arrived. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl, edamame, and spicy California rolls. Chicken was extremely thin, overcooked, and just meh. There wasn’t very much sauce on top of the chicken and rice either. I was told there were vegetables in it as well and there was one piece of broccoli, one piece of cauliflower, one slice of carrot, and a very minimal amount of onions and cabbage. I would’ve asked for a side of veggies if I knew such a small amount came with it. The rolls were ok. It wasn’t completely terrible but I definitely won’t ordering from here again.

Going on 50 mins waiting for my food. I’m giving it 5 mins more, than I walking out. This is ridiculous

Ordered delivery from here twice, and got sushi — absolutely great! I have had experience at a few sushi places in the city, I would definitely recommend this place. The price is also on par with the quality. I also had the spicy ramen with chicken — highly recommend this. Very tasty! Plenty of flavor and plenty to fill you up!

Sushi Heaven! Many places in Lincoln Square are closed on Monday, so I was happy that this restaurant was open. Very big and clean. The sushi was amazing. My friend and I enjoyed ourself. It was freezing outside, so the tea warmed us up!

I love this place. Mellow, easy to bring the kids and super tasty. I usually get the shirashi bowl. Tonight tried the bi bim bop and the sauce was nice and spicy. Husband got spicy ramen and he liked it too. Kids will get the veggie rolls. Nice service every time.

I’m a huge fan of their original location(just a bit further north at 5501 N Lincoln), and this new location is another winner. First, let me begin by saying that the service is top notch. I called late Friday night to make a reservation for a rather large group the very next day. No problem. We arrived a bit early and they promptly had us seated and ready with wine glasses(this one’s BYOB too!) and a gigantic ice-filled tub for the 6 bottles of wine and multiple 6-packs of beer we brought(we party hard). Half of our party was stuck in traffic and arrived about an hour after we did, but this was no problem at all. They suggested some apps, which were brought out very quickly, for us to munch on while we waited. We started off our order with a few custom rolls. A friend told the waitress the type of flavor profiles he liked and she offered up some suggestions and they were OUTOFTHISWORLD! I have to say, if you go here you MUST order super white tuna nigiri with a bit of jalapeño carefully placed on top. The clean, fresh, buttery taste of the fish was enhanced by the slight spiciness of the pepper and .MIND. Our friends arrived and ordered about a million other rolls, all of which were promptly shuttled out of the kitchen and into our tummies. We laughed and talked with the server, she was just wonderful. The entire experience was great… so great, in fact, that we stayed about 45 minutes after closing time(I hate doing that, but we just lost track of time). Not once did they suggest we leave or mention that they closed, super accommodating, thoughtful, and pretty easy-going. All were impressed with the quality of the sushi, wonderful service, and great price(came out to about $ 25/person for a boat load of food). I’m so happy that Rolls N Bowls is doing well enough to open a second location, and am THRILLED that it’s as amazing as the original. In my most serious Arnold Schwarzenegger/Terminator voice: «I’ll be back» ;)
