What got on my nerves about the place is their inability to schedule a proper appointment and hire enough workers. Upon arrival for my appointment, there was no one available to service me. I asked how much longer and they kept telling me five minutes. The other customers waiting said they were told the same thing twenty minutes ago. So not only did they fail to service my appointment. They also lied to me along with the other customers completely disregarding others having work and trips to make.

I will never ever return. The four times I have attended this place I have gotten a gel full set with no chip, sometimes with an eyebrow wax. I always tip $ 15 – 20. The establishment allows you to pay with credit card but I am always told I have to pay with cash even though other patrons use cards while I am getting serviced. The salon also often ask that I pay before I am finished but does not ask the same of everyone else. I am an African American young woman who recently moved into the neighborhood and I strongly believe my treatment has been racially motivated. Will never ever return.

Hands down, the BEST Mani/​pedi I have ever received, and at such an affordable price! I’m so glad that I have discovered this place, so close to my house. Very clean and spacious place!

HAD good expectations of this place… Got a pedi and no-​chip mani both jobs very sloppy, the man that did my pedi scratch the side of my foot and left my foot very irritated, (I told him as soon as he was done, all he said was «ohhh yeah»), had to color my toes twice because the nail polish was uneven and a second person had to fix my nail because he cut them uneven. My nails were done by someone else who stop after he cut the side of my thumb with the nail filer and ended with yet another person who did a horrible job. Color was very uneven, some nails shorter than the other… Overall the job was horrible and really bad experience for the price paid $ 60, it’s just not worth it…

This place is where I usually do my nails. Everyone is really nice. I love how they do my eyebrows and my manicure and pedicure.

I don’t know about the bad reviews on here or if it was from previous owners but this nail salon is great in my book, I have been coming here for awhile. The owner Helen and her staff are very nice, they always greet you when you come in and service is always great. I usually get the mani/​pedi combo and eyebrows, they have a nice selection of colors and it last a long time. The salon is very clean and well kept, it is usually quiet, good for relaxing or a quick nap lol. There is a lady that does massages, maybe one day I’ll treat myself and try it but I recommend this salon if you want clean, friendly service.

Ladies please never go to this nail salon, they do a really bad job. I give this place no stars because I went a week ago and my nails are breaking and the no chip is shipping. Never again would I go to this cheap ass place.

Ever since Helen became the owner, Rachel’s have my been my #1 spot! I love how they do my nails and especially my eyebrows. I don’t have a complaint yet. Before Rachel’s got a new owner, they were horrible, bad service, but now, they’re great :) I will continue going to Rachel’s.

First and foremost, this is probably the cleanest nail salon I’ve seen ever! Helen the owner is super sweet and so is the rest of her staff. I love coming here especially with my six year old daughter. They treat us very well! As far as the service; I have had no chip nails, gel full and fill-​ins, pedicure, eyebrows and facial and I can assure I have been very happy with everything. My fill-​ins do not not look like fill-​ins they always look as though I got a fresh new set. I constantly get compliments about my hands, feet and eyebrows. I will Continue to come here. Would recommend it!

There are no recent reviews so I thought I should post. I have been living in the neighborhood for 3 years now, I think the ownership changed, & the bad reviews are from previous owners. I go in there at least once a month (up to 3 times per month) for a mani/​pedi, or just one, or a simple polish change. The polish selection is OK not great, sometimes I bring my own polish. They do a good job overall, the prices are really good, so you get what you pay for. I paid $ 15 for a manicure in Roscoe village & I wanted my nails filed perfectly, they weren’t. I have never seen anyone leave crying, & I do see a lot of people stop in to get their eyebrows done. The staff is very nice & sweet. I am a repeat customer! I am going in today for a mani pedi! Enjoy!
Update: I think they got some new colors! I got a cute pastel pink on my nails, I heard pastels are in!

If I could give this place a minus five star review I would. I just moved near by and checked it out. It’s very unorganized and the owner’s dog was inside and barked the entire time. But, the worst part was the manicure. The owner used the drill to file my nails. I was half awake and noticed and told her I am not getting fake nails applied and to stop. So, most of my nails are now filed down and thin. And I have to wait for my nails to grow out to be strong again. I’m debating going in to bitch this women out. But, she doesn’t speak English. Fuck this place.

Staff was nice. Unfortunately, that’s the only good thing about this place. My usual nail place (Jimmy Nails) was closed so I ended up here. Nail polish selection was limited (plenty of cheap quality nail polish but just a few OPI & Essie colors). Pedicure was fine but my manicure looks like a child did it. Polish all over my cuticles, uneven color, poor filing. I had to point out spots that were missed. There was no nail drying UV light, just a tiny plastic fan. Definitely NOT going back.

i got my eyebrows tattooed here; it looks pretty sketchy on the outside… and it doesn’t look that much better on the inside, but my eyebrows look awesome, and i don’t have hepatitis or anything. she was able to fix my old eyebrow tattoo, which was poorly done at Van’s Salon. all in all, it was a good experience. pricey, but worth it.
