The hot dogs I had were good. The fries were ok. It just drives me nuts that I am forced to buy a drink with my order. «All» orders come with a drink and fries. I don’t like it when places require you to get a so-called meal deal. So… from now on, if I know I don’t want a drink(which is almost always) or a fry(which is sometimes) then I know not to come here.

Clean, good prices, good food, friendly staff. The best fresh cut French fries I’ve had in a long time. On the down side, no seating at all, just a small ledge to stand and eat, and Styrofoam cups for soda.

Location has reopened under new management and I think it is better than before! The new owners cleaned up the place and are very nice! Menu has changed a bit with added items. Almost tried everything so far and no disappointment!

I been going to this hot dog stand since I was around five or six. My parents use to take me there after church on Sunday. I’d get the hot dog and fries and my parents would get the watermelon Italian ice. When got older I would get one for desert. I really wish SOMEBODY not going to mention any names would make the watermelon Italian ice this summer hint hint. I am 42 now. They treat me and my family like we are family. I’m extremely picky about my hot dogs how they taste. This is my favorite hot dog stand. It’s run by to for the best people. Thank you for all the years you’ve made me and my families dinning experience consistent and enjoyable.

I liked the hot dog meal with fries and a small drink because it was cheap. The customer service is ok. The hot dogs were small, and all bunched up with the greasy fries.

Love this place. Great milkshakes in the summer and a fantastic greasy chili dog year round. The place has history and the owners are really nice. Support our local businesses!

Fried hot polish with hot sauce and ketchup on the fry. Period! LOL The ice cream and italian ice is really good too.

Here’s the thing. Its a hot dog place, with a Italian ice place attached. Set your expectations accordingly. Would give 4 stars if the hot dogs were plumper and the Chicago style had everything except ketchup, not just mustard, relish, sport peppers & celery salt. They have a mofuckin, «French Fry Sandwich» in case you wanted to get super carbed up. Can I have a spaghetti shake with it?

sure its pretty obvious that their italian beef was procured from a mass food distributor… sure the au jus must be made from shitty beef bullion cubes… but hey, it at least seems like they attempted to make home-made giardiniera.(albiet 95% carrots and virtually flavorless) it was the most reasonably priced beef i’ve ever eaten, and also very similar to gov’t hospital food. i ordered a chicago dawg and cheese fries too because i’m a cow. much to my regret«chicago style» has only relish mustard and onion. this all upsets me to say as the staff was SUPER friendly however pathetically organized.

I’m not scared of a grimy hot dog place. Good thing too. This place is a little grimy. But the dog has a nice natural casing snap to it and that’s what I’m looking for. The hot dog special includes a skinny all beef hot dog on a poppy seed bun, a small fry and a VERY small drink. For $ 3.69 it’s a good deal. That being said, the soda is in a 12 oz. Styrofoam coffee cup and the the fries, while perfectly delicious, aren’t more than a child’s handful. On the cusp, but still a good deal. What I found a little disconcerting was the way the condiments were staged behind the counter. They were just sitting there, uncovered, in metal bowls. I’m no wilting flower but come on… would it kill you to slap a lid on those things between customers? Not bad. Not great. Don’t go out of your way but if you’re stuck in construction traffic on Western there’s no reason not to stop for a snack

Desire: «Icee»(slang for: Italian Ice) Location: Polk & Western Name: Polk & Western(very creative, indeed!) Restrictions: Cash only. Décor: Stark white, but clean. Flavors: About 30. Verdict: Excellent Iceeeeeeeeee. The raspberry/strawberry combo kept me totally chilled out, even in the presence of five or six preteen girls unhappy with just about… everything. Except, iceeeeeeee. True that.

Four devoted softball practicers need to be rewarded in some fashion, right? Oh, and the little cousin that apparently is our mascot(if mascots like to roll around in the sand and get as dirty as can be… seriously, we have our own little Pig Pen), we had to reward him for… well, you can’t get everyone else a treat and not the little kid who hangs around the entire time. It’s just not nice. So he got a treat too. They promise that there is an icee shop around the way, which is what the Coaches were craving(and what the coaches crave is what the girls get, especially if they are paying, y’hear?!) Not the cleanest shop, nor the nicest, nor is the best icee I have ever had, but a great assortment of ices at reasonable prices that are sure to quench your greatest summer thirst if you want something a bit more refreshing than your standard ice cream cone. Three larges and three smalls set us back a little over $ 15. Not bad at all for a taste of summer. I went with the strawberry cut with a little lemon and it was delicious. The girls raved over the lime. Everyone had sticky smiles afterwards. A good practice day, indeed, for our devoted Reds. Cash only.

A nice place to grab a hot dog special lunch or a late night snack. The dogs are a bit on the skinny side so if you have a hearty appetite I suggest grabbing two. You’ll find your sausage wrapped up with the fries which are also little skinny sticks of greasy heaven. You can come in here and be the only one ordering and then the next thing you know the place is filled with moms and their strollers, business men, cops and teens. There is really no place to eat your meal here so it’s best to grab your grease stained bag and eat on the go! Bonus points for having cherry RC on tap and being next to an Italian ice shop. Cash only, go figure
