I cannot believe this placed has closed. Their sandwiches were awesome! Such a nice corner shop in a great area. Can you re-open please? I would not mind a raise in prices. Everyone here was very friendly too. Such a great asset to the community!

I love this little café!!! The sandwiches are so cheap, the quality awesome. The bread is thin and crisp and somehow even the most simple sandwiches, like huevos con jamon, are delicious when they come out of this place. I like to drop by for breakfast sandwiches or a quick go-to. The empanadas are also very good but I wish there was a fresh/fried option, but what can ya do? Come try!!! Leaving to get some café con leche right now.

One of the best things about moving to my new pace is that this market/restaurant/coffeeshop/grocery store is a short walks away. Not only do I stop by here for my caffeine fix when I’m too lazy to make my own or run out but I frequent this place for delicious sandwiches. I’ve tried most of them and have enjoyed each and every single one of them. The Cubano tops the list and is a go to item for me. They give you this Garlic green sauce with a good kick to it along with the sandwiches. I douse my sandwiches in it every time. It’s amazing! The young man who has been working there since j started going has always been super friendly and nice. He obviously remembers me from my frequent visits but he’s always got a smile on his face. He makes a pretty mean latte as well. A+ location, come one come all!

Great Peruvian snacks, café con leche, free Wi-Fi, and an amazing staff. Glad to have this market in the neighborhood.

Amazing Peruvian empanadas, they have chicken, beef and spinach that comes with the best green salsa ever! Sandwiches are great too! Everything is fresh and the staff is very nice!

Cheap, delicious sandwiches. I had the Chepan– Peruvian style pork, lettuce, salsa criolla, mustard. Really friendly staff/owner. Offered me a free empanada to try, made in house, great flaky crust. I I’ll be back.

Their recent renovation brought us back in after many years — really cute with yummy sandwiches and empanadas. This will be regular spot for us now!

The spinach empanadas are delicious. Next time I’ll buy a dozen to take home! The hot sauce that came with them was tasty too. Definitely recommend if you’re in Logan/Avondale and want something cheap & simple. They also sell a few Peruvian groceries.

After a recent renovation, it’s roomy and clean in here. The sandwiches are great. And the staff extremely friendly. I’ll definitely be back. A terrific addition to the neighborhood. And a convenient place for a latte or espresso. If I only drank coffee…

They have a great selection of Peruvian products. Great sandwiches and amazing Empanadas. Is pretty close to the Belmont Blue Line, perfect spot to grab a Coffee in the morning before work. I am definitely coming back.

They don’t post their hours anywhere. You’d have to actually call in to see if they’re opened. Yesterday(Sunday), the woman said they’re opened until 8pm. I don’t know if this will hold true for all Sundays. They carry aji amarillos – Peruvian yellow peppers – on the shelves in cans and jars and in the freezer. Some look more like jams or paste, and some looked pickled. Kenny and I bought one jar that look like a paste. We haven’t tried it yet though. We also got a bottle of the kola inglesa. I like it a lot more than the inca kola. The kola inglesa taste like strawberry soda to me, whereas the inca kola taste more like bubblegum(a flavor that I personally find disgusting). My favorite thing at this market though is their alfajores. All the other times that I’ve had alfajores, they all tasted really, really dry. Not only that, the cookie has always been hard and tough to bite on. The alfajores at this market were soft and flaky. The caramel isn’t like hard candy either. I’d gladly purchase some more of these cookies. At $ 2.00 a piece though, I find it a bit expensive… I wonder if there are cheaper alternatives.

I had to see for myself and maybe if I hadn’t just stopped at a store that seemed more stocked, I would have been more excited. I did see Peruvian goods, but spread out and not anything that I hadn’t just brought. I was hoping for more candy or chocolate but I didn’t see anything that I remembered from Peru. The parking was the first hurdle because I think they are working on some of the streets nearby. Hopefully, this will change. I didn’t see the empanadas but I also didn’t have anyone at the store talk to me or ask if I needed anything. I might come back if I was stuck for some ingredients… they did have Inca Kola in plastic and aji amarillos and a few other«Peru Foods» jars. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t make the trip in for this…

This place is terrible. The service sucks and my Peruvian friends think it’s a joke. They have Inca Cola, but not Inca Cola Diet. Um, weird. They don’t really have much Peruvian food here besides some candies and juices. Don’t get too excited.

Just like your average corner store with milk, soda, chips & candy. Only this one even has empanadas and Mexican imported Coke, made with real sugar.

It’s a small place, but they have chicha morada, inca kola and aji amarillo, so I’m happy!

I don’t exactly know what to say. As a Peruvian American from New Jersey living in Chicago for almost 3 years now, I thought I’d seen everything Peruvian there in this city, which isn’t much.(You cannot understand my disappointment — as a regular in Harrison and Kearny, I’m accustomed to my Peruvian goods such as lucuma ice cream, Inca Kola, King Kong, Dona Pepas, Cua Cuas, alfajores, etc.) Then on Friday I heard a little rumor about a so-called Peruvian corner store at work and didn’t think much of it. I thought, «Oh this is Chicago, there’s not enough Peruvians to have a corner store.» WELL…let’s cut to yesterday. I went to Logan Square to get some luggage and Inca Kola. The guy’s debit machine broke. Great — need to get cash. He points me in the direction of a Walgreens and off I go. One block later, I find myself in front of a white and red corner store«Peruvian Corner Market.» I literally stopped and just stood there, dumbstruck. I jumped up in joy, I took a photo of it, and then entered this supposed haven of Peruvian-ness. It’s small. It doesn’t have a lot of stuff. It has your regular corner store items. It even has Jarritos. But there’s Inca Kola and Kola Inglesa.(If they get Agua de los Andes or Guarana, now we’re talking…) But the goods are in the back and near the cashier. There have Peruvian spices(aji amarillo, rocoto, panca) and maiz morado. There’s the good, big corn that’s dried, but believe me, this is as good as it gets. You want the actual corn, then go to Peru. Chicha mix, chicha drink, mazamorra morada mix, make it yourself emoliente mix(if you know about this, you know your Peru), Cua Cuas, Dona Pepas, and hold up, KINGKONG!!! There’s KINGFRICKINKONG! I’ve NEVERSEENTHISINCHICAGO!!! It doesn’t have lucuma ice cream, but not even La Unica has that. Now, I’m not saying that Chicago is on its way to become the next Peruvian hotspot right now, but there is hope. I’ve got one more year in this city and I feel so much happier that I’ve discovered this place. A little piece of me came back to life. So for that, I give this 5 stars. It isn’t too big, it isn’t the most stacked or clean place, BUT… it’s the only«Peruvian» corner store in this city. And I’ll take that over nothing ANYDAY.
