Raspberry Almond White Mocha is definitely a must have! This place is next to a Starbucks, which I found amusing to see that they were still so busy. That speaks to how great this little spot is.

BECAREFULHERE! This is not about the coffee — it’s the location and the staff. My purse was swiped here yesterday while it was right by my side. In fairness, I need to be more vigilant — but at the same time, the staff could not have been less sympathetic, concerned, or helpful. They seemed more concerned with whispering and mumbling protocol so that other customers didn’t hear than actually trying to do or say anything helpful or even just nice, although they did admit reluctantly that this has happened there before. It’s a bad enough experience getting robbed — so just be more careful than me and big thumbs down for the staff/manager on customer service.

If I could I would give 0Stars to this location! My friend came from the south and I told him how great Peets coffee is. This shop closed at 9pm. It was 8:45 when we got there and they denied service Cus the were«closed» when I asked the barista what time they closed she responded«now». So I asked what are their hours and for that day it was 8:00am-9pm. She said it herself! They closed at 9 and they were already cleaning up and closing the registers 15min before 9pm. So remember, if you guys are coming to this location they close at 8:45pm not 9pm save the walk.

Was in town from Nashville for a wedding in Joliet. I decided to head downtown, take a stroll, and see what my dear old hometown had new and popping! Smell this AWESOME aroma of coffee from this shop and I could not resist the temptation! Had a delicious cup of Vanilla Latte and what made it awesome? I bought a cool mug for $ 6 and the coffee (any kind and size) was free! The ladies were very pleasant, nice cozy, and quaint shop, VERY clean, and this place is a winner in book! Great coffee menu as well!

Had the hot chocolate, it was phenomenal. Thick, creamy, chocolatey — just perfect. Oh how I wish I could have it back home in Miami… Cute coffee shop, good service, delicious hot cocoa.

I always enjoy getting coffee here! Great ambiance, coffee, and of course people :) The location is especially convenient considering it’s right across the street from millennium park. You can either enjoy sitting in the shop where they play relaxing music, in the outdoor seating area on a warm day, or head to the park with your awesome drink!

Great place to grab a coffee while walking downtown, visiting Millenium Park or working around. I had their Mayan Cocoa. It tastes like no other cocoa, I like it a lot! Their Banana Nut cake is good as well, and slices are large enough to satisfy your appetite!

This was a really nice coffee place, seemed a bit crowded for obvious reasons, this is the closest one to the BEAN/Millennium park. I got the White Chocolate Macadamia Javiva with Almond Milk which was really good. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a Cold and sweet combo :)

I don’t know — I’ve just never been a big fan of Peet’s, although it is better than Starbucks, ha. Anyways, the service here is a little pretentious and the coffee is good, not great.

I LOVETHISPLACE. I get my coffee here every single day. The staff is so personal and sweet. They always talk to me passed asking what I want to drink. The managers are so nice and everyone is actually knowledgeable about coffee. They have like a two week training boot camp for coffee! The place is always clean too.

Went back in for my free cuppa after the customer service emailed and apologized. Megan made me a chocolate mocha extra hot with no sugar, just the way I like it !!

I love Peet’s Coffee. The quality is much higher than other chain coffee stores(Starbucks or Dunkin). I ordered a flavored coffee and it was perfect. Sweet, but you could still taste the coffee. Unlike the sickly sweet taste of Starbucks drinks. Friendly staff and a warm escape from the bitter Chicago cold. Great location as well, right next to the bean.

A nice littel place to have a coffee in the Chicago loop on Michigan Avenue. Prices are OK, coffee is good. They even have special offers for check-ins on Unilocal which was a real surprise for me(1 buck discount per check-in). Free Internet.

I ache for when this location used to be a Caribou Coffee and have shied away. I wasn’t expecting much and being the coffee snob I am, raised my nose at the sheer thought of stepping foot in the door. Then the boss brought me here for a performance review. Obviously, I didn’t have a leg to protest on(I probably would have had the situation been different). Good thing, I didn’t! My boss bought my coffee and I had a great review! My mocha was delicious. The store was clean, warm and inviting. The staff was efficient and very friendly! The only con? It’s out of my field of vision when I step out of the office building. I enjoy the Russian roulette that the Starbucks at 68 E Madison affords. Will I have a good coffee shop experience? Will the baristas be friendly or callous today? Why 4 stars and not 5? I believe a second trip would be needed in order to raise my rating. Though, it shouldn’t be too hard to give Peet’s a 5-star rating on second inspection.

Oh, Peet’s! Thank you for opening a location on N Michigan Ave, next to a Starbucks and near a Dunkin Donuts and Pret’s. Loop workers and tourists now have yet another option to get their caffeine fix, and Peet’s offers fierce competition to its neighbor, Starbucks. I walked in, enticed by a two dollars off any handcrafted beverage coupon I’d received, and ordered a caffe au lait, which is brewed coffee topped with steamed milk. It has a near latte consistency, but its drip coffee, not espresso shots. I think I’ve found my new favorite drink. The barista explained to me that it was easier to blend steamed milk with the brewed coffee than brewed coffee with cold milk/soy milk/cream. I completely agree. I Googled the caffe au lait, and I found that Starbucks used to have this drink on their menu, labeled as caffe misto, but discontinued it years ago. Lucky us, Peet’s didn’t make that mistake. The location is small, but a good fit for its location and primary client base of tourists and workers on their coffee break. There are tables for those of us wanting to stay and meet a friend or do some work. The baristas are nice, and actually greet you with a smile. And, unlike Starbucks, they have a dirty chai on the menu! For Seattleites and non-coffee purists, rejoice: coffee meets chai in Chicago, too!

As far as coffee goes, I’m a regular at Dunkin’Donuts, but a huge fan of Intelligentsia. Peet’s, however, has a great dark roast. Any time you hand out free cups from your food truck, I’ll stop and sip. Great coffee and great peeps!

Great experience visiting Peet’s Coffee & Tea. The crew members were awesome, with a warm greeting upon arriving, straight through to the passion they have for their coffee. Kyle, the Assistant Manager, took his time describing the different offerings, and his infectious enthusiasm for his team and Peet’s in general makes me want to return again soon. They offer French press coffee, which enables you to have the experience I’ve only ever had at home — fabulous. They are exceedingly proud of their coffee, and you can see it, and taste it!

Peet’s Coffee is better than Starbucks. That’s right – you heard me right! While looking for a coffee place to kill an hour before meeting a friend today, I happened on Peet’s. I walked in and found a seat right by an outlet. Sold! I felt affirmed right away that I had made the right decision when a barista greeted me with an unassuming, «Hey, welcome to Peet’s.» I decided to try a pumpkin spice latte a) because it’s September now, b) I’m kind of a slave to marketing telling me it’s fall even though I’m still wearing sleeveless dresses like today, and c) I wanted to see how Peet’s lives up to the competition. Customer service is great; the baristas as very friendly and seem to enjoy working here. I enjoyed that my name was called and then the barista poured my frothy milk for me and offered ground nutmeg – such a cute touch! My only complaint was that there weren’t mugs, but that wasn’t a big deal. The prices are what you would expect for the city: $ 3.00 for a latte and an extra $ 0.50 for any flavors(I paid a little extra for pumpkin). There is also a $ 0.60 charge for almond or soy milk, which was a bit pricey as someone who opts for dairy-free frequently, but I’m glad they are an option(unlike places like Dunkin Donuts). In addition to hand-crafted beverages, they also sell fresh-roasted coffee(light, medium, dark, extra dark roar), as well as selling a small offering of food. Sandwiches($ 6.95), salads($ 6.95 or $ 4.95), and snacks(between $ 2.95 and $ 5.95), which are hummus, a fruit bowl, Greek yogurt parfait, etc. The next time I’m here you can bet I’ll be nomming on a super greens and kale salad in addition to one of their frio blended drinks, which look fantasic. I’m very excited for a new coffee place in the loop to get work done(there’s free wifi), grab a drink, or catch up with a friend. Peet’s is a welcome addition to Michigan Ave!
