Went here because a friend told me to try the sandwich, that it was the same as Mary’s Lemonade, but I am sorry to say that I was not Impressed. Don’t get me wrong it was good but that is it, I will not go out of my way to get a sandwich… I did get a free Lemonade with my sandwich and the People behind the counter were very friendly… If I am in the area I will pass by for some Ice cream.

mmm flamingos. I have been here a few times and I always go for the special ice cream, like the cheese or the corn. One time I was there and the owner tells me «I’m going to give a taste of the latest ice cream that I’m working on, and you tell me if you like it». sure what flavor is that, I replied. he said just taste it and you tell me. he brought out a little cup with the mystery ice cream. I had a taste and was amazed I was corona ice cream. Yes corona, not any beer but corona and it was amazing, so good. I wonder how many do I need to get drunk or can I for that matter. They also have jalapeño ice cream among other crazy flavors. PF good, different ice cream

When I crave ice cream, I specifically crave Flamingo’s. I love their flavors, no one else comes close. All the traditional American favorites, but it’s the dizzying array of Mexican flavors that draws me here. I can walk in knowing exactly what I want, and be driven to distraction by something new, or all of the ones I’ve been meaning to try and haven’t got to yet. Knowing well that most folks aren’t even as decisive as I am, Flamingo’s employees are always friendly and patient with customers, and generous with samples. They also always come up with suggestions you might not have thought of. Not only are the flavors unique, but they’re intense. All other ice cream seems mild, if not bland, in comparison. My favorites include Pay de Manzana(apple pie with cinnamon), Arroz con Leche(rice pudding), Flan, Mis Recuerdos(chocolate cinnamon, which puts Haagen Dazs«Mayan Chocolate» to shame), and the Queso I can never stay away from(parmesan cheese — sweet and mild until the little grains of cheese melt on your tongue in tiny bursts of saltiness). They also have nieves, or ices, including a small number of flavors called Diablos — which are flavored like traditional Mexican candy, like tamarind or watermelon, but with salt and red chile. I’ve never tasted anything like them anywhere else. Like any ice cream shop, Flamingo’s makes sundaes, shakes, and malts, as well as Mexican specialties like bionicos and escamochas. Cash only.
